It has been around 4 months since my last New Preorders post, so here is a new one.
Thanks to all the delays from last year, 2014 is already rather crowded with preordered figures which will without question influence this years upcoming preorders in an inconvenient way.
In the meantime I ordered a few fancy plastic things nevertheless 6 new figures actually.

Cerberus – Rage of Bahamut

Yes, I like demon girls a lot and for some reason this list is full of them

When thinking about figures from Rage of Bahamut Olivia from Kotobukiya comes to mind, since I don’t like her design that much and also decided that I won’t buy a Kotobukiya figure again for once (Im not really serious here as you will see later) I’m happy that Max Factory brought their painted prototype and preorders for Cerberus were opened recently.

I also played the smartphone card game “Rage of Bahamut” this girl is based on, it features a number of other pretty demon girls, but the performance is kind of bad on my device.

Cerberus is a pretty girl with a hell of a cute face, twintails and beast ears, she’s rather petite, not too tall with meaty thighs and a fancy, skin revealing outfit. The gold and gloss look spectacular on her soft skin. The doggy gloves/hands are kinda funny, but give her something cheerful, without basis I think she will be delivered with optional hands to satisfy more customers.

Sorceress – Dragon Nest

Finally GSC changed this from a China only figure to something every collector could get their hands on. I was more than happy to be able to place my reservation for this cool looking figure.

Mammon – The Seven Deadly Sins

This is going to be my first Sins figure from Orchid Seed, it should be better qualitywise, than Amakuni. Leviathan is a lovely figure, but the bad cast off still leaves a little bad aftertaste.

Im not planning to buy the complete set of the 7 deadly sins, but the figures I like the most are of interest to me I might get Belphegor and Beelzebub next.  Mammon is an adult woman and actually a mother. She is without a doubt a very curvy girl with big boobs and a butt of similar size. I like her overall design, the voluptuous body, the outfit with all it’s details and the pose where she carries a basket full of demon food. Her face is beautiful and the drill hair as well.

Sonico – Super Sonico The Animation – Figma – Swimsuit version

Do you follow the Sonico anime? I watch it and I like the slow paced slice of life concept, it is close to the setting of Sonicomi, but without cameraman san. I better stay away from any MAL discussion, since it would only annoy me, some complained that there was too much fanservice and some that there is not enough of it. The show is very cute and has a kind setting, I’m glad that they made no idiot out of Sonico, she is in college and actually a dilligent student.

The figma comes with the first volume of the Soniani Blu Ray, it was sold out within minutes, lucky me didn’t wait too long. She looks adorable and I imagine it to be a fun figma to take along in my summer vacation. I love how  curvy she is and how she is holding a swim ring. It appears to be one of the newer figma frames, her hip joints are nicely covered.

Sonico – Nitro Super Sonic – Santa, Swimsuit version

Why have I ordered this again? It’s a Sonico bikini figure with christmas decorations from ALTER.
The figure wears a friendly smile on her face and is sculpted in a sweet gravure idol pose and shows a really pretty cleavage. Don’t expect her to be castoffable, it’s already uncommon to see such a hottie made by ALTER

Mushanokouji Iwai – Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – BEACH QUEEN

I know it will be a really tiny, small scale figure, but she’s SOOO CUUUTE! The first time I wanted to preorder her she was sold out, but this week she was in stock again. I have no idea who she is but her face and the mass of hair hnnng!

Erunoe – Lil’Fairy – Chiisana Otetsudai-san

This cute little devil was supposed to stay in the “Upcoming figures I’m interested in” category, but I had the tab with her open for two days and ordered her as this post was as good as finished. It’s a tiny little doll with cheerful eyes, I’m kind of glad that she was restocked, the first batch was sold out immediately. She has two maid workmates and I’m partially interested to add this one with the white hair and black uniform.

Amazon – Excellent Model – Dragon’s Crown

Amazon is a strong girl with a set of muscles, still she looks still very feminine in my eyes.
What I like the most is her nice hair and the beautiful face, these blue eyes are so expressive.
An 1/7 scale is rather unusual for this manufacturer, but it is a nice change, to make something bigger. I find it great how Megahouse applied the shading on the very detailed sculpted body.

Two things that bother me, is that her top is too low, where are her nipples supposed to be? and her thighs still look a bit extreme.

