We already took a look at a few figures from the summer Wonder Festival in part 1, with a little delay, I present you the second part of  Wonder Festival 2013  summer event. Maybe the topic lost it’s hype appeal by now, but I still want to list the remaining figures that caught my attention, so here we go with the featured figures from a number of popular manufacturers.

To save some time, I haven’t left a comment on everything , but I’m interested in these items.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica – Kaname Madoka

Is there really a need for more Madoka figures from GSC? sure this appears more creative and dynamic than the first batch of figures, but still it’s a little odd.

*lol* Idols can be so ridiculously cute, I already love this happy, happy darling. Her frilly multi layered skirt, the exposed belly, the short sleeved blouse, everything radiates sweetness. Normally I don’t care about figures “without” eyes, but I don’t care, Uzuki is on my list.

Magi – Labyrinth of Magic – Morgiana

Magi was a cool anime that will continue soon, aside from shounen cry baby Alibaba’s depression, it was totally awesome. Alibaba got no figure, but Morgiana an Alladin. The character designs were very appealing and therefore I think these figures will be great.

Dragon’s Crown – Amazon

In the official illustration the Amazon character looked a little deformed to me, here MegaHouse gives her more appealing shape, even the face seems softer now. I like the design a lot even though I prefer it more petite in general, the Amazon is sexy with her muscles and overall appearance.

Busou Shinki – Altlene

I totally wished for a PVC adaption of these two elaborate Garage Kits, my heart literally skipped a beat as I saw Altines and Altlene on Wonfes. I like the Busou Shinki anime quite a bit, the tiny, kind robots were really adorable. This might be really cool, I slightly prefer Altines to be honest.

This character is quite popular in Japan now, I guess she’s from a funny game with battleships. I also like her appearance.

The Seven Deadly Sins – Lucifer

*lo* not every figure of the Sins has an own prototype, but they already start with swimsuit figures, I actually wasn’t interested in Lucifer, but as swimsuit figure I like her quite a bit.

The Seven Deadly Sins – Belphegor

Belphegor is my most favoríte design after Leviathan,  she looks like a cute animal mixed with a cute girl （‐＾▽＾‐）The clothes or what is left from her outfit are attractive, hehe these stripes around her legs make me dizzy. The sitting pose already creates a number of photographic possibilities in my head.

Date A Live – Yoshino  ~Swimwear~

I’ve never seen this anime, but the figure is cute, she even wears a full swimsuit.

The 1/5 scaled Sonico will come out this year and the Cheerleader Sonico will be ready for preorders soon, aside from that they updated and worked on a few prototypes from previous Wonfes events.

Lineage II – Dark Elf 

Max Fatories Dark Elfs looked good, but rather scary for me. I’m curious how this will turn out.

Succubus

A sexy, sailor seifuku Succubus, this combination is brought to you by anime culture XD Im not sure about getting something like this, but it’s interesting and the 1/6 scale is cool. The censoring might be a bit misleading, she’s wearing underwear, there is nothing coming out *lol*.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt – Panty Anarchy

I like how this turned out, Orchid Seed rarely makes figures in this scale, but this doesn’t look bad, maybe I can put her next to my Stockings figure.

 Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko – Touwa Erio

Was Erio sexy in Denpa Onna? Yeah I think she was really sexy and seductive. Orca Toys captured this part of her very well and I’m quite interested.

Original Character – Suzuki Margit 

Can Native figures never wear panties?  Obviously not, aside from that I really like this figure, she is cute on her chair. With the glasses and the lab coatshe looks a bit like a shy yet adorable laboratory girl. She partially stimulates hides her genitals with a test tube, this might appear a bit too bold.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT – Kashiwazaki Sena

A buxom 1/4 scaled Sena figure isn’t bad at all ヾ(＾-＾)ノ.  I imagine that this figure will look beautiful after it got painted. Sure it’s just another swimsuit figure, but Sena is the prtotype of a natural bikini beauty and she’s big and sculpted in a nice pin up pose.

