I ordered myself that probably overpriced figure of Narmya, although she looks cute and comes with a gigantic dioran base. I always loved Granblue Fantasy, but didn’t order any figure based on the origin, this is probably the best I could go for and so I don’t think I will regret purchasing her.

Seishori Sister Petronille – Regular Edition – Vibrastar

And here we have a fantasy style nun with a beautiful face, coincidentially it’s also made by Vibrastar.

Sister Olivia – Vibrastar

A slutty nun became a rather popular topic in the figure industry recently and I think that one is quite lovely. A two face option and a cast off feature, she also has inverted nipples. I like this expression a lot.

Sakura Kinomoto – Cardcaptor Sakura Anime 25th Anniversary – Furyu

This cute figure of Sakura is quite great looking and looks like the cheerful character from the anime. As late fan of CCS I have really fond memories of the show, even though it was an anime intended for the younger audience.

Kashino – Hot Springs Relaxation – Mimeyoi

This Kashino design is cute. Ok, the boobs look a bit difficult to handle, but I don’t mind, the figure looks great overall. It’s a big figure, but the pose would make it not impossible to display the figure somewhere . I don’t really understand the hype for 1/4 scale figures, the size is somehow problematic and not intended when you want to have more figures.

Miki Narahashi – Frog

A figure I have been watching the figure since the early prototype stage. I like the lewd volleyball theme, the girl looks great. Although with 39 cm and 30,000 Yen it turned out bigger and more expensive than anticipated, I’m still very interested.

Rikka Takarada – Wall Figure – Good Smile Company

I really like the idea of a figure on a swing, it’s an usual metaphor in the coming of age theme in anime. This figure of Rikka can hang around somewhere. Included is an installation set. Rikka looks adorable and the pose makes it even better, but the low price is still somewhat surprising.

Marin Kitagawa – My Dress-Up Darling – Max Factory

The figure looks great, but I’m not entirely convinced by this Marin figure, of course she shouldn’t be bad, since Chieri is one of my favorite sculptors, I should not be dissatisfied with the figure anyway.

Hatsune Miku – GT Project Racing Miku: 2023 Ver. – Good Smile Company

I like this Toridamono styled Miku, she appears really cute and funny with her fang and hyper expression. Of course we also have those lovely thighs and a great looking outfit.

Fuyuko Mayuzumi – Off.the.Re.cord Ver. – Alter

I honestly thought that was a figure of Yoshiko Tsushima, apparently it is not, but however I am always grateful when a GK kit is adapted into a PVC figure and this one was even chosen by Alter, it should be awesome in the end

I really like the concept of this figure, but I have never heard of the manufacturer, what happens a lot recently, as old figure collector I’m more used to buying from manufacturers I grew up in this hobby. It’s a very styles and expressive design I should probably give it a try.

Suzu Kanade – Exorcist Ninja Costume Ver. – Union Creative

Suzu is quite adorable in her ninja outfit and her proportions are quite nice. The figure puts the focus on the wide hips and round butt. I only watched a few episodes of her origin, but it seems to be funny and entertaining.

Tsuduri Amagasa – Shy Girls in Love – Goldenhead+

I don’t know who this character is and I probably bought more than enough bikini figures recently, although this figure shows a different flavor with her strong expression and the intention of getting the sun lotion applied by somebody.

Fox Fairy, Mo Li – Animester

Another unknown manufacturer, but I like what they did here, a beautiful fox lady with a very expressive face and dramatic make up.

Her origin is Hololive. Hololive and it’s appeal are totally beyond me, I was trying to learn more about hololive.
Then I got even more confused. Maybe it’s a sign of age that I don’t understand every hype anymore.

The vtubers are medicorely detailed 3D models that are brought to life by motion capturing. Real girls act and talk behind the scenes, they are designed like anime characters and have upbeat personalities. It’s anarchy on youtube, they do talk about normal topics like gaming, but they also use adult language and sexual topics. They are cracking jokes that they probably would not make without their virtual avatar. People having fun with virtual youtubers, my ignorance should not bother anyone of you, I won’t discriminate anyone who is into this kind of entertainment. Since I even bought Hololive merchandise it can’t be a completely bad thing.

This figure is an adaptation of the Minato Aqua character, it shows Minato Aqua as Aqua Iro Super☆Dream♪ version, based on a quite elaborately styled 2D Live costume.

Her sculptor was Chen Tian. when I checked out about the sculptors other works, I discovered that this dude only made Nendoroids so far. as I unpacked the figure though, all worries dissolved instantly.

This Minato Aqua figure was released in February 2023, it was on Valentines Day. She is scaled 1/7 measuring 24 cm.

Minato Aqua has a very cute hairstyle by default, her character description says something like her head is resembling a red onion, which is not especially flattering. In this figure adaptation her hair looks nothing but fantastic, the spiral twintails are super cool and with the dual color application it’s getting even better.

The figure has an extremely cute face with very detailed eye decals, she is wearing an open mouth in shape of a simplified cat head, what works surprisingly well and makes Minato even more adorable. The strong blush is quite nice.

