A few weeks have passed since my last figure review, I just wasn’t in the zone, but today we will take a look at the Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown, one Wonderful Hobby Selection figure made by Good Smile Company.  The figures origin is the fantasy Rpg Dragon’s Crown by ATLUS. I did not have the chance to play it, but I bought the top expensive merchandise.

The pretty figure was released on the 6th of June 2016, Sorceress is scaled 1/7 with base she measures 24 cm and was sculpted by Deira. She was sold as GSC Shop exclusive under the Wonderful Hobby Selection label, it is an expensive thing, I feel like I spent a small fortune. I decided to get her nevertheless, I liked her presentation and playful, flirty look.

Though my first impression actually wasn’t really wonderful, the figure was shipped already connected to the base. Unfortunately on it’s way to me this connection snapped and as I opened the box, the broken peg came in sight. Annoyed as I was, I politely contacted the support. It is a costumer friendly support, you send them a picture of the damage with a few written words and they will help you. Yes, GSC send me a spare base, I was glad at first. Unfortunately the spare base arrived with a broken peg, too! I was surprised, honestly, Are You Shitting Me! Well, a reasonable demand would have been to ask for another base. I did not since I considered the damage spare base as an insult and so I fixed it myself somehow.

When everything is assembled, the figure has a cool and dynamic design. The figures pose shows burlesque incluence, a bit funny and a bit teasing. she is sitting or nearly lying on her interesting base with one leg pointing at the sky and her magical wand at hand. The base is quite a little diorama, a pile of nicely painted rocks, piled up on a stone floor with a scary skeleton soldier included. Also more smaller details are to discover, like the ” missing” shoe.

The figure is really attractive with her mature lady appearance and all the sex appeal. I love her face the most, though. The position of her eyebrows and the narrow painted eyes are so sexy and show the confidence of a real lady. I also like her distinctive full and glossy lips, she has such a lovely face overall. It’s framed by this pretty, curled, red – brown hair. The strands of it look great and elaborately sculpted. I really admire the effort that the sculptor put into making a really beautifully sculpted and painted face with some sexy direction (/∇＼*)｡o○♡.

Sorceress controversial ingame design is a little different compared to the figures, her breast size was reduced a lot for this figure and somehow the face portrays her in a more cheerful way than before. Still, she’s nicely buxom with wide hips, her reduced in volume, cleavage turned out so marvellous. Apparently she has very long legs, look at these mighty thighs, too.

The Sorceress is wearing a rather classic looking witch outfit, ok it has the focus set on being seductive with a corsage accentuated by lace, fingerless gloves and also a widely flowing dark purple skirt she looks very appealing, not to forget her lovely big witch hat, it’s so cool.

After unpacking and dealing with the protective film, the figures clothes are seriously dissaranged. Getting the belt closed as it was before took more than one attempt and paint transfer happened around her waist. One other thing is that her magic wand likes to fall off easily, the connection peg is a bit too short. In my opinion the Sorceress is a nicely desinged figure, but mass production appeared a little rushed on her, base connection and assembly after getting rid of the protective film, tarnish the otherwise positive impression.

Final Words

Ignoring the high price and the unexpected broken base incident one can’t deny what a beautiful figure GSC’s Sorceress is. The details and sculpting is indeed very appealing. The slightly alternative style of the Sorceress character looks really attractive, it’s a nice complex figure. Not perfect though, in the end I honestly have to say that, I expected a bit more from the Wonderful Hobby Selection name. I probably won’t try to buy another figure from that line. Although, the latest figure, Kouwan Seiki is really, really cute (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))).

Maken-Ki! – Nijou Aki 

I watched Maken-Ki! some time ago and also follow the new season, while it is going a bit crazy about cup sizes of the dreadknought class I enjoy it a lot. The characterdesign is cute with some of the girls being more buxom all around. I’m happy that a well established company is making a Maken-Ki! figure. Nijou Aki is the friendly school nurse with an amazing body, a promising figure.

Dragon’s Crown – Sorceress 

Orchid Seed also showed an early prototype of the so polarising Sorceress in all busty glory ^^. Actually I’m much more drawn to great looking face and the cool hat, she will be a stunning figure in the end. I have to say it turned out much better than the one from MegaHouse, don’t know why they are giving so strangely tilted heads to their Dragon’s Crown line up. Also good news that she is sheduled to be finished or at least ready for being preordered this year.

Triage X – Sagiri Yuuko

I’m not that familiar with the manga Yuuko comes from this manga, but like Highschool of the Dead, it’s also illustrated by Satou Shouji. Im not super interested, but for some reasons I like the concept.

Kantoku – Original Character 

This among many, many, many, many many of the unfinished prototypes from Orchid Seed are something I’m really looking forward to, seeing it from a positive side I think we won’t have to wait much longer, at least not longer than we already did. The clumsy Kantoku girl is really sweet with her baking tools and ingredients.

