Shiina Chieri is the main heroine from Baka Dakedo Chinchin Shaburu no Dake wa Jouzu na Chii-chan, which means something like “It’s stupid but just sucking cock is good” Yes, now I`m rather shocked myself, don’t get lead astray by the crude title, it`s after all, a vanilla hentai with a sweet story.

Shiina Chieri is gyaru character, in anime culture gyaru characters are most likely portrayed as good girls with a big heart. She is a sweet girl only a bit bad in school. I liked her cute personality and beautiful character design.

The purchase was love at first sight, she is a wonderful figure with a dynamite body and a beautiful smile. The only question was which version I wanted in the end, the Sky Blue version with a flustered face, the regular version with leopard pattern bikini or the glossy Extremely Limited Distribution Edition. On the past Wonfes even a non tanned version was offered. I decided for the Extremely Limited Distribution Edition, but what is so extremely limited about the Shiina Chieri figure?  In short the figure has a glossy top coat, which looks really great and attractive.

Q-six is mainly a manufacturer of ecchi figures, they mainly adapt characters from h manga or hentai anime.
Shiina Chieri was sculpted by Nollgreco and is scaled 1/6 (18cm). The figure has been released in June 2018.The figures box includes 2 faceplates, one with tongue out, which is very good and funny, she also offers exchangeable arms for each sides, there also is a popsicle that Chieri can hold in one of her hand. The bikini is castoff able. There are many different display options. A set pubic hair decals in blonde and black color of different sizes is also included.

In advance of receiving this figure I had no idea how the glossy tan would look in person. The tanned skin tone alone already turned out quite pretty and interesting, between all my mostly pale figures, the orange brown color stands out and is a real eyecatcher. The glossy finish adds a wet look to the figures body and highlights her great curves.

The face is not as shiny as the body, the effect is moderately reduced, it won`t get in the way of admiring Chieri chan. It is very cute with these lively purple eyes. Her gaze points to the left makes her expression flirty and sweet. The eyebrows are thicker than usual, it`s actually quite nice. She also has a simply adorable mouth with accentuated lips.The alternative face comes off as a bit naughtier in appearance with her cute tongue sticking out, the sculpted upper front teeth is very nice in addition to her expression.

The popsicle comes along as neat item and can be use in such context without she seems to be in heat.The outfit consists of a skimpy designed bikini and loose socks, the top is a bit thick and in general not so convincing, We should probably not use it anymore. The lower part is better and align better with her body.

Speaking of her body Shiina Chieri is so hot 

Her wide hips look really sexy as well as her nicely sculpted belly, I like that the sculptor made it soft looking and a bit squishy. Most prominent though are probably her generously sized boobs, common for your hentai heroine next door. In this figures case they are huge, but don`t defy gravity, I see no place for complains. Also her pink nipples look great next to the tanned skin. Her butt is nicely shaped, it just appears a bit dwarfed by the size of her boobs.

The sexy figure is presented in a kneeling pose, which highlights her hips, thighs and belly. The arms allow you to display her in a variety of ways, playing around with the different arms was fun.

Without her panties Chieri looks quite beautiful as well with full focus on her hips and lower abdomen, you also notice her cute cameltoe, the figure has sculpted genitals, but they are presented in a subtle manner.

And no! you can`t insert anything there, which seems to be en vouge with ero figures these days. But such a figure won`t come into my house

Final Words

Shiina Chieri from Q-six is a very nice figure adaption of the hentai heroine, she has a very cute face, the other face is nicely lewd, but still cute. The figure has a gorgeous body with a splendid bosom and extremely detailed belly.
Her tanned skin looks fantastic and the glossy finish of the Extremely Limited Distribution Edition is very nice to look at. She is so beautiful that she looks best when displayed without clothes or half nude, also since the bikini top is not that great. the different display options of her face and arms are a very cool extra to have. I will try out these pubic hair decals another time. This is my first purchase of a Q-six figure and I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of it.

I will pay more attention to their future releases, in case they are only mildly lewd I’d get another one.

I’ve liked this Granblue Fantasy character already from several fan made illustrations, both normal and more fanservice related ones. I also liked this very figure on first sight, for a few reasons I’ve bought her shortly after the release in October 2016, but fortunately I did.

The figure was sculpted by Matsumoto Kouei, she is scaled 1/8 and is 18,5 cm in height.

Danua the cute and short demon girl surprised me with a quite sad background story, according to that, she is presented in a darker mood unusual for bishoujo figures, though Danua looks very cute in a melancholic way, which is also charming. She has a diorama base and 2 interesting monster dolls with sharp knives that accentuate the morbid atmosphere.

The figures outfit consists of something between a spaghetti strap summer dress and a nightgown with a elaborate corsage around her waist. She also wears fingerless gloves and has a half heartedly bandaged arm. The white dress shows nice wrinkles and shading, also the corsage also looks really good with the dark purple and metallic painted areas.