The dress of this figure is just wonderful with a terrific level of detail and complexity, the figures dress is a combination of a wedding dress and princess outfit. The multiple layers of her skirt create an idea of volume and movement, the outside is white and the inside is pink, it’s also decorated with big purple and turquoise ribbons, the smooth sculpting is creating an overall cozy and fluffy atmosphere.

There are further nice little details, like the anchor, the chain around her waist or the tiara with it’s nice metallic shine and great level of detail. Also the collar with the sweet little necklace adds a lot to this figures appeal.

Her high corsage is nice, it accentuates the girls ample breasts and creates a subtle cleavage, the little cleavage is just about the right amount of revealed skin right, it’s a cute addition of fanservice, from the backside you can see Minato’s nice back and shoulders. The figure shows a good amount of feminine appeal without the fanservice getting out of hand.

The focus on the frill, the dynamic sculpting and overall smooth texture are remarkable. You’ll will get drunk from all the kawaii this outfit emits, the white gloves adding a bit more to princess like appearance, again the frill makes everything more cute and enchanting.

Her star shaped base with turquoise painted outline and anchor symbol in the center, the elevated angle gives the figure an dynamic appearance and shifts some attention to the star shaped base with it’s smooth corners. The figure with it’s dynamic pose is slightly tilted forward, when finding a place to display it would be good for her to be not on the lowest spot of your display cabinet(s).

I’m not very familiar with the character, but the quite lovely design of Minato Aqua – Aqua Iro Super ☆ Dream is appealing enough for me to justify purchasing a figure of a character, that I didn’t know much about in the first place. I’m very pleased about just how well that figure has turned out, she has an remarkable high quality, the sculpting of everything is very good, from the dynamically sculpted hair, to the details of her fantastic looking outfit. And there is also the adorable anime style face of hers

Once again Otaking lend me some help and advise about the text for this review, I’m quite grateful about the help.

I probably haven’t logged into my Kancolle account since 3 years, but I have fond memories of the time where I played actively and took care of the adorable ships girls. Too bad that I was forced to use an VPN every time I wanted to play.

Today I will show you one of my older grails that I always wanted since it’s release. I recently purchased this Kouwan Seiki, She is also known as Harbour Princess from the Kancolle game. This figure was manufactured by Max Factory and released in 2017. She’s been sculpted by Akimof and is scaled 1/8 with measures 155 mm in height.
On release her price was around 18.000 yen, which still was a lot at that time.

The figure is also part of the Wonderful Hobby Selection line of Max Factory. In 2016 I received the Sorceress from the WHS line which was a bad joke partially. The figure of course looked great, but arrived with a broken peg that prevented me from setting up the figure, Max Factory was kind enough to send a spare part, but that also arrived broken … .

That experience actually prevented me from preordering. You can probably imagine how I felt when I opened that figures package earlier this year, but fortunately everything was fine and without flaw.

Kantai Collection is not at its prime days anymore, nevertheless the character design hasn’t lost it’s appeal. Kantai Collection has been a super popular gatcha game that convinced figure manufacturers that gatcha game characters attract more customers than purely anime based characters.

If anyone of you wonders about the sparkles in the pictures background, it is a polycarbonate board with sculpted water droplets on the surface, with the right amount of DOF (depth of field) and light it creates a lovely bokeh.
To match the figures partially eerie atmosphere I decided for purple as main color. As flooring I used a small white carpet and spread some bigger and smaller rocks above, to create some ocean bottom. I thought that the fishing net would be a matching addition to the set.

Coming up with a stage has always been kind of a challenge, compared to earlier years figure photography became more challenging and ambitious. I think I became a little bad recipient, it’s really frustrating. Some fellow figure photographers invest an immense amount of work to create diorama like settings, it’s amazing! I always see myself debating about how much work I want to invest in a figures set and if it is worth the effort.

Figures of antagonists are generally a rare event, except they are especially remarkable. Kancolle has cool designs, also for the Abyssals that were turned into figures, like Kuubo Wo-kyuu or Senkan Re-kyuu, Kouwan Seiki convinced me the most.

Since then the gatcha game character based figures keep growing in numbers. As anime enthusiast this trend is regrettable for me, since less figures based on anime are made, but it can’t be helped these days.

Harbour Princess is a pretty figure with her ghost like white skin, the huge claws and pointy horn on the forehead, she is obviously a monster, but a cute one. The character design of Harbour Princess has been illustrated by Akira (アキラ)

Her shy and vulnerable expression are anything less than adorable. I really like the heavy eylashes design, they are even sculpted and not just lines from a brush, I’m also a big fan of the dramatic makeup anyway. The long hair is nicely done, it has smooth looking long strands and a cutely cut bangs. Her red eyes are very pretty and mesmerizing.