Nitro Super Sonic – Sonico – Tiger Parka 

For some reason I honestly dislike this figure, I dislike it as much as I like it, actually.  A cheerful Sonico with a “casual” outfit is nice, but here she looks so exaggerated happy that it nearly looks faked. When I had sorted out my thoughts about her, I might place my order.

Evangelion Shin Gekijouban – Ayanami Rei – Race Queen

Yes this is a prize figure, but woah this Rei looks good, I really like her face and the classic pose.

Vividred Operation – Isshiki Akane – CharaGumin 

Even though Akane turned out as a rather silly character, she is really popular among figure manufacturers. I think Volks figure is the best so far and captures all of her personality, too bad she’s a Garage Kit, but maybe I will try to acquire her nevertheless.

Hi a new figure has finally arrived, after a lot of anime related posts I can present you a new figure review. Today it will be about Hirasawa Yui, she’s a premiun prize figure manufactured by SEGA.

Her origin is the popular anime adaption K-on!!, the slightly airheaded Yui was the unofficial main character in the first season. In this figure adaption she is shown in her official HTT (Happy Tea Time) band t-shirt which she sported at the last performance on the school festival with Mio, Ritsu, Mugi and Azusa in episode 20. Ah that scene afterwards was such a big tearjerker, parting with your schoolmates and previous schoollife can be so sad hard. “stop crying damn wimp” XD

I never thought about buying a Sega figure before, last year, I began to notice, that their quality seemed to be better than I actually thought. I couldn’t find this Yui figure at japanese shops and ordered this figure at an US-shop, later she appeared on Mandarake for around 1600 Yen, I paid a little bit more, 35 $ + shipping (rage!), for prize figures you should give Mandarake a try.

First Impressions

Despite beeing a prize figure Yui comes with a nice looking box, she is a fully assembled figure, already fixed on her flip-flop colored base and with her beloved guitar “gitah” in her hands.
This “Windmill” Yui figure is quite big, she measures 21 cm which lets her look like 1/7 +

As I first unpacked her I felt a bit dissapointed with her, Yui was so unexpectedly big, I expected something more close to 1/8. Because of the huge size the lack of details on this prize figure is very prominent. I guess I became a bit spoiled with the level of detail from my high price figures.
Well, while doing the shooting with Yui, I slowly got the feeling that Yui actually is a very nice looking figure and that I was too harsh with her at the beginning even though there is still a difference in comparison with figures from other manufacturers that have a higher reputation.

Pose and random Infos

As you see this is a quite dynamic pose SEGA had chosen for her, I think they wanted to recreate the trademark windmill move of Pete Townshend, a member of The Who, he also owned the same Gibson Les Paul guitar like Yui, in fact he had 9 different Les Paul guitars for the concerts.

Yui raises her plektrum in the air like she wants to ROCK!, her movement with the spread and slightly crooked legs is captured very nicely, well her back is more leaned forward, but thats mainly because of the weight of her guitar, I suppose it’s a quite heavy instrument for a girl of her size. Yui’s guitar is the Les Paul Standard Sunburst made by Gibson, they did a very good job in recreating the details of this popular guitar model, the plastic has a nice polished wooden look, the turning knobs are on the right placed and also the belt around Yui’s shoulder looks cool.

Yui has a wild waving hairstyle with several detailed strands and her 2 yellow clasps. There are also some shading effects which have been rarely used on the rest of this figure. They gave her face a nice open mouth and some cute  blushmarks and nice eyes, overall she resembles Yui very well, maybe her eyes appear a bit too big in comparison with her face, what do you think?

The reason why I have ordered this figure adaption and not one of the other Yui’s is mainly based on this cool looking pose and partly based on my aversion to western styled private school uniforms, they are so plain and bourgeois. With the white HTT t-shirt her outfit has more credibility, now she really looks like a member of a band. Thats the spirit of Rock n’ Roll!
Well, Im ok with the skirt and her black pantyhose, since they accentuate her nice legs.

Also the sculpting of her dress with the detailed wrinkles on skirt and shirt is very well done. There are nearly no visible seamlines, also the simple paintjob looks clean and smooth.