Danua has elaborately crafted dark hair, the strands are sharp and clean, I also like this reflection line at her deep hanging fringe. At the sides long horns with fancy decorations are coming out of her skull. The demon girl also has cute droopy elf like ears. The figure has a beautiful face, the face tilted downwards creates a unique presentation of a bishoujo figure.

A very appealing aspect of Danua is the variety of expressions she can show, just from changing the perspective, she can look cute, grumpy and also straight scornful.

Danua is a little sister type and speaks with a very cute voice, she appears a bit defenseless, but she is assisted and supported by her living dolls, Hansel and Gretel. They are intelligent and despite their tattered and scary appearance they are very kind and care a lot about Danua. The dolls are also part of this figure, they look really scary without knowing the game. Hansel is walking on the base and Gretel is hold up by Danua in a shy manner.

Danua is a short, petite girl, well partially she is not exactly petite, she has a very attractive body and well endowed boobs, that barely fit into her dress and create a luxuriant cleavage.

The base looks good, but could be a bit more detailed or of higher resolution. The figure can nevertheless also stand without her base, only supported by the train of her long dress.

Final Words

Danua is a great figure, Kotobukiya did a wonderful job with manufacturing her figure.

The figure follows the official game design by Hideo Minaba very closely. She is at the smaller end of the 1/8 scale, but nevertheless a great looking figure with lovely details. Danua is very appealing as figure and her expressive face is just too cute. The sculpting is is very detailed and overalll the figure is nicely colored.

She is still available at some shops, no need to hesitate ^^

The plan of buying less figures than last year works so far, although it makes the hobby more exhausting, when I decide about the pro and cons of certain figures, compare them and decide against preordering instantly, instead of ordering everything pleasant for the eye.

Fate/EXTRA – Saber EXTRA

I was very much looking forward to the day preorders were opened, I saw this Saber at last years Wonderfestival as she was still an early prototype. A more curvy Saber in swimsuit is the right thing for me, I got super excited as I’ve learned that she’s scaled 1/6. I like most alternative Saber figures, I already have the Saber Maid R, which I still think is awesome. This Saber has a confident face expression and body language and appears a little teasing and dangerous, not to forget that she looks damn hot ;D

Nakahara Tomoe

With a official price of 14.815 ¥, This is probably is my most expensive preorder, since Native doesn’t ship to germany and I wasn’t that determined to pay a proxy, shiping costs and customs fees, I placed my order at a german shop, Figuya.com. It’s based on a Toni Taka artwork, what I like is that sculptor applied a few changes on her face to make her look more distinctive. The figure has a rich design and looks just beautiful. As Native figure she is supposed to be a little sexy, she’s not as lewd as other Native products she shows her allure with her low cleavage and revealed legs, she has optional panties and a partial castoff feature.

The figure is sitting on a tableclothed table and also comes with a big traditional umbrella.

Shigure – Kancolle

In their evolved form Shigure and Yudachi are the coolest looking Destroyer Class girls. As I saw Shigure shown at the last Wonfes I literally freaked out since she is one of my favorite ship girls, if they had shown Samdare I would have probably suffered a heart attack XD

The design is based on a collector card, that is why she looks a little different than in the Kancolle browsergame, but it is no drestic difference, she’s still looking awesome. I like that she has these big guns, GSC also made them exchangeable with smaller guns, I’ve read that it is also possible to remove the gunholder at her back. The torpedo pods are rotateable.

Kafuu Chino – Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?

Awww this was a warm and sweet slice of lifew anime, have you seen it? Chino is a girl who works at a coffee shop, even with her young age she is very composed and demure, still she is really cute when interacting with her friends. I was really happy about this figure announcement from Ques Q, Chino looks really adorable, I love her pretty uniform and the cute facial expression. She’s listed as 1/7 scaled figure what I really appreciate.

It’s funny that this figure is so not fitting with my other preorders this year, you can guess why. Since she comes out in the same month, I combined her order with the buxom Succubus lady, which I start to feel embarassed about, I can’t imagine myself to display the 1/6 Demon girl though I’m also looking forward to it and her beautiful face… whatever.

I’m a big fan of Captain Earth, it’s the kind of show I enjoy with action, friendship, romance and cool villains. At least one figure of it was announced, Moco one of the villains, not my favorite character from the show, but it’s fair enough. Yeah she’s a sensual character and her clothes are raher extreme. As special version she has some extra parts. I did not hear much praise about Embrace Japan but I can’t be picky also the prototype looks more than just good.

Push!! Cover Girl

I feel like I’ve waited an eternity for this figure to reach preorder status, I was follwing the “progress” since it was a grey unpainted prototype. I was delighted to see her ready last Wonfes, but you know happened I don’t want her that badly anymore, that feels so bad.

I recently read a nice quote about her on mfc “seems like a long time since figures with this kind of art style has been made.” Well, it probably wasn’t the intention of the writer, but you can say that she as figure is kinda outdated after these three years. She’s nevertheless cute, don’t you think? I can’t help myself I hate these shoes and socks, that is no convincing beach figure…

Girls und Panzer – Yukari Akiyama

This figure is a great portray of the friendly tank otaku Yukari, Girls und Panzer was one of my top favorite animes recently and I approve of this, be it the dress, the way she is posed or her friendly and bright smile, she’s very cute and surprisingly affordable. Would be cool if all characters of team Anglerfisch would get a figure, I’m no fan of sets, but would consider to make an exception here.

