Sometimes as figures collector it happens , that you will see a figure, you know you would actually like, but there might be reasons that prevent you from preodering. It’s not the first time I got my hands on a figure that was already released a few years later. The recent late purchase happened with this Super Sonico – Rock ‘n’ Roll Valentine version which was released in August 2014. Last year, I finallly had the right mindset to get this lovely figure ♡.

The figure was a colaboration of Wing and Sentinel. The sculptor Busujima Takamaki turned an official illustration by Tsuji Santa into a truly wonderful figure. Super Sonico – Rock ‘n’ Roll Valentine is a 1/6 scaled figure, with a height of 25 cm she has a good size and presence.

Super Sonico the easily flustered gravure Idol is very good for all kinds of merchandise, especially figures. After many Sonico figures have been made, we learned that the cute and buxom character can be portrayed as embarassed, flustered but also happy figure.

Wing and Sentinel decided to make their Rock ‘n’ Roll Valentine version happy and cheerful.

The figure has alternative face plates, there is a winking face and a face with both eyes opened, both are equally cute and appealing. The face shows beautifully painted eyes and blush. The opened mouth has a cute shape and upper frontal teeth, it’s a lovely face overall.

On her head Sonico wears her trademark headphones painted in a shiny metallic color, below is her beautiful and smooth, pastel pink hair, I always love her fluffy hairstyle, the strands in general are very elaborate, but also at the back they show a very detailed and dynamic flow.

Sonico wears a cute heavenly blue bikini with big polka dots. Her bikini is sculpted in a detailed way to have a stretched look at the corners of her top. The bottom part is very tight and digs into her skin. The top is made to be castoffable, arms and head come off to make the process easier, blue ribbons hide the detaching points. Sonico can hold a guitar, that is supposed to look like it is made of brown and white chocolate and already started melting.

As special feature the package also has differently sized adhesive and re usable chocolate splatter stickers, it’s a funny gimmick. You can decorate the figure like a little piglet ;D

Sonico has a nicely developed buxom body, the cuddly appearance is really sweet in this figure adaption, this cute little belly is quite charming. She also has nicely shaped and ample boobs, in just the right size for Sonico, some other figures of her don’t care about the official sizes and portray her with more than she should have. This Sonico figure here shows her with marvelous wide hips, another really prominent part are her her meaty and very womanly thighs, it looks so great!

Final Words

Wing and Sentinel created a without much exaggeration, a fantastic and also creative adaption of Super Sonico, the figure delivers everything I like about the girl, she looks extremely cute and cheerful. Since this is not my first Sonico the bar for another one was already quite high, what speaks for this figure is the great portrayal of Sonico’s attractively plump body. The face shows her positive, strong cheerfulness accentuated by a contagiously bright smile. I’m delighted that I added another very appealing Sonico to my figure collection.

Yes, it must quite heavy to carry in reality ;D It’s cute but also a little kinky, good it is no white chocolate…
Her faces are really awesome, a wonderful figure overall.

It’s kinda nice that without the guitar, her pose still makes sense. How did you pose her on your shelf in the end? With or without guitar? With or without the melted chocolate stickers?

    • wieselhead

Yeah, it’s good to have different options, especially this certain Sonico figure offers a variety of nice display options.
I display her with guitar and without stickers at the moment, in general I put the complete figure on display, also completely dressed in case you might wonder about that, too ;D
Although, sometimes there are fragile looking parts, that I rather leave inside the box.

I have had that feeling all too well. I very rarely have acted upon it, from recent memory it was only Uzuki and Erio. Most of the time I find it to be too much trouble to get a hold of some older stuff or just plain financially unpleasant.

Well, I’m glad you did though, I was almost beginning to think you were over your Sonico love. I keep getting pleasantly surprised by Wing, from being complete unknowns they have been doing a good job with their work. The chocolate splatters are a nice gimmick that gives the figure a little oomph. I am apparently not surprised by Sonico playing a chocolate guitar in a bikini apparently, I just feel it’s her mode of operation so the chocolate is a nice touch.

Haha yeah financially unpleasant happens often in this hobby, I understand this. You know I already had the intention to get her since some time, I’m really glad I decided to get one of the best figures of her (‐^▽^‐). Ah no, I try to keep her in my memory, figure releases that are of interest for me happened less oftee since some time. I’m looking forward to the version of Max Factory in a Vocaloid dress ^^. Wing is really good, I like their figures. This Sonico is one of my favorites withher appearance andb features. She has a bikini model body afterall ♡^▽^♡.

Nice review and photos! I’m admittedly not a big Sonico fan but this one with the cast-off and chocolate guitar is actually pretty cool. I don’t think I can ever complain about topless girls covered in dessert!

    • wieselhead

Thank you very much for Sonico I will always try my best (*^▽^)/
Yes, the figure of her has especially cool features to play around with.
      Indeed! ( ̄▽+ ̄*)

I feel really conflicted about seeing Super Sonico figures now. It’s not really so much about her ubiquity – I own a bunch of her figures and a big-ass doll that I paid way too much money for – and it’s not really so much about the anime that I didn’t care for, and it’s certainly not about her fan-servicey look. Rather, it’s all because of that fat jiggling tub of suet, Pochaco! I can’t stand seeing figures of that grinning, blonde smooth-skinned Jabba clone and now this loathing has spilled over to Nitro+’s main mascot. I even saw that they have some other fatty mascot, though I thankfully cannot remember her name. Sonico does look really cute here, though. She always looks great when she’s happy (and when she’s standing up). The only thing I don’t care for is her confection-based guitar, which looks a little, hrmm, contrived, maybe.

    • wieselhead

Pochaco is really an escalation of the so called “healthy girl look” Why is she so very overweighty, I admit that I like her smile quite a bit.
I will still not stop liking Sonico, after the game I just am a big fan, I also ordered her translated game sheduled for summer haha.
This figure I got is indeed a wonderful adaption of her character, maybe my favorite for once. Hmm maybe the shiny color make it really look like plastic.
