Today we will take a look at the second Cinderella Girl figure, Shimamura Uzuki. Like Rin Shibuya she was also manufactured by Good Smile Company as part of the New Generation version line up. This figure was released by the end of May 2014 one month after Rin Shibuja.
Since the big success of the Idolm@ster anime from 2011, Idol groups received increasing attention in the anime media; they save the world, play in the world of pro wrestling or just make their high school life more interesting, like in Love Live! which second season aired not long ago. This show was lovely with it’s likeable characters and entertaining episodes.
I think it was a charming mix of different High School girls with their unique quirks and their different sizes they had in the cast. I really liked Nico, Nozomi, Hanayo and Rin a lot ｡^‿^｡
Ok, lets turn over to Uzuki, like the previously reviewed Rin Shibuja, Uzuki is based on the mobile game Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls. She is described as a girl with an always positive attitude and hard working Idol. Uzuki is a friend of Rin Shibuya and Mio Honda, two other aspiring Idols. With already 17 years she is two years older than her two friends.
Uzuki has the opposite personality from Rin, she´s cheerful, sweet and girly, fishing for attention. I won´t fall for that you calculating Idol. Well, ok Uzuki is a quite cute girl.
Among the Cinderella Girls Idols there are a number of girls with a natural hair colors and so also Uzuki, she has pretty dark brown hair with cute detailed bangs and curly tips. Also in this regards the figure keeps it’s high quality. The cute decoration adds a nice touch to the hair.
I actually bought Uzuki because of her closed eye face, it’s something fresh and very cute. I can imagine that not everyone wants a figure without eyes, but GSC was so smart to give her a second face plate, it also adds more options to the figure, I prefer the closed eyes, though.
Uzuki shows us a cheerful smile with her opened mouth, one could say that it is a fake smile , but considering her personality I guess she shows an honest cheerful expression.
She has nicely painted eyelashes, eyebrows and blush marks, her friendly face is quite lovely even without seeing her eyes. The deep mouth is also pretty sweet. One flaw you probably noticed already is that her nose is too close to her mouth which looks a bit strange from a few angles, with the second face it gets even a bit more bothering Her ears aren’t covered by her hair, so you can see an earing matching the decorations from her hair and blouse.
Uzuki has without a doubt a very sweet and cute looking outfit. It looks like something a loli would wear, but there have been some modifications in terms of length and with her attractive body of a 17 year old girl, her outfit doesn’t seem to be all this innocent anymore.
The outfit is nicely sculpted all around, the short blouse exposes her belly and backside, I really like how her arm come through the short sleeves. Her dress features several tones of pink, this creates a girly and friendly look, there are different kinds of decorations on it, like these appealing looking stripe patterns, buttons and blossoms over her belly.
The frilly parts of her rather short skirt are thin enough to create a convincing look, it’s fun to discover all the elaborate details of it. Uzuki also has cute socks and a pair of pink shoes.
As I took the figure out of her box I was surprised about Uzuki’s fairly sized chest, she has a lot more developed body than Rin and isn’t shy about showing it on stage with her skin revealing outfit. The body sculpting is also done very well, be it her cute hips, the belly or the upper arms and also her appealing backside should be mentioned. Her really short skirt reveals most of her long legs, yeah the cheerful girl is quite skin revealing as I mentioned earlier.
Her pose is somehow cute when she is performing her “Nico, Nico Nii” like move.
With Shimamura Uzuki I took my second Idol figure under contact, her looks are different from Rin, but both have a somehow matching style as pretty Idols. Uzuki turned out really cute and shows nice details paired with a convincing quality. The cheerful smile on her pretty face is really enchanting. She looks great in person, also from the shelf she remains sweet and appealing. Still I wonder about her fanbase, either young girls are enchanted by her sweet costumes and pretty appearance or middle aged men like her for being a sexy girl in adorable outfits, maybe it’s something in between. Anyway she is an adorable figure with second face option.
I have no further Idol figure on order, I’m thinking about getting Koshimizu Sachiko , this time from manufacturer Phat Company who also has a few more Cinderella Girls in the making.
I hope you liked Uzuki a bit, is there an Cinderella Girl Idol figure/prototype you like in particular?