Katsuragi Nama – Senran Kagura

This Katsuragi figure has a certain feature, you can put things between her soft boobs…
I kind of like how this figure is made, her body looks great and the carttonish Senran Kagura style has been adapted faithfully. Ok the often so confident Katsuragi doesn’t look that happy, but that also has a certain appeal to some folks. She’s somehow very cute.

Bertille Althusser – Walkure Romanze More & More

I like the design of this figure quite a lot, much more than their previous bikini armor figures to be honest, since bikini and armor have a more appealing desgn. Daiki is always good with strong and buxom warrior lady’s like Bertille is and recreated her alluring body’s in a very detailed way, even better since she’s scaled 1/6. Bertille has lovey corkscrew braids, too. While we are speaking about it, does Daiki still use these cheap black bases?

Sinon – Sword Art Online II

A figure that portrays Sinon as an even more badass sniper that she actually already is. I like that the face goes into a more realistic direction. Also she appears very detailed and nicely made, the 1/7 makes it more interesting, the retail list price unfortunately is a bit high, even when most shops have a discount.

Chitoge Kirisaki – Nisekoi

I plan to watch this show in the next few weeks, Chitoge has a very distinctive appearance as character, I’m already enchanted. Alter made anbespecially great looking figure in a lovely casual outfit captured in a super dynamic, cheerful pose. I love the details of her face so much. Damn July release, hopefully I can get her later… delay, delay, Delay!

That is probably my favorite bunny suit figure, since she looks beautiful in it. She will have a happy face and an emarassed one. The figure is still work in progress, but I assume her to be ready for preorders within the next two months.

Hello don’t worry I’m not completely lost in the fashion doll realm. So today I will take a look at the Kongou Battleship from Max Factory, it’s a figure based on the very popular online Game Kancolle, it is also my first figure from this franchise.

This was the first thing from Kongou and Kancolle I’ve seen, weeks later I have joined the Admirals who play this Game. It was a little difficult to get in, but it’s definetely a lot of fun.

My first Burning Love interests were Samidare, Mutsuki and Hatsuharu, no one announced a figure of these, but Mutsuki became a main character in the currently airing anime adaption.

Kongou is one of the very popular ships, admired by many male admirals for her extremely energetic, cheerful, weird and caring personality. Since the anime I’m also a fan of her, she reminds me of a friendlier version of Suzumiya Haruhi.

I changed the adress for my RSS feed recently, so if anyone was following me through this, I would advice you to update these feeds. This for posts, this for comments.

Kongou was released in January 2015, I’m somewhat late with the review, but here we go…

YOSHII was in charge of crafting this figure after her official damaged state illustration, all Kancolle figures from Max Factory are based on the damaged state fleet girl illustrations.

The combination of pretty animes girls and weapons isn’t new, yet kancolle puts it to another level, by adding heavy WWII equipment for naval warfare on different looking bishoujo characters. Kancolle is incredibly succesful, also in terms of elaborate fanart, most is partially erotic, but there are other amazing illustrations, too.

Kongou has a huge battleship in tow which is supposed be attached to her hips, here you can pose the figure like you want, since the “ship” is part of the base. The weapons look elaborate to a certain degree, but have no further function or moveable parts. The base is solid and fiting for a game based figure, but somehow it leaves a lackluster feeling.

It’s rare for Max Factory to make 1/8 scaled figures of such popular characters, but they did… I’d rather have her as big as indicated on her windowless box honestly.

Kongou as she sits here is a fantastic and beautiful figure, but I notice that she is not as elaborately done as other figures from Max Factory at 1/7 or 1/6. The tattered clothes could partially look more natural, the golden chain looks rather cheap. Although this so so impression only applies to parts of her outfit, boots and the pleated skirt look especially nice.

Her hair shows a natural brown with darker shading, the alice band like headgear with cute, golden radar system rests on her head. The face with the closed eye shows signs of pain, shock and sadness, the uncomfortable expression is nevertheless beautiful and adorable.

Not every in game illustration is appealing in Kancolle, compared to the damaged state illustration of Kongou, the face appears rounder and wider, in my eyes a big improvement.

Partially the figure has a nicely sculpted body, thighs, arms and face in particular, yet the sculpting of other areas dissapoints. Her back and belly is very low on details, where are the shoulderblades? Also the boobs don’t convince in this half exposed way, it somehow has not the desired sex appeal. So that aside Kongou’s main selling points for me is the beautiful and nicely detailed face. The mouth has a great depth with a cute tongue and sculpted lower lip.

Final Words

Lets sum this up in a few words, Kongou is an appealing figure also at 1/8 scale and the adaption of the official illustration with some improvements conidering her face.
Although she has not the quality as other larger scale Max Factory figures, the smaller scale lead to unnecessary quality and sculpting cutbacks, most prominent at her backside.