Super Sonico – Mouse version

Haha I hope Sonico doesn’t like cheese, that for sure took long until preorders finally opened.
With her tongue out Sonico has a light naughty expression, a little more assertiveness suits her.
The mouse eared figure comes with a huge cheese themed base, The girl looks charming and the focus on her butt is quite nice. I think I like this figure enough to justify a purchase

Mei Sagara – Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!

This girl has a lot of cute megane (glasses) appeal, but somehow she forgot most of her clothes.

Leafa  – Fairy Dance – Sword Art Online

manufacturer: Kotobukiya release date: April scale: 1/8

That looks like a great Leafa figure, deep green friendly eyes, pointy ears and a really nice rack.
She’s really pretty and the base fits very well to her, like a small diorama.

I always preferred the other girls in Sword Art Online instead of Asuna, in particular Leafa / Suguha but I found it silly that people started to dislike Asuna as she was trapped in a golden cage. The figure looks lovely in the promo shots, unfortunately this figure was made by the same sculptor as Kobato, like you all know, I didn’t really enjoy, after all. I better play safe this time and try to get her after release in case I like the final product.

Makoto Harada – Yamato Girls Collection – Yamato 2199

Have you ever watched the old Uchuu Senkan Yamato? It’s a combination of the old Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. I did and it was awesome, it sucked that I had to watch the last episode in english, to be fair, the japanese dub also was far from good at first, bu that improved quickly. Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is a more modern version with fantastic animations. Makoto Harada is the top nurse on the ship and assists the doctor with sake.

As big fan of the show I would like to have her. I love the cute design of her, the sweet face, the fashionable pink suit and the dynamic pose, she has exchangle faces and arms.

The Muse of Range Murata – JC.COM

I’d never believe this lovely GK figure would be adapted as PVC figure, but no it even is from ALTER and of a large scale. The girl is based on the art of Range Murata, it’s a cute and attractive design with a scarf, boots and gloves and cute underwear. A chair is also part of this great figure.

Billy the Kid – Eiyuu*Senki GOLD

A wild, slender girl with a cowboy – bikini dress and a watergun, I find her design totally appealing, she’s proud and has a dominant appearance despite from being half naked.

Anything here caught your attention?

I’m a bit lost here, march, april and may will be full of cool figures, any suggestions what I should get? If I didn’t have brought so many figure preorders from 2013 in the new year, I could order more freely without stressing myself.

Today I will have my 25th figure review post and it will center around one of my latest purchased figures, which is called Chris 2009 Santa Version. Chris was manufactured by Beagle, the release date was in December 2009. This figure is sculpted after an illustration from the artworks of Range Murata.

Chris 2009 Santa Version  is scaled 1/7 and her height is about 200 mm. This figure caught my attention before, but her price was too high, as far as I know she normally costs around 100 USD fortunately HobbyLink Japan had her in stock for a great 30% discount some weeks ago.

Together with UJ-14 she is my second figure  from Beagle, they mainly produce figures from Pse Collection, these are figures which have their origin in illustrations of Range Murata.

Overall there were 3 versions of this figure: the original version from 2008, a different color version from 2008 and the version I own. I liked this grey colored clothes a lot so I have no regrets that I wasn’t able to get the red origional version.

Lets take a closer look from the top to the bottom of Chris 2009 Santa Version.

Chris appears like a pretty and cute young girl that likes to deliver packages. On first look it seems like she only could be displayed in the cold season in christmas, but she wears a short cutted outfit, so I think I won’t have to  put her back into the  box because it’s summer.

Hair & Face

The hair has a nice natural looking color tone and looks nicely sculpted as well. Chris has a center part short cut hairstyle, the things which were used 1:1 from the original figure are the red “hairbags” at the sides of her head, I don’t know the word for it, but they look really cute.

The mistletoe leafs and berries at these “hairbags” are sculpted very fine and detailed. In her very cute face are all the elements Range Murata uses when he illustrates younger girls, strong eyesbrows, a round face and big oval eyes and the face of Chris also shows a lot of her forehead because the bangs of her hair are pushed to the outsides. She also has a big and happy open mouth with the upper front teeth line showing up.

Outfit & Body

As you can see she wears a outfit that reminds of the cold season and christmas holidays.

Well a short jacket and a short skirt is not really useful in the cold season, but it shows some more of her skin which let the figure appear a bit more appealing.Her outfit is mainly colored in light grey, but there are darker grey, fur like looking outlines at the edges, all the nicely sculpted crinkles and seam lines give her outfit an quite realistic look.