Haurbour Princess is dressed in something called “virgin killer sweater” which was a popular meme some years ago. The outfit has some dark grey weathering, living in the vast ocean surely has a few disadvantages for the Abyssal’s. Furthermore the sweaters vertical creases accentuate the characters dynamite body with the ample bosom, thin waist and quite wide hips. The sweater is also equipped with decorative black armor pieces, the style and pattern looks very interesting and pretty. As shoes she has some kind of kneesock boots with black sole.

Part of her outfit are also the separate sleeves, they have the same vertical creases as the sweater and those pretty black armoir bits, because of her big hands the sleeves have a huge opening, the mechanical claws have a nice roughed up look and intimidating design. Kouwan Seiki is portrayed as mature character with a well endowed and attractive body. Obviously, she also has nicely sculpted big boobs, the outfit also reveals a bit of sideboob which is a little bit risky, but nothing when compared to the shameless hotties from Azure Lane. The figure has really nice thighs.

The figure has been put in a kneeling pose, encircled by a muddy looking base, that intentionally shows traces of wear and destruction painted in shades of black and rusty brown. She is holding onto the remaining pieces of her once proud airfield. I like the tiny particles that have been applied on the runway, they give the illusion of glowing sparks.

Next to the main figure, sits the runway monster with its huge jaw, compared to Kouwan Seiki that is a really nasty monster with teeth and grey tongue.

Final Words

I like the figure a lot, she looks great and has an unique design, a bishoujo monster girl is something I didn’t have in my collection so far. It’s a great design with the dramatic makeup and the overall visual presentation is very well done. Is this figure worth the Wonderful Hobby Selection tag? I have a specific opinion about it.

Max Factory figures are already well done in general. WHS should bring something more. I think that the WHS manufacturing quality is not outstanding enough to justify it. A label like WHS should indicate the highest level of craftsmanship, and I don’t see this big difference on Kouwan Seiki and I definitely didn’t saw it at the Sorceress figure. They both had problems that take away from the overall quality. Nevertheless I’m really happy to have the Kouwan Seiki WHS in my collection now.

Sonico has been a favorite of mine, since I started with this blog. My first figure of her was the Sonico – Bondage version from Orchid Seed in 2011 and within the past 7 years I bought around a dozen more. Of course I parted with a few, but I always stayed a fan. Today I will show you my latest Sonico figure dress in a bridal outfit.

Recently the perfect figure for Sonico fans around the globe has been released, the Sonico – 10th Anniversary Wedding version from Good Smile Company. She was available in three version, a standard version, you’ll see in this review, as Marriage Box -SILVER- with two silver rings or as Marriage Box -GOLD- with two gold rings.

And here she is as cheerful bride, balancing on one foot. It was a fight to get her on the base, you would not believe it.

The wedding rings and marriage documents aside, the standard version is not different in any way, the figure is quite nice on it’s own, she has a cute additional “before kiss” faceplate and overall a beautiful design. I really like Sonico, but I passed on these wedding ring sets, also because of the price *cough*.

The design was provided by Tsuji Santa, who is behind the design for most Sonico figures, it’s truly amazing that his creations receive so much love and awareness. The illustration was adapted into a figure is the aspiring sculptor Chiaki.

The figure was released on June 25th, 2018. She is scaled 1/6 and measures 35 cm ! her base measures around 10 cm alone already *argh* she doesn’t fit in the shelf that way, 2 steps on the stair podest would have been enough.

The Sonico wedding version has fantastic hair with a wonderful sense of movement. I can’t remember a Sonico figure that had better looking hair, It’s super detailed with her usual soft, pastel pink color with a darker shade at the edge.

The face showcases Tsuji Santa’s current style of his long time Sonico project. The cute face has big eyes with a lively and nicely detailed iris. The bride shows a gentle, open mouth smile with wide front teeth line. The additional face isn’t any less appealing, the “before kiss” face creates a special atmosphere. With the lightly closed eyes and detailed eyelashes, her face looks so cute. There is also her pretty mouth with her soft shiny lips waiting to be kissed.

On first glimpse the sweet bride Sonico makes a strong impression, while towering on her stairs clad in velvet like material. The complex outfit with the huge skirt and all the cute details looks just impressive. the outfits pearl white color creates a beautiful harmony with the girls pale pinkish skin and honestly her design shows a lot of skin, it’s nice.

Sonico is presented in an as bold as beautiful dream in pearl white, I bet Sonico would be highly embarrassed to wear that during the official ceremony. It could have been a bit less skin revealing, the top looks a bit funny.

Her boobs are covered and supported by two thin straps with leads to this high amount of sideboobs, I’m not fully convinced by that part, it should have rather been a standard shoulderfree design with a tasteful cleavage. Of course her center cleavage looks beautiful, but I don’t know if a wedding dress needs to show side boobs. I partially really love her dress, although the wedding dress rather turned out to be an outfit for the wedding night.

Nevertheless the outfit has so many beautiful aspects, like the veil with the pastel blue and red roses and it’s other small details. Also the wonderful skirt with it’s fine details and soft folds. Around her waist, Sonico wears a fancy corsage with garterbelt that leads to her pretty stockings, the stretching effect has been adapted quite convincing. The high rising panties fortunately doesn’t cover much of her butt. The arm long gloves are very pretty, in her right hand Sonico can hold a beautifully arranged floral bouquet, the ribbons are sculpted in a playful and dynamic manner.