I expected something more elaborate for the 11.700 Yen that I’ve paid for an 1/8 scale figure.

Still Kongou’s strong point is the face and pose that portray her vulnerable side and asks for comfort, Teitoku!!! In case you rather see Kongou as the cool and sweet ship she is, take a look at Phat Company’s Kongou. Another Kancolle figure I’ve ordered is I-168 from Max Factory.

Sorry for the rather negative sounding impression, I like the figure more than you would imagine, I also took many pictures with her. What is your impression of this figure after this review?

Yes, new preorders part 25 and something is probably the right title for this post, there has been not much new to preorder at the end of the year. I expected a few more Kancolle figures from other manufacturers to show up for preorders in December, but they are probably waiting to announce these for the next Wonder Festival which is sheduled for February 2015.

Aside from a few updated or announced figures from MegaHobby Expo Autumn and some more fanservice related figures there hasn’t been happening much in the last few months.

I did order only a few figures one of them on last minute literally, I really plan to preorder less figures in 2015, mainly focusing on the things I really want and making no impulse purchases.

In the last Preorder Post 24 this figure was one of maybe candidates, I decided to get her, unfortunately all shops closed reservations months ago. I got the fix idea to grab one on the day of release and to my surprise it worked, HLJ had a few left. Shortly before release ALTER announced a black color Variant, but I’m on team white. I’m looking forward to have her soon.

Sailor Sapphire Succubus

Another maybe candidate was this hot Succubus based on an artwork of Mogudan. I’m not lying when I say that the biggest appeal point for me is the figures beautiful and lively face. Ok, she also has an attractive, voluptuos body and with being scaled 1/6 she will be a rather big figure. With the short shirt it looks a bit silly, but without it though, she looks really, really sexy. I might try to put a bikini top on her. I can’t wait to get her in summer 2015.

Super Sonico Paisura Bikini ver

You can probably tell by now that I’m into that stuff XD Here is another Super Sonico figure,
it might actually be the last one this time, until something really unique is shown.

I followed the development of her since the very early prototype stage and was quite happy to see her having turned out as promising preorder. What convinced me in the end was this set of promotional pictures, where Sonico blushes a lot, which is no wonder with a bikini that won’t fit at all and reveals her attractive, buxom body. Her pose has something to do with putting on sun lotion, I like how she squeezes her arm between her plump, fairly sized boobs.

The sculptor has a promising history of good looking figures with nicely sculpted bodies, I’m positive that this big scale Sonico figure from Kaitendoh will be really nice as well.

Toro Toro Otome – Miki Reina – Suntan version

I was really torn between this figure and the previously shown Sonico. I ordered Sonico, but Miki is still a beauty. There is already a non tanned version of this figure, but the darker skin adds a lot to her and makes her look more convincing. Miki has a playful appearance, very nice colors, different display options and her top is castoff able. It was a difficult decision, but I actually hate her shoes to be honest, but I’ll keep her in mind for a possible later purchase ^^

Musashi Kai – Light Armament Version

You can buy this figure in 4 different versions, 2 differ in color, 2 differ in terms of attached weapons. With full armament she looks quite impressive, but the normal version is also very pretty, cheaper and less likely to get damaged when being moved around, that pole is better made of aluminum or steel *lol* Musashi looks good with some muscles and rather big boobs , she also wears an interesting concept of an outfit completed with a ribbon wrapped around her body. If her face would show some more emotion I would have pre-ordered her for sure.

BLAZBLUE ALTER MEMORY – Mu-12

This figure looks really cool with led powered base and prominent buttocks, the sculptor did a good job on the skin parts and the rest obviously. On the downside her face is hard to see, from different angles it’s still hard to see, which will be a reason for me not to pre-order her.

Eiyuu*Senki GOLD – Beethoven

That is the most innocent character design from the Eiyuu*Senki game and I really like that, Beethoven is a cute, short girl with an unique hairstyle and headphones. The slanted eyes give a nice thoughtful touch and she has a podium like base.

The Samurai Bride designs are really pretty and showcase the advanced craftsmanship and possibilities of todays figure production. With Inshun we see one character of the new cast. She has beautiful eyes and looks really good.

Himejijou

As the castle figure was still an unpainted prototype I liked her a lot more. I imagined her colors to turn out more striking. While she doesn’t look bad at all,I feel a little vary about her. She would actually be my type of figure and her diorama like base is lovely. I might like Hiimejijou a lot better in person, but with my mixed impressions I can’t make a pre-order.

Karada ni Kiite – Eriko

Who put the nearly nude figure here, me? I guess I liked her feminine curves a lot and the interesting design of her face. Haha like on Miki Reina from further above I hate the shoes again, what is Daiki doing with all the ugly shoes! Hmmm, it seems that the figures are just randomly divided beteen Daiki Kougyou and Dragon Toy (both companies are related).I had the impression that Dragon Toy would be in charge of the raunchy stuff, apparently not ;D

Leviathan – Maou Mokushiroku

Ater seeing this figures cute face in color, I’m really curious about what kind of character Leviathan actually is. She looks cute and sexy in her beach clothes, gladly Orchid Seed will work on her with Tanaka Masanori they got a really talented sculptor for her. In a magazine scan, she was shown with a silly pose, but it must be a different figure, don’t you think?

