Kotobukiya adapted the figure from her popular storage room scene in the Clannad anime. She is a figure from the year 2010. I just got her recently from my friend at miettechan. We sometimes send figures to each other even when we live 10.000 of miles apart. And I took in Fujibayashi Kyou from Kotobukiya, I liked the figure and so I was happy.

I still remember Clannad to be a show that made me cry a lot, some events were quite melodramatic and overwhelming for my heart, but some things were also quite happy memories for me, I can’t say it was a bad experience to watch Clannad and Clannad After Story. One time I would probably like to rewatch it.

The figure is scaled 1/6, although the pose is rather compact the figure still looks big afterall she measures 12 cm in height. Another feature of the figure is a realistically sculpted vaulting box, I have put it somewhere, but could’t find it on the day of the shooting. Typically for Kotobukiya’s 4-Leaves label the figure also has a cushion base.

Kyou Fujibashi is an athletic person. In the VN her route is a big first love drama, but everything will be ok later.
Kyou is a strong, even rather bold character, but is a tsundere type who acts shy when romantic stuff is involved.
She is the older sister of Ryou, Kyou is very protective torwards the little sister and wishes her to find happiness in life.

My favorite girl from Clannad is actually Kotomi Ichinose, because she is a gentle soul with cute appearance.

The figures outfit is nicely sculpted with the wrinkles and folds on them. The bloomers look tight and stretchy, it’s supposed to look a little naughty. Her thigh highs also look nice and realistic. I also like her shoes quite a bit. The shading is done nicely, even when it’s done a bit roughly at some areas, I do really like the dynamic look it creates.

The outfit is nice highschool fanservice, the combination of short sleeved shirt, red bloomers and thigh highs doesn’t fail to appeal. I remember a volleyball tournament in our school, what a joy for the youngsters ahaha.

Her bodysculpting is great, everything looks smooth and pretty. The left thigh has a minor seamline, they could have made it smoother like the rest of the figure. I also think that she has nice arms and perfect looking hands. There could be a few finer details here and there, but it’s quite all right and I like the presentation of the figure as a whole.

The character design follows the beautiful Kyoto Animation style, her big purple eyes are very pretty and lively.
The old school blush effects also add a bit more to the pretty face. The violet hair looks smooth and pretty, not super fine as on figures nowadays, but clean and soft looking, also the hair ornament on the right side is there.

Her expression captures Kyou’s nervous and flustered from the hilarious storage room scene in Clannad very well.

Kyou’s pose is nicely articulated, the arched back doggy pose sets the focus on her backside which looks nice.

Final Words

This was all about Fujibayashi Kyou – Gym Storeroom version, I hope you liked the pictures and idea behind them.

It’s overall a nicely designed figure. The concept with the compact doggy pose is both sweet and sexy, as Kyou has a nice butt. The P.E. uniform looks very stylish and pretty. The figures expression is also quite good. For a figure from a decade ago it’s great and a nice memento of Clannad, who honestly did not receive many nice figures.

There should be more figures based on Kiyoto Animation characters, why is there no Violet Evergarden?

A bunch of figures based on Sora no Otoshimono have been made, the appealing, lovely heroines Nymph, Ikaros and Astrea received quite some attention from several figure manufacturers. I’m still waiting for a figure of Sohara, but since the franchise ended, I should bury my expectations. This figure here is my third one related to Sora no Otoshimono.

I always liked Kotobukiya for producing really cute figures at a good price and in the past i purchased a lot. Since they changed the material for most of their recent figures for whatever reason , I became more careful with purchasing new figures I just don’t like the  new skintone.

After I placed my order for Ikaros. I really feared that I would not like her in the end, fortunately things turned out better than expected, so today lets have a look at Ikaros in this review.

Under their 4 Leaves label Kotobukiya released Ikaros in mid August 2014, it’s the second
Sora no Otoshimono figure, Nymph was the first on they’ve made, I reviewed her in 2011.
Ikaros was sculpted by Hoya Mitsuru a new sculptor who just made this and another figure of Sinon, Ikaros is on her knees and is scaled 1/6, the figure is rather big, but in a compact pose.

