A whole lot of figure adaptions have been made of Sora, she is surprisingly popular, given her unsocial personality,
that she showed in her VN and anime adaption Yosuga no Sora, but she is a caring little sister. The illustration that this figure is based on was created by Hashimoto Takashi who was in charge of the character designs in the VN. 

The bunny style version of Sora was sculpted by one of my favorite figure artists, Hashimoto Ryou. She was released in late April 2017. I received her before I started my 3 week long vacation this year, so I publish this review a bit late.

The figure is scaled 1/7, comes with a stool that has a magnetic sitting surface to hold Sora in place, the trademark black plush bunny is also part of the set. Alltogether while sitting on the stool, the figure has a size of 27 cm.

Sora has her hair tied into two twintails of impressive length, the deep hanging fringe made photography a bit difficult, but the hidden areas give the pictures an artistic touch. The figure has shiny, yelllow gray ish eyes and the face is quite pretty and has a somehow erotic expression, the slightly open mouth with the sculpted lips is really nice on her. Sora’s gaze over her shoulder is an halfway interested, also halfway desinterested one. while nibbling on a single cherry.

She is a very interesting figure that conveys a strong atmosphere, it’s not what you would describe as cute, although by default Sora is someone I would consider as cute. In this figure adadaption though, Sora appears quite mature with a mysterious aura, the whole figure radiates a sense of elegance, a bunny dress in general is not something I would consider as elegant at all, but Sora with her un-boxum body manages to give the outfit a refined, mature appearance.

I really like Sora in a bunny suit, the slender body and less endowed curves make it look nice and not sexually overloaded as other bunny girl figures that have big boobs and butts. Of course I like those as well, but there is a reason why I have chosen this figure of Sora over the dozen amazing bunny girls from FREEing, like Himejima Akeno. 

The sculpting of her body is really detailed, be it the arms, the lovely thighs or the modest chest, it all looks beautiful. My personal favorite aspect is the detailed sculpting of the backside with her shoulders and upper back.

Sora is quite petite and thin, but she is also a beautiful young girl. Compared to the slim upper body Sora proudly presents her hips in this nicely articulated arched back pose. The pose also lets her butt look firm and attractive,
I also should mention her very pretty legs, the on the stool position lets them appear longer than they actually are. In her league Sora is a beautiful and cool bunny girl in a nicely designed bunnysuit with puffy bunny ears, collar and the obligatory cuffs around the wrists. The top part of the bunny suit is painted in pearl white, it’s shiny texture makes it quite appealing to the eye. Obviously also the sculpting with the seams and creases is perfectly done. Her hips and legs are clad in a dark brown pantyhose with good shading effects that accentuate the nicely shaped legs and bottom.

Final Words

Kasugano Sora – bunny style version is a marvelous, attractive, slender bunny girl figure, her articulation and overall presentation are perfect and create a certain atmosphere. Sora looks just cool, she doesn’t feel cheerful, but she is also not especially fanservice heavy, she is a surprisingly classy looking character for someone in such clothes. This Sora is another awesome and elaborately manufacturered figure made by Alter, but also something special in my eyes.

I normally write these posts, that focus on the recently available figures on the market like every 3 months. After part 31 in early June, the figure manufacturers decide to launch an impressive number of quite desireable preorder items near the end of this month.

Shortly before my remaining preorder number was close to drop below 4 I could not resist anymore. For starters I placed my order for the new Sora and ALTER’s Nozomi.

Yosuga no Sora – Kasugano Sora – Bunny Style

I preordered this one, because she looks amazing, I already was sure that bunny style Sora would look nice with some paint on her as her notice her during the previous Wonderfestival, but ordering the figure wasn’t really planned. Her face is beautiful and the seductive direction is a nice extra, too. I also like the overall presentation, the attracive and nicely dressed figure sitting on this high stool while her extra long twintails are hanging down. I’m not really interested in these kinds o bunny costumes, but Sora looks so nice in one. Good that it is a December release, so it might become a christmas present I might not need to pay by myself.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Toujou Nozomi

It took a little longer for me to finally order this fabulous Idol. At first I was a little upset that Nozomi only had one open eye, she looked awesome for sure, but it slightly bothered me. Nevertheless I never lost interest, her release was initionally sheduled for June and my June was already a nightmare, I had to pass. “fortunately” Nozomi’s release was changed to July, my birthday month and fortunately she was still available. While ALTER’s Love Live! School Idol Festival cost a fortune, all girls have amazingly detailed outfits and look wonderful.