Black Heart

As I learned that Black Heart is going to be made as a 1/7 scaled figure, I was stunned, this figure will look great in a bigger scale and with such a dynamic pose. I’m very positive about ordering her next year, she looks so damn good.

Love Live! School Idol Festival – Minami Kotori

ALTER keeps up the trend of making more figures in scale 1/7. Here the Love Live core member Kotori. I don’t know what they did to make this Kotori prototype look so precious, she’s nearly sparkling with craftsmanship, cuteness and visual appeal. They also made Maki.

Push!! Cover Girl

On their blog Orchid Seed mentioned that the prototype for this figure has been completed and that updates should follow soon. I’m really happy that this figures gets more attention now. I wished for her since I saw her at Summer Wonder Festival 2012. compared to the shown First version of her prototype the body looks more detailed now, at body and legs.

Sansei Muramasa – Bunny version

Sansei received quite some attention from Wing in particular, they already made a figure of her in the regular outfit which looks rather good with the serious face. Recently they were showing this through their social channels. I already like the concept art, keep it up Wing.

Coincidentially, the figure of todays review is also in posession of an traditional japanese umbrealla. It’s a figure of Senran Kagura‘s timid, rebelish, prodigy ninja student Yagyuu.

This figure was manufactured by Vertex, a relatively new company in the figure business.
Two sculptors, Hogary and M.I.C.  worked together to create this figure, which was released by the end of January 2014. Yagyuu is scaled 1/8 and a litttle taller than 20 cm without umbrella.

Senran Kagura is well known for it’s skin revaling games, but there already was an animes and 2 or more manga’s, readinng  Shoujotachi no Shinei was really nice unfortunately it’s translation appears to be on hold, like it happens with many mangas I do enjoy once in a while.

Yagyuu is a 15 years old and often shows a timid somewhat distant delinquent attitude, but she is a trustworthy companion and would never harm her friends. She is quite attached to Hibari on a personal level, cause sh reminds her of her passed away litttle sister, but she also likes her on a physical level, both are close friends and you will see them together most of the day. Yagyuu acts very protective towards Hibari, who isn’t the best ninja candidate around .

This is my first figure from Vertex so I didn’t know what to expect, the prototype looked really good and so placed my preorder. To honest my first impression after unpacking her was not that great. There were no damages or screaming flaws, my expectations were just too high.

After I took first pictures I’ve literally seen her in a better light and began to appreciate her more, still not the level of an Maeda Keiji, but that would have been a more than optimistic demand.

Hair & Face 

The long, bushy ultra twintails of Yagyuu are actually nice, the sculpting is not that crisp, but nevertheless it shows a certain kind of clean detailism and obviously it’s fluffy wildly flowing look is really cute. Seperated by shuriken’s the twintailes have quite a number of strands, that are accentuated by shading of a lighter tone above the  basic purple color.

Yagyuu greets the viewer with a somehow  gloomy expression on her pretty face, the overall style is different from the Senran Kagura figures sculpted by Ringo Renmei, like Hibari or Katsuragi, a bit less cartoonish. With one eyepatched eye Yagyuu has a strong expression.
The skincolor is pale and is quite different compared to the prototype.

I got really picky about the opacity level of the figures skin and I can’t shake it off anymore.

Body & Outfit 

Yagyuu ‘s body looks great, her curvy body and the detailed belly in particular, overall the body sculpting is really well done and makes an appealing figure of her. Oh these muscular thighs are not bad either and I shouldn’t forget to mention her really pretty backside.

Yagyuu has not much of an outfit, most of her clothes torn to shreds, the skirt with the good looking pattern shows most damage, her scarf and even her socks suffered a bit. The scarf is very long and consists of three parts, the two single bands slide in slots positioned in the main piece. The main outfit is ashiny black bikini, the tight fit is really attractive. On the prototype the straps of the bikini were  shown with distance to her body, in the end it was included in the body mold, which is no the best way to do it nowadays. The straps above her boobs are only painted on the top, on close look it’s rather irritating. The only major flaw are these bikiini straps.

You can play around with the different castoff stages, it’s up to you if you would like to display her with scarf and skirt, just the skirt or without these parts, in all her black bikini glory.

The umbrella is Yagyuu’s main weapon and one of her figures major appeal points. This umbrella turned out really good, it is very detailed with accurate lines and realistic weathered shading effects. The supporting bar framework inside is quite elaborate. The grip slides in both hands and guarantees a solid fit.

The base is red for whatever reason, it’s not what I would call displeasing for the eye, but it is a bit uncommon, also the writing on it is a litttle strange, it looks more like a dripping brush than japanese letters.