Sora no Otoshimono is a popular manga/anime series that also had a movie some time ago, the manga ended earlier this year. I liked certain aspects of the show, but there were also certain things I disliked, it was really a bit heavy on the fanservice side, this coming from me, really means something *lol* The story suffered a little from that and the dirty main character.

In season 1 Ikaros was a character I really liked. Ikaros is a Angeloid, advanced cyborg who can either be used a weapon or how should I put it, a toy for evil masters. Most of the story, Ikaros has problems with showing happy expressions because she has a few limiters programmed into her, thats the reason why she always looks a bit sorrowful and in need for comfort. I like sad heroines in anime, they have a certain fascination on me, I also liked Flay in Gundam Seed.

The pink hair looks nice, also from behind I was rather surprised by the level of detail, with longs braids and ribbons. Ikaros has persocom ears, you remember the nice romantic anime Chobits?

The gradient of her bangs from light pink to black is really pretty. Also the details are very well done. Her face is even better, the big green eyes are nicely painted and the figure has strong blush marks under the eyes. The small mouth  shows a shy expression with a sense of sadness, still Ikaros manages to look really adorable, maybe if we pat her head long enough she will smile a little. The prototype had a different kind of skintone, but the reduced opacity of the final product turned out less obvious than I anticipated, in fact her skin looks rather nice.

As “toy” Angeloid, Ikaros combat suit reveals some skin, her torso is nearly naked. I really like her bare shoulders and the way her outfit accentuates her body. Ikaros fairly sized boobs have a more natural appearance in this bend over and squished together position, but weren’t they bigger in the manga, I don’t remember. From the backside you can also see her pretty  back.

The figure comes with a soft, stuffed blue base, I haven’t used it in the pictures, it looks like that.
As little accessory Kotobukiya added a melon to the figure, the round object can be placed under her hand. In the anime her relationship towards watermelons was very cute, she really likes round objects and cultivates watermelons in the main characters garden.

Ikaros has small wings on her back, colored with a  pearl white shine and a pinkish tint, they look very good on her and highlight her interesting outfit. The figures light outfit is supposed to be body armor. She has sky blue stockings with heavy boots and shin guard, the shoes alone don’t look tough. At her arms she’s also wearing guards above the sleeves. The black and white parts should probably resemble modern robot like things. It is a often used color variant in modern SciFi media. Her corsage like top don’t have much protection, also not her cute skirt. The skirt also comes off and reveals bright white panties, I would have given bonus points for polka dots.

The detailed outfit is pleasing to the eye, the white parts are shaded with a mix of light blue and gray which helps in giving the figures sculpt some more depth and additional contrasts. The chain and choker around her neck looks a little mean and kinky, but it plays an important role in the story, also the gunmetal color with the dark shading gives it a great, realistic look.

Final Words

Kotobukiya’s Ikaros turned out quite nice, she is big, but a rather compact figure due to the pose. Overall she has nice details and shading at the right places gives her an elaborate look. Ikaros is a expressive figure, the vulnerable, sorrowful expression makes her very adorable and appealing  She has a lot of shelf appeal, also because of her pretty color combination.
The quality of my copy is really good, there is actually nothing I could really  complain about.

On the bottom line Ikaros is a beautiful winged, pink haired lady in need for comfort.

Today I want to show you a new figure review about one of my latest purchased figures, it is Kotobukiya’s cute little Angeloid Nymph, her origin is the popular anime Sora no Otoshimono. Kotobukiya released this Nymph under their 4 Leaves label, this figure is scaled 1/6 and has a sitting height of around 12 cm, her release date was at the end of july 2011. She is the first 1/6 scaled figure in my collection and I was eagerly waiting for the day of her release.

This Nymph figure has a few nice features like a soft cushion base, an castoffable cape and also the big collar around her neck can be taken of, as well as her pretty semi transparent blue wings.