The design team has been quite generous about the wedding versions curves ♡♡♡.

Sonico has a stunning buxom body in this figure adaption, her boobs are quite voluptuous here, personally I would not mind less, her cleavage is really beautiful nevertheless. She also has such a big and prominent butt, it’s one of the appeal points of this figure. I really adore those wide hips and her juicy thighs. In between of this big ends hourglass Sonico keeps her envy provoking narrow waist, although she has a cute slight stomach. Her lower half is just so great and curvy, I love it. Her overall appearance makes her a desirable woman, who wouldn’t want to be her groom.

Final Words

The Sonico – 10th Anniversary Wedding version is a stunning Sonico figure. She has a beautiful appearance with a dress and face, that radiates a cheerful mood. The different face is a lovely extra, since it adds so much more to the figures concept. At 1/6 scale this figure is big, more than big enough to admire her amazingly curvy body, hips and butt are so sexy.  There is the option to display her without skirt to have a better view on these areas. All Together it makes her a great addition for any Sonico fan and supporter. If I would address an issue about the final figure, it would be the smaller gaps at the panties and midsection of the figure. Aside from that everything looks nice and clean.

You all know that I rarely buy Nendoroids or even try to review them. Sometimes I’m nevertheless convinced to order myself one of those deformed cuties. Currently I own Akihime Sumomo, Saber #121,Yoko Littner #053, Nao #073, Takamachi Nanoha #263, Minami Kotori #548, Sucy and last but not least Cu-Poche – Amami Haruka.

Sucy Manbavaran is one of the three main protagonist in Little Witch Academia, which is a quite lovely anime that aired in 2017, it has a really nice and cozy atmosphere. Furthermore it’s hilarious with brilliant comedy comments and crazy stunts. Little Witch Academia also reminded me of high school life, there are the typical character archetypes, the prodigy, the bullies and the “freaks”. Within the setting of a witch academy this set of characters turns into something very entertaining, not to forget the enchanting OST. The story begins when main heroine Akko enrolls in Luna Nova Magical Academy, she has the will to become a witch, but no noticeable talent at it and not the skill to ride a broom.

Without being mean it’s quite amusing how much she fails and how Akko ends up in awkward situations because of her lively personality. Akko starts to explore the academy and her own magic ability together with her loyal roommates and friends Lotte and Sucy. The episode based adventures are of these three are really enchanting and funny as hell.

Sucy is such a fun character, she often seems to be apathetic, but is full of sarcasm and sometimes also a little bit evil. When it comes to magic potions or mushrooms Sucy’s real passion awakens. Her magic ability is rather high, but it’s mainly used for pranks on others. She enjoys to make potions and to collect rare ingredients for them.

Sucy likes Akko, because she makes her daily life interesting, with her impulsive ideas and lack of talent. She often calls her stupid, but she actually likes her a lot. She appears not very compassionately, but when Sucy is together with her friends she is happy and will sometimes even show a smile. The subtle smile is not included on this Nendoroid.

Her faceplates have very funny expressions, my favorite is her evil and sadistic smile. She also has an apathetic face and another one where she seems to be under the influence of “drugs”, it’s hilarious to have such an unique faceplate.

This time I’ve put a lot of effort in the setting, to create a convincing witch den, fortunately I already had all the equipment from previous years photo sessions at hand and could go all out for the cute Sucy Manbavaran.

Nendoroid Sucy is great with two of her tiny hands she can hold things, the magic stick, mushrooms or the potion which is also included. What I also really like about this Sucy is that she is able to stand own her own without support because of her floor long dress. Nevertheless with her hat she will be top heavy.

The last Nendoroid I’ve bought was Minami Kotori, when I took a look in the box of Sucy, I was quite surprised about the number of parts for her, aside from the usual Nendoroid parts like 3 faceplates and a stand there were quite a number of arms, cute hands and witch like parts to play with. This Nendoroid is really meant for playing around.

Final Words

Sucy Manbavaran as Nendoroid is a nice adaption from the anime, that I liked so much. I like Sucy’s unique and strangely adorable look, her uniform is pretty and the hairstyle that hides one of her eyes is quite attractive.
Also the dark eyelid makes the faceplates interesting and expressive. This Nendoroid came with so many parts, I’m not even sure if I used all of them. I won’t lie, it was much work with changing all the different parts back and forth during the photoshooting, but it was unproblematic. I enjoyed to play around with Sucy in this funny, spooky setup.

When I see how nice this small Sucy Manbavaran is, I regret it a little that I did not order the Akko Nendoroid,

Today I will show you GSC’s Miku in her Racing 2016 version figue adaption, although we have the year 2018 now.

Haha, but that has nothing to do with my little hiatus to be honest. Good Smile Racing is actually a real racing team founded and sponsored by GSC, as side effect, a new racing themed figure of Hatsune Miku comes out every year.