Final Words

Is Yagyuu a good figure? Yes, in all honesty she is. This figure from Vertex has an eye catching design with her voluminous twintails, the torn clothes and of course the nicely sculpted and articulated body, On the bottomline  it’s a very attractive figure with a few  minor flaws, like the bikini straps. On a more positive note, things like overpainting or seam lines from the molding process, are a rarity on Yagyuu from Vertex. The difference between the prototype’s skintone and the final product is obvious, but actually something to get over easily, not as hideous as on a certain Kobato figure. I was a bit sceptical as I unpacked this figure, but Yagyuu turned out to be a nice figure, fully assembled with her pretty umbrella she looks pretty good.

This figure of Hibari was manufactured by Phat Company and released by the end of November 2013. This version is scaled 1/8 and has a height of 180 mm.

This certain figure is based on a Garage Kit from Ringo Renmei, I nearly bought that GK, even though I could never finish it on my own, I  still think owning is better than not owning ;D. There have been many GK’s that I wanted as painted PVC figure, but that rarely happens. Fortunately Phat Company quickly got the rights from the sculptor and announced the PVC figure of Hibari.

Hibari herself comes from the game Senran Kagura, a few days ago I knew nothing about it, but Miette told me that there is also a manga about it. I’ve read all available chapters within a few hours ^^

Hibari  is a 1st year student of the National Hanzo Academy, she takes part in the Ninja classes together with her friends Asuka, Katsuragi, Yagyuu and Ikagura. Hibari is a very cheerful, feminine and cute acting person. As part of the “good* ninjas, Hanzo fights in order to prevent crimes in the area, their arch enemy are the “bad” ninjas from Snake Girls School. The Hanzo girls aren’t especially good in combat and while Hibari has the right spirit she is the weakest fighter.

Senran Kagura is a mix of action, comedy and seinen. It also has a few parody elements and makes fun of martial arts related animes, still it takes his own story serious. I liked to read this manga with it’s appealing character designs. An anime adaption is scheduled  for January 2013

Up to the Review part…

I can say in advance that Phat Campany surprised me in a positive way with their Hibari figure.

Hair & Face

The hair of this figure is very well done, the strands are clean and detailed. She has a cute little pigtails or mini twintails hairstyle decorated with three small blue ribbons. Hibari has a pink haircolor with a gradient from a lighter tone of pink on top to stronger pink at the ends.

A lot of attention has been paid to Hibari’s face, it resembles her look from the manga very well. They eyes are applied in a very clean manner, she actually has normal eyes, but since she’s made in her victory pose, she has these flower like crosses in front of her blue iris. On her cheeks are some adorable blush marks, under her cute stubs nose the figure has a wipe open smile.

The last reviewed figure had a kinda weird open mouth, but the figure in this review has been sculpted with a nicely done open mouth, that portrays the cheerful nature of Hibari’s character.

Body & Outfit

The figure is standing in a rather simple manners, which doesn’t have to be something bad.
As extra feature Hibari comes with a third exchangeable arm, to create the double victory sign pose. The position of the gap is hidden very well, since the arm attaches where the sleeve starts.

Obviously Hibari is a young teenager, but since Senran Kagura always pays attention to the attractive female curves of their characters. Cute Hibari is a short and buxom girl, she has big bouncy boobs  and a sexy waist, the bloomers accentuate her well defined legs very well, while not very long I think that her legs and meaty thighs are attractive, the back of her knee is also sculpted in an appealing way. The subtle applied shading  gives her legs a lifelike appearance.

The outfit might be kinda unique, but it’s Hibar’s battle dress, she is wearing a pastel pink, sporty jersey. The sculpting of it is very good, with nicely applied folds and wrinkles. The silver zipper is painted carefully and clean. Underneath Hibari is wearing tight, blue bloomers, well what should I say leg revealing bloomers are always sexy. I also think that her puffy crotch is kinda cute.
Hibari has a cute little butt, but personally I think that her buttocks could have been a bit bigger.

Another nice detail are the striped loose socks, matching the colors of her jersey and bloomers.
I also really like the bulky design of her sneakers with the bold, leather resembling parts of them.

Additional Notes

Aside from a few seamlines the sculpting of this figure is done very well.

Hibari can stand without base, but you have to balance her carefully, it’s no option to display her like this for long. She is safer on her clear base.

I was also impressed by the sturdiness of this figure during the no base shootings she fell over several times without taking any damage, one time the whole background fell on her, but again no damage occured. My assistant was so clumsy that day. Well Im no one to talk since I smashed the bulp of my little support lamp after tidying up the shooting ground XD

Final Words

You probably can tell by now I’m totally enchanted by this Hibari figure. I find it remarkable that a young figure manufacturer like Phat Company, that I actually didn’t trust much him the first place, delivered such a lovely product with this Hibari figure. Sculpting and painting of figure and the outfit parts are very good. Also in terms of resembling the character the figure is based on, I’m very pleased with her, I love my Hibari, she is cute, cheerful and sexy.

Hi and welcome to my review of Sayaka Miki from Good Smile Company

Haha after all the the ecchi figure reviews recently it’s kind of a combo breaker.

