Yeah, I know what you mean. While I saw a number of attractive figures, there was a limited amount of must haves.
Looking at the numbers of figures I have at home, this reduced interest is no bad thing.
Partially this has to do with our (Im not young anymore,too) age, figures of random Highschool girls become a bit uninteresting, and skin revealing loli’s completely meet my incomprehension, although there are still exceptions. The Kancolle popularity in figuers is on the decreasing path now, they already skipped to the german characters. Don’t worry, everyone likes the Taka designs to a certain degree, it are very pretty characters, even though the faces show limited variety, there are still great figures. Lol Yamato changes names like underwear XD Mhhh, was there a Saber figure, unfortunately I don’t know it.
