It’s probably hard to believe, but this actually is my last Super Sonico figure review for the time being, I have no more figures of her on Preorder. The only one I might consider to get in the future, at the moment is the attractive prototype from Kaitendoh.  What would be a better way to conclude this than with a big and cute figure of the now so popular anime culture Idol.

Orchid Seed did a great job with all their adaptions of the Sonico character, Wing, ALTER and Native put up a good competition in the past and recently, but I like their figures the most.

Orchid Seed also made this Super Sonico Cheer ★ Girl version, also known as Cheerleader version, it was released in early October 2014. The figure is scaled 1/6 with an overall height of 30 cm (with pompoms included) with her big head and buxom body, she looks quite big.

The figure was made by Tanaka Masanori  a rather active sculptor of Orchid Seed figures.
The Cheer ★ Girl is based on an illustration from Tsuji Santa, actually one of my favorite Super Sonico illustrations when it comes to amount of details and a cute facial expression.

There are several parts included, optional hands and soft loose socks parts and also a cast off option, so you have different ways to display her. The top opens at the backside, the skirt opens at the side.You can take off the head, but the figure doesn’t separate at the waist.

Sonico always has the same headphones, but Orchid Seed did a good job in letting it look detailed and convincing, she also has her usual shoulder long hairstyle. On this figure though, there are few changes, small strands flowing around her main hair part like tentacles, the different sizes and movements make her hair really interesting, the fringe is hanging deeply over eyes that gives Sonico a rather wild touch.

This Sonico figure has a cute face with really big, lively eyes, her eyes actually aren’t pink, they remind me more of a thin layer balsamic vinegar. At such a size it is to be expected that the facial details get more attention, nevertheless the details like eyelashes look great on her. Sonico has little pointy nose and a deeply engraved mouth with upper front teeth line.

The happy expressions gives her a youthful and cheerful appeal, I really love how she looks.

Her outfit is the classic cheerleader costume known through American sports. Her outfit is a skimpy type of shirt which consist of blue and white colors, her collar has a nice, thin red stripe. The shirt is closed with a big knot, it keeps Sonico’s treasures in place, when she jumps around like that. Her navy blue and white skirt has a very pretty design and good details.

For another sporty option, you can choose to display Sonico with hands or with pompoms. The yellow things look good and give the figure a color boost. The hands have  detailed fingers with painted nails, the detaching points are hidden by the wrist decorations of each hand.

With Sonico making a jump into midair the figure is a really dynamic one, flowing strands, flowing pompoms and bouncing boobs, make her look very energetic and cheerful.

Sonico is a beautiful cheerleader girl, her nice long legs have muscular thighs and also her stomach looks very well trained. She’s not as chubby as recent figures of her. It makes sense, since you can’t be a Cheerleader without physical fitness and stamina, during her workout  Sonico lost a few of her cute pounds. Still Sonico shows an overall excellent sculpted body.

The girl is wearing fancy pantsu with several lines of detailed frills and lovely laces at the outside, it a really cute design. She also has nice looking white sport shoes, you can either display her with her socks or use the soft loose socks, which are simple to de- and attach.

The pose portrays the figure during the ending phase of a little jump, her skirt and the pompoms are lifted up and face upwards. It is really sweet and funny how Sonico’s boobs are bouncing around in midair. Even without her top they still look convincing in shape and size.

The figure has a nice pair of breasts with slightly elevated rosebuds, which are painted slightly darker, I really like the color that has been used. While a few figures of her show her with larger breast, this Cheer Girl version is true to her size as she was introduced as character.

Final Words

Orchid Seed managed to create another high quality big scale figure of the Super Sonico character. there were already a number of great Sonico figures made by them. There was Super Sonico as flustered Rockstar, dilligent nurse and contemplative bikini model.

In this adaption Sonico was portrayed as sporty, buxom cheerleader with a dynamic pose and a super happy smile. It is a really cute figure with a lively atmosphere. The 1/6 scale suits her nicely, her body looks fantastic with all the details of her sculpt and she has beautiful boobs.