The release date was in January 2018. This figure has been sculpted by Nendoron and Urakawa Akinori, she is based on an illustration by Yoneyama Mai. This Miku Racing 2016 version is quite petite, she is listed as 1/8 scaled figure.

I don’t show much interest in figures of Hatsune Miku in general, this 2016 Racing version though really got my attention, she was so adorable and colorful on her pile of Yokohama tires, buy Yokohama. Racing version Miku’s tend to have a very futuristic grid girl design, the 2016 design features a rather normal outfit.

I also liked how Miku was adapted into with a cute sitting pose, I really like how she is placed on the pile of 3 tires. The figure has a sweet umbrella with a very detailed design. Altogether 3 speed stone animals are also included, optionally an energy drink can is balanced on the palm of the figures left hand with the help of a really thin peg,
I was a bit scared of breaking it, so this part isn’t present in many of my pictures in this post.

Miku is wearing a mainly white tube dress, it’s rather skimpy and underlines the characters petite body. The amount of revealed skin gives Hatsune Miku a slighty sexy touch.
The Good Smile Racing logo is placed over the chest area of the dress and the sponsors listed at her backside.

First lets take a look at Miku’s hair, it’s beautifully sculpted and has nicely curved twin tails with super curly tips. The color is pretty and the brighter highlights create a dynamic look. The long red ribbons make her hairstyle even cuter.

This figure portrays Hatsune Miku as really sweet girl, her facial details are especially adorable, big round eyes and an innocently opened mouth with a gently smile are going to melt your hearts.

Rainbow colors are a big topic on the Miku racing 2016 version, there are these lovely arm long gloves, the umbrella, her stockings with soft gradient from yellow to red, the stockings end with straps which are attached to her panties, it’s amusing to see such accesory on the overall innocent design of the figure, but it doesn’t look unnatural.

Another very good aspect of this enchanting figure is the complexity and the realistic presentation of the figures articulation. Starting from the placement of her legs, to the bend over upper body or the sweet outstretched arm. Thanks to her supporting hand, it is possible to place this Miku figure on other objects than her base.

Final Words

The Hatsune Miku – Racing 2016 version figure turned out especially nice, her pose shows a great realistic style articulation and she has lovely sculpted hair. Miku’s adorable facial expression creates a lively looking figure.
The petite appearance is adding a lot to her cuteness, the small size nevertheless still shows an amazing level of detail. I really like the in comparison simple or better said down to earth design of a grid girl outfit.
Preparing “Miku’s garage” was a bit more time consuming than I thought and heavily delayed this review.

 
On the 30th of July, this years Wonder Festival [Summer] was held, all the different manufacturers came together to present their upcoming figures and prototypes. Often it’s an exciting day for me, this year it was a bit less enjoyable.

Normally the mix of painted and grey prototypes and Illustrations that were chosen for figure adaptions make wonfes enjoyable for figure collectors, but this time nearly everything shown was a grey prototype, I really expected to see some prototypes from the last Wonder Festival being painted. Fate Go and Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata ♭ -seemed a bit hyped. There were of course some nice figure prototypes I will show you my favorites here in my small summary.

Ooyodo – Kantai Collection

Kancolle figures aren’t as popular as in previous years, but they are still being made. I like Ooyodo and it is nice to see her painted, she looks just great and just enchanting. Apparently this figure doesn’t heavily rely on fanservice, it’s mainly a good design.

I liked the butterfly lady from FLARE, the more realistic character design makes it quite interesting and the overall look is also appealing.

Saber – Okita Souji – Fate/Grand Order

I tried my.best to ignore everything labeled Fate GO but this cute adaption of Saber is just right up my alley. Some months ago I already saw the beautiful garage kit and so the news of it getting a Pvc figure adaption makes me extremely happy.

I really like that idea, the character is cute and even though it’s a nude figure, it’s not a naughty one, you even get a tripod with camera.

I also liked this funny figure, cheerfully swinging around her whip. I think the sadistic but also happy expression gives her something specïal. The figures nice body also looks interesting, she ïs a DFC character with some seriously nicely endowed hips

I this high kick pose is cool Hopefully this Liliana won’t be as glossy as her other figures so far.

Non Virgin – Suguri Hiromi – Bunny Girl

While I really appreciate the style of Oda Non and the high level of craftsmanship, I don’t need the additionally lewdness with these rings and stuff XD Ahahaha but there will be more hot ladies in this lewd lineup.

Kuroinu ~Kedakaki Seijo wa Hakudaku ni Somaru~ – Olga Discordia

Next to that BINDing selected a few great looking illustrations to adapt into figures, with their level of qualïty I have high expectations of these projects. Can I expect to see a figure of the blonde Dark Elf in the future, too?

That’s all folks, this Wonderfestival 2017 Summer didn’t make me as happy as previous events, it still was nice to see a few interesting things. I feel a bit sad about the lack of Granblue Fantasy, I would have been so happy about a Lyria figure, I also would have liked to see a figure of Lailah (Tales of Zestiria the X).I don’t like that there were so many things from that hyped Fate Go, or other overly popular things, I would have prefered a bït more variety from the manufacturers. The nagging won’t stop here yet, I also expected to see some of the grey prototypes from the previous wonfes painted, did the Summer Wonderfestival came so surprisingly for the manufacturers?