Sex Life – Saotome Maria – Toshihide Sano 

This illustration picked my interested, I guess it’s a new one, portraying a most beautiful woman in white transparent lingerine, I’m totally enchanted by the facial expression.

Soukou Akki Muramasa – Sansei Muramasa Oasis ver.

Sansei Muramasa became more popular these days, Wing also had two figures of her, maybe I should have listed one. I already have the beautiful maid figure of her. Having her in a more skin revealing manner might be nice considering that she’s smokin hot, it depends on the face, if I will be interested in purchasing her or not.

It’s a funny loli in a cute swimsuit, I was surprised about her cuteness as I found her illustration, the big ribbon is kawaii, she might turn out as an appealing loli figure.

The Seven Deadly Sins – Beelzebub

That is probably the last 7 sins figure I’m planning to add to Leviathan and Mammon, Hiroshi managed to give her an interesting straight pose, I like the position of her arms, the cute outfit with the clear parts it’s a real eyecatcher, also the red wings are lovely.

Dragon’s Crown – Tiki – Dwell 

The painted Tiki looks more like a Garage Kit, but I assume they were in a hurry to present her painted, the final figure should be without so much gloss. I like her wild twintails and the petiteness of her fairy body. The Gremlin eyes give her a darker presence than expected.

Oh I love her characterdesign, she is cute, quite petite and also wears glasses. Unfortunately with pulled down panties, a family pack of condoms and sextoys in her bag the lewdness of the figure  is so bold, that probably have to pass on this purcase. Too bad, but Native has more great  slightly less bold figures planned like the two illustrations below imply.

This is a really cool looking concept  of a sexy nurse, she looks great with her playful smile and the nonchalant seductive pose. If they will deliver her with this gyn chair I just want to sink into the floor, but at least she is wearing panties ;D I would like to see her figure soon, Native.

Space Dandy – Honey – Excellent Model

You can also have a figure of Space Dandy himself, Space Dandy is a cool dude, but in this case waitress Honey would be my choice. Honey is an attractive girl with this certain style of the 60’s. For some reason MegaHouse prevented frontal shots to be taken. And you ?

This is an adorable and funny Idolmaster figure, I don’t like Miki that much, but I’m looking forward to see this figure painted, might look very nice.

Yes, there already was a Manga version of Illya, I think the new version looks a bit better, it’s a more energetic pose, the head is bigger and her little girl appearance is cuter.

Chiho chan is a cute girl, sprting the Mc Ronalds beach uniform. The sculpting of her small yet curvy body looks very well done, you can enjoy all her little extra meat here and there.

This is surprisingly seductive, but more promising than all the Rias Gremory figures so far.

Sword Art Online – Asuna & Yui

Penguin Parade surprised with a rather awesome figure combination inspired by Sword Art Online. Asuna in her pajamas  interacting with her adorable “cyber daughter” Yui on the bed/ couch/ whatever. This is so sweet and looks very promising, I hope theywill sell this as a set.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS – Minato Tomoka – Bunny Style

Let’s finish this post as questionable as it already started, but with a small girl in a bunny suit. The second season of Ro-Kyu-Bu! was not that enjoyable as befor, somehow I managed to finish it, but it was rather lackluster. Tomoka is probably the most likeable character with the innocent, little crush on her coach. The figure appears cute with the shortness of her body and the expressive pose, also  Tomoka’s nice hair. The colors should look good on her, I assume.

I could have finished this part #2 a bit earlier to be honest, but anyway the first Wonfes of 2014 was a great event for many figure friends and me, lets hope that we’ll see them finished soon.
A few figures already went up for preorders and I assume the rest of the already painted samples will follow soon.

It has been around 4 months since my last New Preorders post, so here is a new one.
Thanks to all the delays from last year, 2014 is already rather crowded with preordered figures which will without question influence this years upcoming preorders in an inconvenient way.

Cerberus – Rage of Bahamut

Yes, I like demon girls a lot and for some reason this list is full of them

When thinking about figures from Rage of Bahamut Olivia from Kotobukiya comes to mind, since I don’t like her design that much and also decided that I won’t buy a Kotobukiya figure again for once (Im not really serious here as you will see later) I’m happy that Max Factory brought their painted prototype and preorders for Cerberus were opened recently.

I also played the smartphone card game “Rage of Bahamut” this girl is based on, it features a number of other pretty demon girls, but the performance is kind of bad on my device.

Cerberus is a pretty girl with a hell of a cute face, twintails and beast ears, she’s rather petite, not too tall with meaty thighs and a fancy, skin revealing outfit. The gold and gloss look spectacular on her soft skin. The doggy gloves/hands are kinda funny, but give her something cheerful, without basis I think she will be delivered with optional hands to satisfy more customers.