The final figure shows a commendable quality, everything is smooth with no edges or obvious seam lines with two metal pegs and reinforced base she stands pretty solid on one leg.

Today I will review a figure called Chouhi Ekitoku from Orchid Seed, this review is partially NSFW.

I started pretty late with adding Ikki Toussen figures to my collection of plastic figures, which is nearly hilarious because the first anime is already 10 years old. The first season was rather bad, but 4 years later with studio Arms in charge, Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny turned out better.

The first figure I received was Kan´u Unchou from Daiki in 2012 and the second one was Chouhi Ekitoku ” Magical Chouhi” from Orchid Seed. There was a longer delay for the figure, but Chouhi finally was released in the end of July 2013. She is scaled 1/7 and has a height of 18 cm. This figure is based on one of the intermission pictures in the Ikki Tousen GG anime.

I like Seito Academy the most, with Kan’u, Chouhi, Koumei and Chou’un and Ryuubi , they are a lovely group of close friends, but also because it’s one of the schools without scheming male jerks. Well in the early 2000 era of anime, such badass boss characters were still popular I guess nowadays an anime like Ikki Tousen would have no characters like this within the main cast.

Chouhi is brave and does her best in supporting her friends, but as B Rank fighter she doesn’t have the power to fight against any of the top fighters, at the beginning she even just had a C Rank. in the anime she will be seen mainly fighting against weaker groups of henchmen.

She can be easily overseen in the cast, since she has no weapon or special moves, her role is mainly a supportive one. Chouhi is tomboyish, loud and has a short temper, but on second view she is a good girl with a big heart. Her delinquent accent is rather funny, she often acts strict towards Ruby to make a better leader out of her, the weakling bookworm.

Putting a tomboyish, 17 year old girl in an magical girl – maid uniform appears rather weird.
Still, I wanted this figure since I noticed it as grey prototype on Wonfes, because it has a certain attraction to it, sure it appears more than out of character, but it does that in a very cute way.

Hair & Face

The short hairstyle is cute, Chouhi has brown even hair which transforms into wildly arranged thorn like ends at the back of her hair. Stronger strands are also framing her eyes, in the middle Chouhi has straight fringe on top she is wearing a pink and frilly maid cap.

She has the eyes of a vicious animal and the look of the character is nicely recreated. With the short hair and the big eyes, Chouhi could also be a mischievous runt, but Chouhi is at least 17.
Her face also shows a deep engraved mouth with strong shading, a tongue and a sweet fang.

Outfit & Body

Chouhi Ekitoku has an odd outfit, I can’t deny that it looks like a magical girl collided with a maid.

The outfit appears like an unhealthy strawberry cake with lots of cream and sugar, it has very girly and cute pastel colors. Especially in the upper regions the outfit is a bit more bulky, take the puffy sleeves for example, the magical maid attire is also decorated with several pink ribbons of different sizes. There is a nice amount of details, like all of these frills on her outfit, the sculpting and overall execution of her clothes is quite clean, without seams or overpainting.

I think it’s a very good figure, but there are a few things about her outfit that I’m not too fond of. The pearl shine stocking and gloves somehow disrupt the harmony of pastel colors a little, they could have used normal colors for these parts. Another thing that bothers me a bit, is that the gloves let her hands appear a little too big for the figures proportions.

The illusion of thin fabric on her panties is really nice, the thin wrinkles and slightly transparent effect gives a nice and nearly realistic touch to it.

I like big butts and I can not lie! ( Sir Mix – a – Lot – “Baby got Back” ) *lol* what a song. Anyway Chouhi is a marginal chubby girl and in her deep bend over pose (not as deep as the illustration implies) her meaty butt comes into focus, when she sticks it out in an ecchi and playful way.

Instead of the usual way of Cast Off, Orchid Seed provided a second torso without clothes, who can be simply exchanged with the other one. It’s easier for the company to make it this way, because less thoughts about designing the clothes have to be made. This method also prevents too bulky clothes, gaps, paint transfer and other involved design compromises.