Original Character – Magic Bullets – Pin-Up Girl

It’s no secret that I love curvy swimsuit figures, I like to buy those and having them around. The figure named Pin-Up Girl is art based on an illustration by Sasaoka Gungu, this explains the unique but beautiful style of her facial features. She also is what I would call a dynamic bikini figure, she has this elaborately articulated pose. I admit she also is of course sexy with the detailed buxom body and attractive tan lining. Unfortunately, the “bikini figure of my dreams” is sheduled for the busy month October. After some calculations I ordered her now.

Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ – Kouwan Seiki – Wonderful Hobby Selection

Kouwan Seiki or Harbour Princess is one of the cuter Abyssal characters in Kancolle, she is not evil, she just wants a hug :D. Max Factory created a nice figure based on her design, I really think she is adorable and the body is dynamit. The figure has the WHS tag, figures tagged with WHS (Wonderful Hobby Selection) are always very expensive, not really because they are much nicer than normal figures. I bought a WHS figure recently, I was very exited since I really liked the concept, mine unfortunately arrived slightly damaged, fortunately the GSC support was very understanding and helped me very fast. But after that experience I’m not willing to spend 20,000 Yen + for a figure again, maybe if I would buy figures less regulary.

Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ – Prinz Eugen

“einen schönen Tag” Ahh the Germans! Haha, all right a cheaper but not less attractive Kancolle figures is Prinz Eugen, the petite and sporty looking heavy cruiser girl. Prinz Eugen is a very cute character, I really like her hair and the pretty face. Her machine parts are nicely compact and create a slender appearance. But I hope there is no swastika somewhere.

Oshiete! Galko-chan – Galko-chan

It’s Galko! I hope you are all familiar with the short anime, big girl Galko might dress like a broad, but she is a good girl and has a heart of gold. Of course I like her buxom appearance and additional volume. Max Factory even went the extra mile and made her 1/6 scale size. In the casual school uniform Galko looks very nice, well her skirt is short and fickle, you might see something while the figure climbs the stairs of her base.

Kyonyuu Fantasy Gaiden – Isis Petrovna Elenskaya

One first glimpse you’ll that this pretty woman named Isis is based on a hentai game, long hair, big boobs and a nice big butt XD The boobs might be bit much, but I like her face and the detailed front hair and won’t deny a purchase by default.

That might be too much info for my innocent readers ^^ The breast armor can be taken off seperately and also the top part of the suit can be removed to expose her nude balcony. She will have inverted nipples underneath, which often looks very pretty in “anime related media” I will have to see additional pictures before making a fix decision about ordering or not.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Sonoda Umi

I will repeat myself ALTER’s Love Live! School Idol Festival are extremely alluring, just look at this amazing Yukata outfit, even Umi turns into a moeblob Lv 9000 in this announced figure prototype. The “drill instructor” Umi  was turned into a beautifuly, cuddly cute Idol, she’s just perfect in my eyes. With her, Nozomi and Nico I would have three of these cuties, yay!

Good that I could acquire the white version of the Kasugano, Sora – China Dress version.

Many figures these days get a price drop at some point. Sometimes ordering a figure after release turns out as still difficult when there is a higher demand, yet you can manage to get a copy on release. HobbyLink Japan has been my “Saviour” a few times last year when I, after many debating till the end, decided to order a certain figure at the “last minute”.

Kasugano, Sora was manufactured by ALTER and released in November 2014. She caught my attention as I was browsing through some figure shops, all the time I thought she was just another 1/8 figure and well, a 1/8 scaled loli is … Indeed, very small – fortunately Kasugano is scaled 1/7. I really like this scale, it combines a big amount of visible details at a decent size.

In her visual novel Yosuga no Sora, Sora is a character with a difficult personality, the sudden  loss of her parents gave her mental scars and in the end turned her into an indecent sister.

I think it’s obvious that she isn’t the kind of figure where you need to know the whereabouts to admire the beauty of her elaborate design, which was developed by Hashimoto Ryou.
The reviewed version of this this figure has a cream white as main color, but Kasugano, Sora is also available as black color variant which release date is scheduled for February 2015.