How was your impression from the event?
Did you feel satisfied with everything and also saw some things you want?

In the end I would say that a limited number of must haves is good, considering the figure prices nowadays.

Yuudachi is based on Kantai Collection ~Kan Colle~ the once extremely popular browser game, it’s been a while since I’ve played, I honestly miss seeing and hearing all my cute shipgirls, but the game concept is so frustrating, starting from the login and going to the endless task of leveling up and always these long repair times after another failed map.

GSC created a wonderful figure of Yuudachi in her Kai Ni version, she was sculpted by Urakawa Akinori following an illustration of Kujou Ichiso. Yuudachi Kai Ni is scaled 1/8 and measures 22cm, I’ve purchased her for 12,980.00 JPY.

Yuudachi has a very cute face with detailed red eyes and a confident smirk. Overall she a a great and attractive expression. She has faint blonde hair, at the sides of her hair are flaps and wildly flowing strands placed further below with an orange gradient effect at the tips. On top of her head she wears a cute, small, black ribbon.

Yuudachi is actually just a Destroyer ship, the smallest type within a fleet, nevertheless her figure is combined with a big amount of parts. She has a really huge backpack that consist of one funnel with the decorative sail and red propeller, the backpack also carries her gun installations. The detailed guns can be rotated and elevated. At her legs the figure wears her torpedo launchers, on a closer look you see that the torpedoes Yuudachi is holding have funny faces.

The figure of Yuudachi is truly amazing, she is one of the more dynamic Kancolle figures, her pose indicatetes speed and agility and the girl really looks like she is having fun, the nicely made flame parts make her base look more attractive and underline the figures powerful pose. I guess Yuudachi is my favorite from all the Kancolle figures so far.

In the anime Yuudachi started as random Destroyer girl, cheerful and cute, but a rather bad student. After noticing how hard Fubuki tried to improve, she also wanted to get stronger, in the end she showed even more talent than the girl she admired all the time and became Yuudachi Kai Ni.

“I’ll show you the nightmare of Solomon” So lets have a short history lesson, but remember war is always a bad thing. Yuudachi is also referred to as Salomon no Akuma because of her historical counterpart.

In November 13th 1942 a group of the IJN fleet headed out to retake Guadalcanal, because of bad sight the IJN fleet and US fleet were on collision course and started engaging each other in close combat. Close quarter battles especially in he middle of the night are very dangerous for any ships, even with all the armaments, warships are actually very vulnerable under fire. Yuudachi was the first in the IJN fleets formation to break the enemy lines.

in between the US group Yuudachi fired everything at her disposal, creating confusion and damage on all the ships around her. With her fleets assistance Yuudachi actively sunk three ships, at the end of the battle she was damaged and unable to move, but really, most of the crew could be rescued by Samidare. Yuudachi’s actions prevented the IJN fleet from a disaster at least on that day. After the 40 minute long battle ended, the US group have been reduced to 2 remaining fully operateable ships, the chaotic close quarter combat proved that the ships of the IJN were actually really well made, but wasted in a war that never could have been won. Individual achievements, such as Yuudachi’s are quite rare in naval warfare. The other ships portrayed in Kancolle can’t really compete with Yuudachi’s war story.

It’s funny though that her “poi” which means something like “maybe” is related to rumors that other ships maybe should receive the credit partially. Anyway I actually don’t care about that, in the end or better said in her Kantai Collection fiction Yuudachi is a friendly and cheerful ship and it made this especially great looking figure possible.

Yuudachi is the second figure adaption of a Kancolle Shiratsuyu-class ship, the first one was Shigure, she also is a very nice figure, but compared to this exciting Yuudachi figure she is kind of plain, do you know how difficult it is to combine two figures in a picture, these two really gave me a hard time, their bases made it nearly impossible.

Final words

Yuudachi turned out very nice with her cute appearance and pretty black uniform, she is one of the prettiest Kancolle ship girl figures and unchallenged in terms of dynamic appearance, her standing one one leg and pushing forward in a bold manner pose looks cool and is articulated very well. The big mechanical backpack and surrounding flames the whole figure has an impressive, powerful look. Her figure is elaborately sculpted and extremely detailed, because of that some parts are really thin and the figure should be handled with care. Since the figure demands a bit of assembly work, I was a bit worried to break something, but everything fits neatly together.

Super Sonico Nuresuke Satsueikai

It’s been some time since I ordered an interesting Sonico figure or saw one that wasn’t a prize figure. I’m still a Sonico fan and fortunately the figure manufacturers never get bored of. This figure wears a casual street outfit, ok she accidently was hit by water, but what would Sonico be without a bit of fanservice here and there. The figure has a nice big 1/6 scale, DRAGON Toys figures often turn out really nice and this Sonico should turn out great, as well.