Chouhi hides a nice body underneath her “magical maid” outfit with happy, nicely shaped boobies, a nice upper back and a nice lower back of course. The figure seems to be more relieved after being freed from her special outfit, I also think that she’s very attractive this way. Somehow her facial expression changed to be much more whimsical and upbeat than before.

The second body is also really smooth you have to look really hard to find the common seam lines on such figures, like on the sides of her body or arms., everything on this figure very clean.

On another note I had a little problem with the castoff, in this case my problem was the excess plastic inside the nude torso and on the connector peg, which prevented the proper connection between.upper and lower body. I had to use some tools to get rid of the unneeded material.

Orchid Seed’s Chouhi is a standing figure, but she is also able to sit on different things like a camera lens, this can be used for a different perspective and interesting posing opportunities.

Final Words

The end is nearly reached, let me say a few things to conclude this review of Chouhi Ekitoku from Orchid Seed. The figure turned out quite nice and it was worth the wait, she is wearing a without doubt very flashy outfit and actually not everyone’s taste, but I knew what I ordered so it’s definitely no flaw. I like the lovely facial expression of Chouhi that shows a lot of personality.

The new implemented cast off method saves time and you don’t have to be scared of breaking or scratching anything. Quality wise Chouhi Ekitoku also knows to convince, sculpting and paint are nearly flawless without any prominent seam lines. The only thing that bothers me is the size of her gloves.

It was really fun to review a castoffable figure after a while. Yeah, I think that I actually wrote too much text and included too many pics, but it just shows that I like the Chouhi figure quite a bit.

Time for a new review and today we take a look at the Yagyu Jubei – swimsuit version figure.

The figure was recently released by AmiAmi zero, a company known for pretty and sexy figures like Menace from Queens Blade or Hinako from the silly but cute Issho ni Training Ofuro OVA.

Jubei the sexy godess of the beach which I review here is scaled 1/8 and has a height of 15 cm. The release occured in early October this year. Yagyu Jubei arrived after 3 1/2 weeks with SAL shipment, if I had known about the many delays of my other figure orders I had chosen a faster shipping method. Anyway I’m very happy to be able to write a new figure review again.

There have been a number of Yagyu Jubei figures, but I fell in love with this one after I’ve seen some unofficial pictures from a certain fair. She is part of AmiAmi zero’s Hyakka Ryouran swimsuit line Hattori Hanzo was the first one Jubei the second one and Tokugawa Sen will be the next.

This Yagyu Jubei wore this outfit in the beach episode of the Hyakka Ryouran anime where she was wearing this exotic bikini. The outer appearance of Jubei is that of a fine women, but she’s rather an airhead and has the mind of a child in the story, I can’t say that she’s one of my favorite characters, but I like happy girls, be they silly or airheaded, it doesn’t really matter to me.

Hair & Face

Yagyu Jubei has a wild and rather complex hairstyle with dynamic strands, a twin ponytail with a knot in between and antenna strands at the front. The hair is painted in a straight red, I think the colortone is very well chosen, it’s not too gaudy and not to dark either. There is no color shading, but since the detailed sculpting already creates nice shadows it’s fair enough. The sculpting of the hair is detailed and clean overall. As optional item Ami Ami zero included the black samurai themed hairclip Jubei is wearing all the time, you have to put in place by yourself, it’s equipped with thin doublefaced adhesive tape since it’s very sticky there is no real danger of loosing it.

A alluring face expression with slanted eyes and a lustful mouth, would also have been a fitting choice considering the overall apppearance of this Jubei figure, but with the recreated expression of childish, cheerful innocence this figure is true to her origin in the light novel and anime show.

The round face is showing dark eyebrows and striking blue eyes with subtle blushmarks below.
Jubei has a tiny nose and is presented with a deeply engraved open mouth the lower lip is slightly sculpted and is painted with a nice faint glossy finish, she’s actually very cute like that.