The petite girl looks great with the huge, flowing twintails, that consist of many divided strands. Her silky textured chinese dress with black inlay is beautiful, it has all the fitting accessories that belong to this kind of dress, ribbons, thigh high stockings and these long gloves.

As already mentioned Sora is a petite person with a slender torso, the big head accentuates her childlike appearance, but believe it, she is supposed to be at least 16 years old, so her wide hips with the cute butt and meaty thighs give her some mature feminine appeal.

Sora’s butt is magnetic also in a literal sense, thanks to that and slots carved into the seating, the figure solidly sits on her chair base. You could just let her sit on the chair, but ALTER also added a white, small plate for increased stability.

Sora’s pose reminds of a little clumsy attempt of playing seductive, when pulling and lifting the wings of her high cut dress she is forcefully drawing attention to her left leg, when looking from behind, you can also notice that she intends to let you take a peek at her black panties.

I’m a little lost when I should talk about the figures face, of course she’s very pretty with beautiful eyes and blush marks close underneath them, but her expression feels somewhat neutral and lonely. The detailed bangs cast a faint shadow over her dark golden eyes, giving her a mysterious aura, depending on the lighting this effect is more prominent. With the small mouth Sora seems to whistle a song. It would have been awesome, if a yandere face was included for an additional display option, just a personal suggestion.

I decided to shorten my writing in 2015, coming close to or over 1000 words is exhausting on both, the writer and reader, I imagine

I’m impressed by this figure, she’s not only beautiful, but also an as good as flawless product. The elaborate posing paired with the gorgeous appearance create an especially nice figure. From the thin strands of hair, smooth appearance of the sculpting to the printed on dragon pattern, everything boldy demonstrates quality.

All that is realized without the figure being especially fragile and she’s also sitting firmly on her base. There is no merit in a pretty and expensive collectors item if it falls and breaks easily.

Kasugano, Sora – China Dress version is an example for the possible level of craftsmanship of todays beautiful figures. I can’t wait for the upcoming Wonderfestival to see more of that.

Yes, new preorders part 25 and something is probably the right title for this post, there has been not much new to preorder at the end of the year. I expected a few more Kancolle figures from other manufacturers to show up for preorders in December, but they are probably waiting to announce these for the next Wonder Festival which is sheduled for February 2015.

Aside from a few updated or announced figures from MegaHobby Expo Autumn and some more fanservice related figures there hasn’t been happening much in the last few months.

I did order only a few figures one of them on last minute literally, I really plan to preorder less figures in 2015, mainly focusing on the things I really want and making no impulse purchases.

Kasugano Sora

In the last Preorder Post 24 this figure was one of maybe candidates, I decided to get her, unfortunately all shops closed reservations months ago. I got the fix idea to grab one on the day of release and to my surprise it worked, HLJ had a few left. Shortly before release ALTER announced a black color Variant, but I’m on team white. I’m looking forward to have her soon.

Sailor Sapphire Succubus

Another maybe candidate was this hot Succubus based on an artwork of Mogudan. I’m not lying when I say that the biggest appeal point for me is the figures beautiful and lively face. Ok, she also has an attractive, voluptuos body and with being scaled 1/6 she will be a rather big figure. With the short shirt it looks a bit silly, but without it though, she looks really, really sexy. I might try to put a bikini top on her. I can’t wait to get her in summer 2015.

Super Sonico Paisura Bikini ver

You can probably tell by now that I’m into that stuff XD Here is another Super Sonico figure,
it might actually be the last one this time, until something really unique is shown.

I followed the development of her since the very early prototype stage and was quite happy to see her having turned out as promising preorder. What convinced me in the end was this set of promotional pictures, where Sonico blushes a lot, which is no wonder with a bikini that won’t fit at all and reveals her attractive, buxom body. Her pose has something to do with putting on sun lotion, I like how she squeezes her arm between her plump, fairly sized boobs.

The sculptor has a promising history of good looking figures with nicely sculpted bodies, I’m positive that this big scale Sonico figure from Kaitendoh will be really nice as well.

Not really worth to mention, but I really like such petite Nendoroid sized merchandise, when it looks as nice as this. Nozomi is bundled with Dengeki G`s Comic Magazine Vol.15 Issue.