This figure of Sayaka is scaled 1/8 and has a height of 20 cm, her release date was in July 11th.
Her origin is the very popular anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica which is considered to be a revolutunary anime inside the magical girl genre. I was happy with the magical animes before, but oh well who asks me anyway. Sayaka Miki is the best friend of Madoka, the main heroine of the show. Sayaka is a very kind and cheerful person, she has a tomboyish personality and likes fooling around. In dangerous situations she protects her small fragile looking friend Madoka.

After the anime ended people wished for cool and dynamic figures of the characters in their fancy costumes, there didn’t pass much time until GSC presented their figure lineup of this anime.

Well, how should I say it all of them appeared rather underwhelming in terms of posing, they could have been adapted from a more interesting illustration than the one which was used.

Nevertheless these figures still had their lovely outfits and a very good quality. Additional to that the Puella Magi Madoka Magica girls also resembled the look of the anime very close.

From the figure line up Sayaka caught my interest the most, I really liked the design and colors. She wasn’t my favorite character, in case you’ve watched the anime you might know why. Her naive thinking of being a magical girl was a bit odd, lets say she wasn’t suited for that job.

I found a nice part of an  Staff discussion where the persons in charge of crucial elements of the anime were talking about the character of Sayaka.

SHINBO: When the filming was done, I started to feel “she is such a poor girl,” and moreover when I listened to the performance during the after-recording session my heart gradually started to ache more and more, and I started to think “couldn’t there be a little bit salvation for her?”. At first I took a rational point of view, thinking so she is (written as) such a character, but gradually my emotion gushed out and took over.

UROBUCHI: And then I answered, “That would be impossible now.” (LOL)

UROBUCHI: Guess I bullied Sayaka a bit too much (LOL). But then the reason why I do not feel that sorry for Sayaka is this thing, that I just do not feel that even if she hooked up with Kyosuke that girl would really be happy ever after. Most likely Kyosuke is a guy who will stand her up in dates and go to practice the violin, I think.

Hair & Face

Ok, sorry for the slightly off topic talk now I’ll start with review part of this Sayaka Miki figure.

The first thing that meets the eye is her hair, look there is no seamline to be found. Her hair is nice and smoothly sculpted with the strands in the right position the hair resembles the look from the anime very well. Nevertheless there was a shirtstorm about the changes which were made to the final figure in terms of haircolor. People were cursing “seagrass“, “too dark“, “GSC betrayed“.

I rewatched some episodes of this show and now I would say that this figure has the right haircolor, a mixture of blue and grey, if at all the prototype had the wrong too bright hair color.

Im really satisfied with the way the face turned the eyes with the partially dotted iris and pupil.  The unique 2D character designs of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica appear to be a bit more difficult to put into 3D shape, but  it wturned out very nice in this case, there is not really an odd angle were Sayaka looks disappointing. Furthermore this figure features all the facial details from the anime character design, like the blush marks and the dark lined mouth.

Well it might be a bit odd, that the face still looks kind and happy, even when she is wielding the two optional cutlass swords. An optional head would have been a great feature to match the look of a girl in a fancy suit with sharp weapons weapons in her hands.

Outfit & Body

From the girls in Puella Magi Madoka Magica I liked the outfit of Sayaka the most I guess it was also the main reason I ordered this figure. The design is a little on the tomboyish side but also has a prominent female appearance. Her outfit looks more suited for close combat than the one of Mami or Madoka for example. Her top is a shoulder free corsage resembling dress, the quillings above and below are kind of cute, the top exposes her belly with the blue C symbol.

The white cape gives Sayaka  the extra  chivalrous touch, I like the flow of it a lot. At her nice skirt there are these impressively detailed creases. Im a big fan of her stockings with the blue belts around her thighs. I really like the color combination of navy blue, white and golden details.
The colors and the golden lines and buckles are applied in a quite accurate way.

Quality wise there is not much to complain about in terms of outfit and painting.

Her weapon looks like a combination of a cutlass, a weapon often used by Naval forces, and a katana. The long straight blade indeed resembles a katana. On the hilt has the typical cutlass look, in case you are wondering about the look of the hilt, no there is no trigger function it’s just a design element. The base is a small transparent diesk with a blue radial gradient effect.

Sayaka is actually captured in a happy situation with her arms and hands stretched out it looks like she imitates a plane, while having a kind smile on her face. GSC decided to give this figure a second hand option, where Sayaka can hold her two cutlass weapons. In this stage the face expression is a bit too friendly I would say but overall she looks nice in both display options.

Typically for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime Sayaka has a big wide head, she is 13-14 years old so her body is young and petite. She was crafted with care, there are nice armpits, also the transition from arms to body looks quite nice, her shoulder free outfit slightly reveals one of her collarbones and her budding chest. Sayaka also has nice legs, they are accentuated by her stockings and the crossed pose. In my opinion she has the best pose of the bunch.

Final Words

I’m glad about this purchase and that I didn’t cancel her order, like I intended close before the release. I like her overall design a lot, a pretty head, a nice body and very nice colors. Even though I’m still not a big fan of her character, she is a beautiful figure and that is what counts. She has very nice details and the quality of sculpting  and paintjob are very well done.