Body & Outfit

The figure is without a doubt very sexy and has a very well defined body with broad hips and a sexy waistline and other nice curves, the details on her belly look really appealing, one would like to poke an tickle her :D. The very good sculpting can also be found at the back, the round butt looks especially great, further above she also has  nicely defined scapulas. The accurately applied shading effects on her body accentuate her sensual features even more. The figure has a kneeling pose with a attractive arched back, with one hand she is playfully stretching her bikini slip (๑¯ω¯๑)

What I always like about figures are single sculpted fingers and the sculptor Ozawa Shingo put a lot of attention to these little fingers they look quite lifelike. The toes also appear very detailed and like the nails on the fingers they are painted. The posing of her left hand is no homage to the German Metal festival “Wacken“. In Japan this sign means something like “I love you”.

Yagyu Jubei has quite the revealing bikini which is nice, the level of detail is really good, I really like the seamlines and wrinkles. The thin bikini material is very well recreated overall. The slip has a tight fit and so not much is left for imagination at her private parts. A castoff feature is also integrated in this figure, the bikini top comes off easily, but you have take off the head and arms before. The white rope bracelets do a good job with hiding the area where the arms seperate.

Her breast actually aren’t as big as expected, sure the arched back lifts them up quite a bit, but underneath the bikini top they appear “normal” sized compared to some legendary cleavage figures in my collection. I really like the shape of Jubei’s breasts, her nipples are in a neutral state and are painted in a pastel pink color. With such a bright red bikini you would think about some nasty paint transfer all over her body, but fortunately that’s not the case with this figure.

To dress this redheaded darling up again there are little spikes made of wire at the ends of the straps of her bikini who slide in into the holes of her bikini pants, in most pictures I was too lazy to put them back into the holes, but it’s possible to display her in more proper way like I did here.

Final Words

I’ve ordered this figure mainly out of curiosity and actually had subdued expectations, so now I can say that she turned out a lot better than expected. Jubei has a cute face and her well defined body is just hot and sexy. This figure really has a superior body sculpting and the overall quality of her is also very good. This was my second figure of Ami Ami zero and Im quite satisfied again.

Since this figure is so detailed Ami Ami zero could have easily sculpted her at a bigger scale, like the with first Hyakka Ryouran figures they’ve made, but since the actual lineup is done at 1/8 it can’t be helped. Despite all the praise for this Jubei there are a few not so good points; the base for example is very, very simple. I expected a bit more than clear blue disk with no engraved text.

Another not so nice part is the stability of her pose a little more rough vibrations when she’s placed on a desk or an while taking pictures on uneven floor makes her flip over easily.  Well, she’s not completely instable, when left alone on a shelf, the figure won’t cause such problems.

Today I have this lovely angel with pink hair on review she’s called Nanael and her origin is Queen’s Blade. I bought the 2P Color Limited Edition, Nanael is a 1/8 scaled figure which was manufactured by Megahouse and released in December 2008. I saw that figure before but at that time I wans’t very interested, until I saw pictures of her at howagirlfiguresl. The blue version she reviewed was already sold out so I took the 2P Color Version which I found for a fair price.

Nanael is a character from the anime show Queens Blade, I admit that I’ve watched the two seasons of this show and enjoyed them quite a bit. Nanael is an energetic angel with a bad personality, she is  greedy and is mainly interested in her own profit, but at some points in the show she shows her good heart. Nanael was my the first figure from MegaHouse that I’ve ever bought, on first look she already appears very pretty, but lets take a closer look at her.

Hair & Face

Nanael has a short pink hair cut, her hair has nicely sculpted strands and shows some nice dark shading at the tips. With her open mouth the face has a very cheerful expression, the deep mouth is sculpted very detailed and shows a nice upper line of her fronteeth. There is a lot of detailism in Nanael’s clear blue eyes. In combination with the blush marks and the strongly defined eyebrows her face is done very well and appealing.