Nymph comes in a rather place saving box, nevertheless I had to pay 2980 Yen for the EMS shipping, regarding her 1/6 scale I think its a fair price. In the past shipping costs appeared less expensive, or maybe I just had this impression, because I’ve  bought only a few figure in the past. Nymph was wrapped up in many layers of foil so unpacking took a few minutes

Herorigin is the popular animeSora no Otoshimono, a mixture of comedy, ecchi and sci-fi.
The anime centers around a perverted guy called Tomoki lives together with the mysterious Angeloids Ikaros and Nymph, who came from the sky. The show portrays his daily life adventures with them and his friends. Sora no Otoshimono is a rather good anime, only this perverted “toad” Tomoki can be quite annoying sometimes. This anime also had a sequel called Sora no Otoshimono: Forte where a third Angeloid called Astrea was added to the cast. In June of this year also a movie called Sora no Otoshimono: Tokeijikake no Angeloid was shown in Japan.

Nymph made her first appearance in chapter 13 of the manga and in the anime she appeared in episode 6. She is an Electronic Warfare Angeloid, who has high processing capabilities and the ability to hack into computer systems, other Angeloids and human brains. Unlike Ikaros she  is acting more lively and can show her emotions. She is a rather small and petite Angeloid, who is only 139 cm in height and weights 29 kg. In her origin there was no info about her age, you can’t judge it by her looks since Angeloids don’t grow. She had the mission to retrieve Ikaros, but failed because of her low combat abilities compared to her. During her mission she falls in love with Tomoki and decides to stay together with Tomoki and Ikaros. Oh I should add a bit info about her personality as well, most of the time she behaves like a normal girl she can be cute and lovely, but also a bit self centered and bitchy. Nymph has a soft spot for snacks and soap operas.

Nymph looks really enchanting, cute and adorable. She has one of the cutest faces among my figure collection, it has a nicely sculpted 3 dimensional shape and the small open mouth just adds the final touch to it. On her face she has really cute and soft blushmarks and her blue eyes are very detailed. It doesn’t resemble her face from the anime 100%, but its very close and I like the way the sculptor made it. Her hair shows a voluminous light blue twintail style, her bangs and the long strands have a little dark shading, overall it suits her very well and look like in the anime, also these  futuristic square cut mecha ears of her are very nice details on Nymph’s cute head. I think she looks good with or without choker, but I somehow feel bad when a big choker with a chain is put around a girls neck, so Im happy that Kotobukyia included the option to take this thing off.

Her slightly shiny white combat suit is very pretty with her cape and the shoulder armor, without cape and shoulder armor, the suit of Nymph resembles a chineses dress with slits high to the hip.
These blue semi transparent wings are really beautiful in shape and texture, especially when you light them up with an external lightsource. On the backside the cape is cutted into 8 stripes, on the inside the cape is painted with a pink color. Shoulder armor and suit have a few black lined details. The white suit shows wrinkles like a sturdy latex dress and the grey shading on it is very well done. Connected via big suspenders Nymph wears black stockings and white boots, when taking off the cape Nymph appears more petite and after taking off the wings she appears even more petite *Kawaii* I really like the design of her suit.

I like this pose of Nymph it shows a nice body language and considering that the figure is scaled 1/6, this pose of her is a rather space saving one. The way Nymph sinks in the soft cushion base looks great and somehow it lets the figure appear a lot livelier than the mainly used plastic bases.

Nymph is mainly made of pure cuteness, a little bit of sexyness is added at her lower region, the passage from the hips to her thighs looks quite sensual and I also like how she pulls down the suit between her legs in a shy or rather playful way. From certain angles you can catch a glimpse of her fancy designed panties.

Final Words

Now a few last words about this figure, Kotobukiya created a really nice adaption of Nymph, she is beautiful and has a very cute charisma. I like figures with a petite body frame and Nymph really meets my taste in this regard. She is a supercute figure, I like her skintone and the cute, detailed face a lot ^-^. The 1/6 scale and the sitting pose in combination with the cushion base are also very good points of this figure. Her white suit and her big semi transparent wings are very pretty. In terms of quality Im quite satisfied with this figure, the sculpting looks good and clean. Well on very close view there are a few very small overpainted areas along the black stripes of her dress. Im very happy that I’ve ordered this figure, Nymph is a figure I would like to give a hug haha ^^.