The pose Chris has is creative and dynamic, it looks like she bravely jumps out of the reeindeer sleigh which hovers in the sky to bring the things inside her sack to the good and less good people in the world, well in my imagination. Because of her pose her pink and white striped panties are clearly visible. I don’t know if it’s just me, but to me it appears not very indecent, in her overall appearance Chris still keeps a very cute, happy and innocent aura.

At her hands she wears cute, white and glossy mittens, with one mitten she holds the rope of the dark grey sack, when looking at it you can see the nicely and clearly sculpted silhouette of the implied boxes inside.

What I really like about her outfit are the high boots, they look awesome with the cool and nice design and a glossy finish, the soles under her boots are showing a fancy design.

The base is a nice, transparent, rectangular cube with some sprayed on snowflakes. Inside this cube is a snow like surface at the bottom with a sad looking snowman on it.

Assembling was very easy; two pegs, two holes *plop* and everything is done .

Some words about the quality of this figure
I can’t really find a thing about this figure I could complain about, the sculpting is done very clean and accurate the same goes for the paintjob, there is no overpainting or parts at this figure where color is missing or shows scratches. Im feeling convinced in saying this, because many figures from Beagle have quite high average ratings on the MFC site.

So at last some final words about my Beagle’s Chris 2009 Santa Version.

I’m very satisfied with the quality and look of this figure, Im really happy that I noticed
the discount campaign at HobbyLink Japan and was able to get her for the cheap price.
The dynamic pose with the legs straight in the air is cute and funny.

Her outfit has some small and nice details, like the crinkles, the colorful parts at her head and the soles of her boots, Chris also has a nice and appealing color mix. The light grey outfit, the pale skin color and the brown hair color are fitting together very well. Additional to that the usage of glossy ,less shiny and matte colortones let the figure appear very livey.

A few weeks later I stumbled over a link which lead to a review of the figure UJ-14 at Happysoda.

I wasn’t to sure about getting a figure for myself but after looking at UJ-14 I knew that I wanted this figure. At that time I also didn’t know where to get these figures, so Google was my friend and luckily I found her for a very fair price at an US online store.

UJ-14 is a 1/8 scaled figure manufactured by Beagle, she is made of PVC and ABS, ber release date was in November 2006. Her origin is from the Range Murata‘s illustration book: FORM CODE.
It’s pretty obvious that the design of UJ-14 isn’t anime like at all, you can easily recognize the Range Murata style of this figure.

Hair & Face

UJ-14 has light purple hair with some detailed strands, she wears a white colored headset, with some copper colored antennas like objects at the sides of her head. The almond eyes as well as the nicely sculpted mouth are underlining her some timid and shy, yet cool face expression.

Outfit & Body

The outfit of UJ-14 looks very interesting it’s a smooth looking white body suit, it’s seam lines and folds emits a feeling of softness. She has a detailed backpack which is connected to her headset with the copper colored antennas,these electronical looking parts are very cool, other nice details are the belts and buckles which are holding her backpack in place.

The pose is also very well done it looks natural and shows a silent yet cool body. gesture,which fits perfectly to her face expression. Her left butt cheek is a little bit lifted up by her left boot which adds a little bit natural sexyness to UJ-14 without looking vulgar by any means. The heavy boots of her are also showing detailed highlights at the outside and the sole.

I also like this harmonic colorsetting of her: the skin tone, the light purple hair as well as the black and white of her clothes, everything fits together very well, additional to this the mix of matte and shiny colors is also very well done, while the colors of her body and clothes mainly consists of matte colors, her electronic devices are painted with shiny colors.

All these cleanly painted and very well sculpted details of UJ-14 are really great considering her age and of course the price of this figure, she was more than a fair deal.

In this review I took some of my new and some of my old pictures for the newer pics I wanted to create a some kind industrial setting. I used the bowels of an old transistor radio as background and an aluminium sheet for the ground . Next time I should clean the dust off more properly by using water, before taking the pictures I shortly wiped over the figure but after sighting the pics at the pc there was still some ugly dust left.

Final Words

I am really satisfied with this UJ-14 figure, she resembles the art of Range Murata very well. The pose of UJ-14 is very interesting, with her cool outfit and her facial expression this figure has a quite unique look, Beagle did a really good job with the very good quality of the sculpting and painting. Im happy to have her in my collection.