Outfit & Body

Nanael is wearing a light and short summer dress which is painted in a shiny pear white color. I like the wrinkles at the end, that give the illusion of Nanael flying around in the sky. It’s also nice how the dress seems to have become to small for her boobs. Around her waiste there is a nice brown belt, that holds her holy  milk bottle, it’s an important item for Nanael. The dress is so short that her plump thighs, the polka dot panties and her butt are revealed easily. More heavy parts of her armor are the gloves and the armor at her legs, which looks really cool. The dark shading on the armor and the detailed belt behind her knees add some more realism to it.

As to be expected from a Queen’s Blade figure Nanaels dress is also castoffable, you have to take off her head and open the brown belt before, then you can open the white dress at the left side and pull it off. Nanael has a well sculpted body, she is a little bit chubby character with some meat overall, which I like a lot. Nanael has nice and fairly sized breast, but it’s no exxagerated size unlike it can be seen on other busty characters from the Queens Blade franchise.

Kibayashi Norio @MegaHouse nailed down her appearance from the anime very well, sculpting and shading are especially well done. Nanael looks good dressed and nude, but I slightly prefer her dressed look, the dress is cute and a bare breasted flying angel looks slightly funny. One of her wings is chastened which I never really noticed in the first half of the QB anime.

 Pose & Base

The base is a clear round plate which holds the figure very stable at one foot, the base also has a moveable holder for the sword, but Nanael can also hold the sword in her left hand. The pose is very well done with the posing of her legs she seems like she takes off from the ground,Her head is tilted to the left which also the side where she looks best. The dress has a good looking flow it seems like it is blowing in the wind,during her flight.

Shooting Session
The first indoor shooting didn’t turn out like I expected, but then I came up with an idea for an outdoor shooting. I wanted to photograph her with the sky as background, so I had to attach a plate onto the tripod to place Nanael on it and extended the tripod to an height of 1,75m. Well, to be honest it was a bit shaky, but luckily Nanael didn’t hit the ground.

Final words

MegaHouse’s Nanael 2P Color Version is a very well done figure, the figure as well as her clothes have nice details plus a dinamic pose. The 2P Color Limited Edition has a good looking color sheme, but I would have preferred the wing color from the normal version in a cloud like white color than in tainted looking grey/black.

When buying figures I don’t really care about the origin what counts the most for me is the look.

It happens very often that I see older figures by chance which I really want to own and then when you’ve decided that you really want it, in most cases the figure is sold out everywhere.
This was also the case with Clalaclan. Well there were several items at ebay for 140€, but no thanks that is way too much. After some weeks I got her from ebay for 50€ from a guy in my country. Its nice when you don’t have to pay horrendous shipping cost from time to time XD.

Her base looks like something from Tupperware but it’s ok because its very small. Clalaclan wears a white and shiny dress which has some very nice silver details. Her dress also has a lot of frills from her skirt to the sleaves. Clalaclan is castoffable so you can pull her big skirt off, only the skirt not the shirt XD then you have a better view at her beautiful long legs. Around her waiste she wears a blue foundation garment like thing, which adds a bit of contrast to her overall bright white appearance.

Her face expression looks very friendly and calm, she has detailed green eyes. on her head she has a silver crown. The paintjob of her face and her upper body is nearly not noticeable her hair looks also a bit plain, painted shadows or highlights are only on her dress and her legs. Well that sounds worse than it actually is in a shadow area she looks a bit plain but with some light she looks really good.

What first meets the eye is her voluptuous cleavage which looks nice, on the other hand her butt is very flat so in real life she would probably fell over :D.She wears realistc looking white thigs highs whith nice ornaments at the top and fitting white shoes. Clalaclan comes with a shield which can hold in her hands.

Final words

Clalaclan is a nice figure with some really good details at her dress, the paintjob at the skin of her upper body and the hair could have been a bit better. Nevertheless Clalaclan is a good looking figure with a friendly face and an attractive body. The pose looks good and is stable,overall im very satisfied with this figure.

Next time we will have a review about Alter’s Al Azif figure which lately arrived at my house.