This figure isn’t really popular and so she’s still available at AmiAmi for 6120 Yen

So far Kotobukiya and Plum released a scaled Nymph figure, personally I would say Koto’s adaption is the nicest one. When you would like a less cute and more dynamic Nymph, the upcoming figure from Grands would probably be more suited for you.

Hi todays review is about a figure which I hadn’t on my agenda until recently, it is Itou Noemi.
I mentioned her in my last New Preorder post. It was a mere impulse buy, I noticed this figure as I was scrolling through the sale section of HobbyLinkJapan, she looked pretty cute in the preview pictures and I couldn’t resist. The discount at HobbyLinkJapan was also pretty good, something about 5700yen but to save shipping cost and customs I bought her at a local shop.

Itou Noemi was manufactured by Kotobukya and released in November 2008 for a price of 7140 Yen at that time. Her scale is 1/8 and her height is about 19,5 cm.
The origin of this figure is a visual novel game called With You –Mutsumetai from 1998!
It was published by NEC Interchannel, Ltd. for Pc, Sega Saturn and WonderSwan Color
There was also an Ova adaption from the year 2000, but the ratings say it’s pretty bad.
So Kotobukiya made this figure nearly 12 years after the origin was made, that’s interesting.

I haven’t played the game, watched the Ova, or found any CGs, so aside from a few artworks, I can’t give you such background information’s like in my Buddy review. Maybe I’ll be able to edit a few infos after I’ve watched the Ova.

Hair & Face

Noemi has long dark purple colored hair, it has no shading and paintjob on it, but the nicely sculpted strands create good looking shadows on it so I can’t really complain about the missing paintjob, the hair looks quite good without it. At her huge ponytail a big yellow ribbon is attached. The face of her looks very cute, she has beautiful purple colored eyes and some blushmarks on her cheeks. Her wide open mouth is also done very well.

“Kyaaaa!, don’t look at me!”

The morning sun floods Noemi’s room while she is changing into her working dress.
She already took the clothes out of the closet and placed them neatly on her bed before putting them on. From the Hallway silent steps can be heard followed by a cheerful piping song. Suddenly the door opens and as soon as Noemi realizes who enters her room carelessly, she thrusts out a sharp scream “Kyaaaa!, don’t look at me!” from the shock while quickly pulling her uniform close to her body to cover her embarrassment.

Pose & Expression

It looks so cute how Noemi grabs her uniform and pulls her arms towards her face.
The sculptor captured her expression and body language from such scenes we know from many animes shows very well and gave the whole figure a very dynamic appearance. Also the flow of her clothes looks very nice, like the little bit transparent shimmy has nice wrinkles and shading effects. The maid uniform which is probably made of heavier cloth and shows are different kind of drapery than the pink shimmy, the twisted sleeves do look very interesting and are giving the final touch to the flow of her clothes and the pose.

Body & Outfit

The first thing I’ve noticed, was that the figure appears very petite, in the description it is said that Noemi is scaled 1/8, I thought, wait that can’t be 1/8, but in comparison with another 1/8 scaled figure of mine her size appeared reasonable. Neomi is just more petite, she has a small butt, the thin long legs and her small feet; the implied toes are a cute detail. Her upper body is mainly covered by the shimmy, but because of its sculpting you can see some skin here and there. The round base is nothing special, it shows a timber flooring like texture and looks good.

Her outfit consists of a pink shimmy, stockings and panties, the long white stockings are pretty nice. The panties have a small ribbon at the front, at the backside there are funny looking quillings. There are no cast off options and the maid uniform can’t be separated from her.

Overall the sculpting looks quite good only from her backside I’ve noticed that her arms are connected in a strange looking way the lower part is bigger than the upper part and it looks quite ugly, another smaller flaw I’ve noticed is a small gap between her leg and her butt on the right side, this second flaw isn’t that noticeable.

Final Words

I’m happy that I bought this Noemi Itou figure, as said the body language of her pose and the face has a very strong expression , the dynamic flow of her poses also done very well. This figure is a little bit on the sexy side, but it’s not very daring and so Noemi is mainly a very cute figure also my mum said that she’s totally cute ^^