Final Words

Yui is a premium prize figure and in terms of quality she’s actually a very good figure. At first I was a bit dissapointed because of her big size, but after the shooting and some days on my desk, she grow on me a bit more.

Well, you can clearly see where Sega cut the budget for prize figure Yui, aside from the hair this figure has no shading and the good sculpted guitar has no strings, nevertheless it’s remarkable, that a prize figure comes with such a good quality. Well for the price I’ve paid I would had expected a decent figure, but when you’ve just paid 1500 Yen this is more than a very good deal.

Anyway I ordered enough stuff again to make a decent New Preorder post, not really outstanding or sexy figures this time, but things I really want as well as some goodies.

Lets start with a last minute preorder of mine Kotobuki Tsumugi 1/7 Waitress Version made by Max Factory, I just noticed how pretty this figure was one week before her release date, I really gave it a lot of thought if I should order or pass on this figure, to make things short as the in stock counter was down to 4 items I pushed the order button. I always wanted a figure dressed in a waitress outfit (waitress>maid), maybe I had prefered a sexier one ;p Nevertheless Mugi-chan looks like a very nice and well made figure and she’s also a bit sexy with her stockings.

I actually planned to buy GSC’s Suruga Kanbaru as bargain bin figure, but I’ve waited too long and she is sold out by now, even though I checked her in stock status 3 times a week.
To experience not another sold out desaster like that, I’ve finally ordered this cute Nymph from Sora no Otoshimono, she is scaled 1/6 and made by Kotobukiya. I liked Nymph in the second Season of Sora no Otoshimono and as this figure of her was announced I was hooked up, but just ordered her yesterday. Nymph is big, cute and comes with a cushion base, the shoulder armor and cape can be removed, I hope the choker comes off somehow as well.
Im really looking forward to get my first 1/6 scaled figure ^-^

In August I will get the Hachikuji Mayoi figma made by Max Factory I really like the character of Mayoi and this figma of her looks just adorable in the preview pictures her faces are just too cute. It’s also nice that they scaled her considering her age in the Bakemonogatari anime, so she’ll just measure cute 120mm ^-^. She comes with some nice accessoires like the backpack, an umbrella and a shift body in other words an additional body part for the kneeing pose.

My only preorder for October so far is the Hirasawa Yui “Windmill” PM figure made by Sega, two years ago I never considered to buy a single figure from Sega, but this year I noticed that they improved and are now capable of making nice figures in a quite good quality for a good price, of course I’ts not the same quality Alter or GSC has. Anyway, what I like about this Yui figure is her outfit with the HTT t-shirt the cute face expression and the very dynamic “Rock n Roll” pose. Unfortunately this figure was only available at Toyslogic, so far. Haha I’ve just noticed that I have two K-on! figures on preorder. I guess I prefer them in different outfits than in their uniforms.

Goodies

This time I also ordered other otaku culture related stuff, since it was cheap :P. So the small things at first, A little Dakimakura strap with Saten and Uiharu illustrated on it. it is 37mm wide and 100mm long. I mainly bought this out of curiosity and cause I like cute illustration, there were also Dakimakura straps with Misaka or Kuroko on it available, but they were a bit too bold ^^.

The Daiichi Uchu Sokudo CD with the BLUE STAR song, unfortunately the CD with the Superorbital song of Super Soniko which I really like, was sold out, too bad :(.
Well at least the cover of the CD I’ve ordered is nicer.

To complete my Super Soniko admiration I also ordered the limited edition of the Super Sonico Game “Sonicomi” produced by Nitro+. I don’t know why they call it limited edition, maybe

there are some nice extra goodies included. After I’ve watched some ads about it as research for my latest figure review, I was very tempted to buy this Game. It sounds like fun and from the things I’ve read about the game should be more on the romance side than “H” side.

Im confident about being able to play and understand most of the game with the help of Agth text extractor and an online translater like I did before with another japanese game, my motivation is very high. if it somehow won’t work the box of the game would still look good on a shelf I guess. I hope they won’t choose a too daring box cover for it, or Im screwed if someone finds out XD