Mammon – The Seven Deadly Sins

This is going to be my first Sins figure from Orchid Seed, it should be better qualitywise, than Amakuni. Leviathan is a lovely figure, but the bad cast off still leaves a little bad aftertaste.

Im not planning to buy the complete set of the 7 deadly sins, but the figures I like the most are of interest to me I might get Belphegor and Beelzebub next.  Mammon is an adult woman and actually a mother. She is without a doubt a very curvy girl with big boobs and a butt of similar size. I like her overall design, the voluptuous body, the outfit with all it’s details and the pose where she carries a basket full of demon food. Her face is beautiful and the drill hair as well.

Sonico – Super Sonico The Animation – Figma – Swimsuit version

Do you follow the Sonico anime? I watch it and I like the slow paced slice of life concept, it is close to the setting of Sonicomi, but without cameraman san. I better stay away from any MAL discussion, since it would only annoy me, some complained that there was too much fanservice and some that there is not enough of it. The show is very cute and has a kind setting, I’m glad that they made no idiot out of Sonico, she is in college and actually a dilligent student.

The figma comes with the first volume of the Soniani Blu Ray, it was sold out within minutes, lucky me didn’t wait too long. She looks adorable and I imagine it to be a fun figma to take along in my summer vacation. I love how  curvy she is and how she is holding a swim ring. It appears to be one of the newer figma frames, her hip joints are nicely covered.

Sonico – Nitro Super Sonic – Santa, Swimsuit version

Why have I ordered this again? It’s a Sonico bikini figure with christmas decorations from ALTER.
The figure wears a friendly smile on her face and is sculpted in a sweet gravure idol pose and shows a really pretty cleavage. Don’t expect her to be castoffable, it’s already uncommon to see such a hottie made by ALTER

Mushanokouji Iwai – Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – BEACH QUEEN

It’s a tiny little doll with cheerful eyes, I’m kind of glad that she was restocked, the first batch was sold out immediately. She has two maid workmates and I’m partially interested to add this one with the white hair and black uniform.

Amazon – Excellent Model – Dragon’s Crown

Amazon is a strong girl with a set of muscles, still she looks still very feminine in my eyes.
What I like the most is her nice hair and the beautiful face, these blue eyes are so expressive.
An 1/7 scale is rather unusual for this manufacturer, but it is a nice change, to make something bigger. I find it great how Megahouse applied the shading on the very detailed sculpted body.

Two things that bother me, is that her top is too low, where are her nipples supposed to be? and her thighs still look a bit extreme.

Super Sonico – Mouse version

Haha I hope Sonico doesn’t like cheese, that for sure took long until preorders finally opened.
With her tongue out Sonico has a light naughty expression, a little more assertiveness suits her.
The mouse eared figure comes with a huge cheese themed base, The girl looks charming and the focus on her butt is quite nice. I think I like this figure enough to justify a purchase

Mei Sagara – Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!

This girl has a lot of cute megane (glasses) appeal, but somehow she forgot most of her clothes.

Leafa  – Fairy Dance – Sword Art Online

That looks like a great Leafa figure, deep green friendly eyes, pointy ears and a really nice rack.
She’s really pretty and the base fits very well to her, like a small diorama.

I always preferred the other girls in Sword Art Online instead of Asuna, in particular Leafa / Suguha but I found it silly that people started to dislike Asuna as she was trapped in a golden cage. The figure looks lovely in the promo shots, unfortunately this figure was made by the same sculptor as Kobato, like you all know, I didn’t really enjoy, after all. I better play safe this time and try to get her after release in case I like the final product.

Makoto Harada – Yamato Girls Collection – Yamato 2199

Have you ever watched the old Uchuu Senkan Yamato? It’s a combination of the old Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. I did and it was awesome, it sucked that I had to watch the last episode in english, to be fair, the japanese dub also was far from good at first, bu that improved quickly. Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is a more modern version with fantastic animations. Makoto Harada is the top nurse on the ship and assists the doctor with sake.

As big fan of the show I would like to have her. I love the cute design of her, the sweet face, the fashionable pink suit and the dynamic pose, she has exchangle faces and arms.

The Muse of Range Murata – JC.COM

I’d never believe this lovely GK figure would be adapted as PVC figure, but no it even is from ALTER and of a large scale. The girl is based on the art of Range Murata, it’s a cute and attractive design with a scarf, boots and gloves and cute underwear. A chair is also part of this great figure.

Billy the Kid – Eiyuu*Senki GOLD

A wild, slender girl with a cowboy – bikini dress and a watergun, I find her design totally appealing, she’s proud and has a dominant appearance despite from being half naked.

I’m a bit lost here, march, april and may will be full of cool figures, any suggestions what I should get? If I didn’t have brought so many figure preorders from 2013 in the new year, I could order more freely without stressing myself.