I purchased this Sayaka Miki figure for 5,750 Yen at AmiAmi, now she is sold out unfortunately.

Her sculptor was Numakura Toshiaki also was in charge of other great and appealing figures like Aozaki Touko, Ritsu with the drums and the Akiyama Mio School Festival version.

This cute loli is named Al Azif, she is one of the main characters of the anime and H-game Demonbane.The anime was loosely based on the Chtulu legend from author H.P. Lovecraft.  Aside from some interesting parts the show had some flaws here and there, but the romantic relationship between Al Azif and Kurou, the two main characters saved it for me.

AL Azif is the original copy of the Necronomicon, normally she’s has a direct, bold and upbeat personality, but also shows hints of surliness from time to time. She teams up with Kurou, a private detective from London. Al Azif sometimes refers to herself as Kurou’s “property” to tease him in front of others. Although her true age is of over a millennium, she usually takes the form of a 10 year old girl with lavender hair and a Gothic Lolita dress or like here in a stylish bikini. Alter’s Al Azif is sculpted after her interesting swimsuit from the Demonbane anime episode 05.

In two aspects the figure distinguishes from the anime character, the sculptor gave Al a really happy smile unlike in the show, where she rarely smiled like that and in the show her sandales were red. Aside from that the figure resembles Al Azif very well and has a very good quality.

Face

As well as the nicely sculpted hairstyle Al Azif’s face is also very well done. The turquoise – green colored eyes look very pretty and give her a very lively expression. The wide open mouth shows Al Azifs in an almost too happy mood. From the side her face looks especially cute I think

Body & Pose

Overall her body is sculpted very nicely and resembles Al Azif’s character from the anime very well. Her arms and legs are very well shaped in a nearly anatomical correct way, the limbs have an realistic looking pose,too. The sculptor put a lot of effort in giving Al Azif a dinamic non static pose. In combination with her face Al Azif  looks nice and cheerful, it really emits a happy beach atmosphere of a warm summer day at the ocean. Al Azif also has a cast-off option for her black skirt, she can be seperated at her waist area over her pantys. Oh I shouldn’t forget to mention that the figure also has detailed sculpted fingernails and footnails.

Paintjob

The paintjob is also done very well, it shows nice shading effects on her skin, also the darker purple hair shows nice shading effects. The swimsuit itself has a simple dark grey and white colormix, the fine imprints and lines on it are some nice details. I couldn’t discover any flaws on her paintjob as already said its very well done.

Accessoires

Her accessoires are one removable shoe and the removeable black skirt and a yellow semi transparent rubber swim ring, which looks very cool, so far I haven’t tested if it is able to float (edit: unfortunately it can’t float). She also comes with a very nice base (Oh I took no picture of it, sorry X( ) Well it is a round base and has a realistic sand on a beach texture on it

Her some additional shots which I took last summer 2010, it was nice that the sun came out at the day of the shooting.

Final words

Im really happy that I was able to get this small yet well detailed figure of Al Azif. Considering that she was made in 2007, she looks very well done, her dynamic pose is nice, her face is nice  and in my opinion she is one of the better swimsuit figures ever made. The accessories included, like the rubber swim ring and the base are also very nice. Im really satisfied with this figure and I’m glad that I was able to get her, even though it was from second hand without her box.

Emi Kizaki is an older figure of mine so I’ll only write a few lines, I mainly want to show some pictures of her. Emi Kizaki is a 1/8 scaled figurine made by Kotobukiya, her release date occured in march 2009.  She comes in a very small box with a tropical theme printed on it.

Emi Kizaki is from the Manga and Anime Kurogane no Linebarrels, a mecha show with lots of ecchi and comedy. She looks a bit younger than the character of her origin, but you can identify her clearly as Emi Kizaki. This figure has an oval sand colored base, which has a soft texture.
Emi Kizaki has a very nicely sculpted pose the way she holds her arm to cover her loose bikini top strap and with her face expression, she creates an athmosphere of shy cuteness.

Her hair shows some detailed streaks which matches her look from the anime. The body itself is very well sculpted with nice long legs. She has a pale and bright skintone. Emi’s upper body looks nice too, even though she is not as well  endowed as in the anime =D

The gray bikini has some nice details, like the hanging straps for example. She uses her left arm to support her pose and with the right arm she holds her loosen bikin top. In her cleavage sits a small stuffed rat, I don’t know why Kotobukiya included the rat since it wasn’t in the anime show, maybe it was in the manga I don’t really know.

On her right side the face appears a bit square cut when you look from some angles.Where she looks the best are from the front and the left.

The figure is a very nice item for photgraphy, she looks good in outdoor and indoor shootings.
She is pretty resistant against direct sunlight, in my room I put her in very well lit areas and so far I couldn’t find any place where her color changed or her arms and legs deformend because of the heat even though You shouldn’t display your figures in direct sunlight!

Emi Kizaki is a very nice bikini figure with a pretty and petite body, the grey bikini
looks nice and the rat between her boobs makes the overall look some kind of unique.