Peach Maid – Ami

Sorry I’m a perv (//∇//). Well, the first time I saw this maid figure at the last Wonderfestival, I already knew that I had to get her no matter what. In the first place, Ami has an amazingly nicely made face with a strong expression. On the other hand I also like all sorts of maids, even the half naked ones, I can’t deny that her ecchi bits were also a small convincing aspect.

Senran Kagura NewWave G Burst – Ikaruga – Circuit no Joou

Vertex announced a nice looking big scaled figure of Ikaruga in a skimpy outfit. She is one of my favorite Senran Kagura characters, she is a pretty girl and I also love long jet black hair.
The figure portrays her in a slightly bendover pose as grid girl with battle torn clothes. The characters in Senran Kagura are squishy in the right places and she is no exception. In 1/6 scale her attractive proportions are accentuated nicely, on their official blog Vertex also hinted her top is castoff able. On top of that Ikaruga also has a cute bashful smile.

THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls – Ranko Kanzaki Memories Ver.

I know someone who probably ordered this Idol figure at the speed of light ^^. I’m really convinced by ALTER’s Ranko figures, she has a cute face and wonderful red eyes.

Fate/EXTRA CCC – Saber Bride

I really like this figure adaption of Saber Bride a lot, judging from the promo pictures from Hobby Maxx. This Saber looks elaborately desinged with her dynamicly sculpted outfit and the pretty paintjob. I’m also enchanted by her sweet and gentle face. To get this figure with a stylish base you’ll have to buy her at shops like Big in Japan or Nippon Yasan for a little more.

Fire Emblem if – Camilla

Partially I like this figure because of her gorgeous color combination, purple, black and gold. The figure looks very pretty and somehow elegant. Her face also has a kind expression, like a lovely big sister. You know, I totally like these kind of hairstyles that keep on eye hidden.

Sanfujinka Shikeishuu Byouin Jack- Asami Akabane

FREEing adapted a naughty nurse fantasy into a big 1/4 scaled figure, Asamai is a mature woman with a hot and curvy body, apparently she has really big boobs and in general her uniform is tightly fitting. As you can see her body is sculpted and painted in a quite detailed fashion. She also has a quite unique face with a lot of paint which is unusual for figures of that scale. I’m not a big fan of the long and thin nose, aside from that she looks very attractive.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Honoka Kosaka

Honoka was a bit plain for a leader personality in Love Live! nevertheless ALTER made a wonderful figure of Honoka, following the Love Live! School Idol Festival “tradition” the figure is elaborately styled and her outfit is brimming with details, it makes her something special.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Kotori Minami

I was happy to hear about the re-release of this cutest Kotori figure, I kind of missed ordering her in the first round. The sheduled release it not the best timing for me though, it should be happened 6 months later. I love Kotori and this figure of her is simply amazing.

Dagashi Kashi – Hotaru Shidare

PULCHRA makes this creative eyecatching figure of Hotaru, chilling in a concrete tube, it looks like a promising sculpt with Hotaru looking like her anime counterpart with a nice face and a detailed outfit. I’m always very picky with figure adaptions from characters I really like, I didn’t like the Hotaru, that Max Factory showed earlier this year. This figure features one of Hotaru’s stylish outfits, I always liked the way she is dressed.

Murakami Suigun no Yakata Original – F-ism Vol.20 F-ism Shoujo

What I really like about this figure are her faces, she actually comes with two different ones. The figure itself wears a pretty shool uniform, though for some reason she is wrapped in funny bondage ropes underneath, I’m not really a fan of it, but I could probably cut it off somehow, if I would decide to really get her. With optional parts you can make this figure more questionable, so I don’t feel too fond of this figure in the end, because it’s all too much, even though she has extremely beautiful eyes. Make a normal figure like that you demons!

Hdge technical statue No.15 GANTZ:O – Reika X Shotgun ver.

Union Creative is a more or less unkown company nevertheless they aren’t afraid of making such a challenging sculpt of Raika in a stunning and shiny black bodysuit. The face looks nicely detailed and attractive. One of the figures striking features is also this nice, plump butt.

Racing Miku 2016 Ver.

This is probably the cutest Miku figure I’ve ever seen, her face shows the sweet curiosity of a cheerful young girl. As far as it concerns me, she is also the prettiest Racing Miku, without any futuristic hullabaloo. She is sitting on a pile of tyres and has a nice and lively articulated pose. This Miku is a very appealing figure with vivid colors and an overall adorable appearance.

Excellent Model LIMITED – Active Raid: Liko

Liko is a kind of mascot from the Active Raid anime, I could’nt bear to watch more than 5 episodes, but it wasn’t the fault of Liko. MegaHouse turned Liko into an expressive figure, very detailed and with nice colors. I really like her pretty eyes and the nicely flowing hair.

Oh My Goddess! – Belldandy – Me, My Girlfriend and Our Ride Ver.