Toro Toro Otome – Miki Reina – Suntan version

I was really torn between this figure and the previously shown Sonico. I ordered Sonico, but Miki is still a beauty. There is already a non tanned version of this figure, but the darker skin adds a lot to her and makes her look more convincing. Miki has a playful appearance, very nice colors, different display options and her top is castoff able. It was a difficult decision, but I actually hate her shoes to be honest, but I’ll keep her in mind for a possible later purchase ^^

Musashi Kai – Light Armament Version

You can buy this figure in 4 different versions, 2 differ in color, 2 differ in terms of attached weapons. With full armament she looks quite impressive, but the normal version is also very pretty, cheaper and less likely to get damaged when being moved around, that pole is better made of aluminum or steel *lol* Musashi looks good with some muscles and rather big boobs , she also wears an interesting concept of an outfit completed with a ribbon wrapped around her body. If her face would show some more emotion I would have pre-ordered her for sure.

BLAZBLUE ALTER MEMORY – Mu-12

This figure looks really cool with led powered base and prominent buttocks, the sculptor did a good job on the skin parts and the rest obviously. On the downside her face is hard to see, from different angles it’s still hard to see, which will be a reason for me not to pre-order her.

Eiyuu*Senki GOLD – Beethoven

That is the most innocent character design from the Eiyuu*Senki game and I really like that, Beethoven is a cute, short girl with an unique hairstyle and headphones. The slanted eyes give a nice thoughtful touch and she has a podium like base.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride – Houzouin Inshun

The Samurai Bride designs are really pretty and showcase the advanced craftsmanship and possibilities of todays figure production. With Inshun we see one character of the new cast. She has beautiful eyes and looks really good.

Another Toni Taka related design from Alphamax, this time without genitals on display XD

Himejijou

As the castle figure was still an unpainted prototype I liked her a lot more. I imagined her colors to turn out more striking. While she doesn’t look bad at all,I feel a little vary about her. She would actually be my type of figure and her diorama like base is lovely. I might like Hiimejijou a lot better in person, but with my mixed impressions I can’t make a pre-order.

Karada ni Kiite – Eriko

Who put the nearly nude figure here, me? I guess I liked her feminine curves a lot and the interesting design of her face. Haha like on Miki Reina from further above I hate the shoes again, what is Daiki doing with all the ugly shoes! Hmmm, it seems that the figures are just randomly divided beteen Daiki Kougyou and Dragon Toy (both companies are related).I had the impression that Dragon Toy would be in charge of the raunchy stuff, apparently not ;D

Sekai Seifuku ~ Bouryaku no Zvezda – Plamya-sama

I’m watching Bouryaku no Zvezda at the moment and also enjoy it a lot, Plamya caught my attention previously to that, since the character design is already really cool and I also like her tough girl personality. To me it appears that the prototype was improved a bit, the picture is around 2 weeks old

Leviathan – Maou Mokushiroku

Ater seeing this figures cute face in color, I’m really curious about what kind of character Leviathan actually is. She looks cute and sexy in her beach clothes, gladly Orchid Seed will work on her with Tanaka Masanori they got a really talented sculptor for her. In a magazine scan, she was shown with a silly pose, but it must be a different figure, don’t you think?

Black Heart

As I learned that Black Heart is going to be made as a 1/7 scaled figure, I was stunned, this figure will look great in a bigger scale and with such a dynamic pose. I’m very positive about ordering her next year, she looks so damn good.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Minami Kotori

ALTER keeps up the trend of making more figures in scale 1/7. Here the Love Live core member Kotori. I don’t know what they did to make this Kotori prototype look so precious, she’s nearly sparkling with craftsmanship, cuteness and visual appeal. They also made Maki.

Push!! Cover Girl

On their blog Orchid Seed mentioned that the prototype for this figure has been completed and that updates should follow soon. I’m really happy that this figures gets more attention now. I wished for her since I saw her at Summer Wonder Festival 2012. compared to the shown First version of her prototype the body looks more detailed now, at body and legs.

Sansei Muramasa – Bunny version

Sansei received quite some attention from Wing in particular, they already made a figure of her in the regular outfit which looks rather good with the serious face. Recently they were showing this through their social channels. I already like the concept art, keep it up Wing.