I never took the chance to look at the Oh My Goddess! franchise, a few times I saw a Belldandy figure here and there. Here Belldandy  appears with a new look and artistic sculpt. Clad in a racing suit, she is a cheerful, sporty girl, sitting on a futuristic motobike like flying machine. I like it, the figure looks nicely detailed and the vehicle is extremely interesting.

Taimanin Yukikaze 2 – Rinko Akiyama Pole Dance Ver.

From the lewd ninja saga comes a creative pole dance figure of Rinko, she is a very pretty girl with a buxom body and a huge butt. The figure is really an ecchi gem as far as I can tell. She has an expressive face, a nicely detailed, purple bodysuit and the 1/7 scale is a nice size to show her amazingly sexy body. She also has another torso to display her with bare boobs.

KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm – Taiga Kougami

I like bishounen characters when they don’t look too girly or like one of these womanizer types with pointy chin. Taiga looks so cool also in this nonchalant outfit. Without knowing anything about his origin it’s a good looking figure with a really nice “bad mood” expression.

Gakusen Toshi Asterisk – Toudou Kirin

Ignoring the mainly disastrous second season, I liked Gakusen Toshi Asterisk quite a bit, also for it’s cute character desings. Kirin the shy girl with amazing sword skills was chosen to be the First, but hopefully not last adaption from that source. The attractive figure with it’s nice colors, especially the awesome shade of purple, portrays her serious and athletic side.

So we have reached the end of this oversized “New Preorders” post, maybe there was something interesting for you listed?, in summary the figure collecting hobby stays interesting, even with the current price level.

The End

A few weeks have passed since my last figure review, I just wasn’t in the zone, but today we will take a look at the Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown, one Wonderful Hobby Selection figure made by Good Smile Company.  The figures origin is the fantasy Rpg Dragon’s Crown by ATLUS. I did not have the chance to play it, but I bought the top expensive merchandise.

The pretty figure was released on the 6th of June 2016, Sorceress is scaled 1/7 with base she measures 24 cm and was sculpted by Deira. She was sold as GSC Shop exclusive under the Wonderful Hobby Selection label, it is an expensive thing, I feel like I spent a small fortune. I decided to get her nevertheless, I liked her presentation and playful, flirty look.

Though my first impression actually wasn’t really wonderful, the figure was shipped already connected to the base. Unfortunately on it’s way to me this connection snapped and as I opened the box, the broken peg came in sight. Annoyed as I was, I politely contacted the support. It is a costumer friendly support, you send them a picture of the damage with a few written words and they will help you. Yes, GSC send me a spare base, I was glad at first. Unfortunately the spare base arrived with a broken peg, too! I was surprised, honestly, Are You Shitting Me! Well, a reasonable demand would have been to ask for another base. I did not since I considered the damage spare base as an insult and so I fixed it myself somehow.

When everything is assembled, the figure has a cool and dynamic design. The figures pose shows burlesque incluence, a bit funny and a bit teasing. she is sitting or nearly lying on her interesting base with one leg pointing at the sky and her magical wand at hand. The base is quite a little diorama, a pile of nicely painted rocks, piled up on a stone floor with a scary skeleton soldier included. Also more smaller details are to discover, like the ” missing” shoe.

The figure is really attractive with her mature lady appearance and all the sex appeal. I love her face the most, though. The position of her eyebrows and the narrow painted eyes are so sexy and show the confidence of a real lady. I also like her distinctive full and glossy lips, she has such a lovely face overall. It’s framed by this pretty, curled, red – brown hair. The strands of it look great and elaborately sculpted. I really admire the effort that the sculptor put into making a really beautifully sculpted and painted face with some sexy direction (/∇＼*)｡o○♡.

Sorceress controversial ingame design is a little different compared to the figures, her breast size was reduced a lot for this figure and somehow the face portrays her in a more cheerful way than before. Still, she’s nicely buxom with wide hips, her reduced in volume, cleavage turned out so marvellous. Apparently she has very long legs, look at these mighty thighs, too.

The Sorceress is wearing a rather classic looking witch outfit, ok it has the focus set on being seductive with a corsage accentuated by lace, fingerless gloves and also a widely flowing dark purple skirt she looks very appealing, not to forget her lovely big witch hat, it’s so cool.

After unpacking and dealing with the protective film, the figures clothes are seriously dissaranged. Getting the belt closed as it was before took more than one attempt and paint transfer happened around her waist. One other thing is that her magic wand likes to fall off easily, the connection peg is a bit too short. In my opinion the Sorceress is a nicely desinged figure, but mass production appeared a little rushed on her, base connection and assembly after getting rid of the protective film, tarnish the otherwise positive impression.

Final Words

Ignoring the high price and the unexpected broken base incident one can’t deny what a beautiful figure GSC’s Sorceress is. The details and sculpting is indeed very appealing. The slightly alternative style of the Sorceress character looks really attractive, it’s a nice complex figure. Not perfect though, in the end I honestly have to say that, I expected a bit more from the Wonderful Hobby Selection name. I probably won’t try to buy another figure from that line. Although, the latest figure, Kouwan Seiki is really, really cute (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))).
