This figure was manufactured by Emontoys and released in early November 2018. She is scaled 1/7 and measures 23 cm in height. The sculptor Takahama Kan is relatively new in the business and Emontoys hasn’t made that many figures so far, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was really convinced by the promo pictures from the shops.

I don’t consider myself as a fan of Sword Art Online, I have watched every season, but with very mixed impressions. Nevertheless I have enjoyed the movie and it’s lasted adaption SAO: Alicization has been very good so far as well.

This is already my second figure of Asuna after the Titania version and later this year I will receive a third one ^^.

Asuna is a friendly and caring person, she survived the Sword Art Online incident and doesn’t show any mayor aftereffects from all the mess she went through because of it. in Sword Art Online she is the doting all time girlfriend of Kirito and has a high tolerance towards all the female competition from other girls that Kirito is befriended with.

After the SAO disaster Asuna still plays MMORPG’s, she and her friends play Alfheim Online. Asuna and Kirito have a virtual daughter named Yui and a comfortable house in the virtual world, that is often used as conspirative meeting place for them and their group of friends. The outfit and appearance of this figure is based on Asuna in Alfheim Online.

Asuna’s time to shine was in Sword Art Online II during the Mother Rosario episodes. There she met the player Yuuki and her Party. In no time Asuna became close friends with Yuuki. It was a nicely written arc, heartwarming but also very tragic ending, even though I have rewatched it for a second time I ended up bawling and teary eyes.

Asuna was captured while wearing a serious expression, in general she is a cheerful person, but when you get on her bad side you’ll get stabbed. Overall her face looks great, the shape of her head is appealing and she has beautiful eyes decals. Everyone in Alfheim Online is a Fairy like creature with pointy ears, I really like Asuna with pointy ears.

The figures hair is a good adaptation of Asuna’s appearance in the anime. It looks very pretty with its nice sculpting and dynamically flowing long strands. The combination of bright and darker shades of light blue is just great.
At the last third the strands length they start to fade into transparent material. The level of detail is really fantastic.

The outfit of Asuna has a great design, it’s a snow white uniform like dress with a dark blue rim with realistically sculpted wrinkles and folds. Around her waist she is wearing a fluttery cape. It looks really nice how the clothes seems to follow the figures movements. I also like the detailed sleeves at the arms, the blue lines have been applied carefully.

Asuna wears dark blue thigh highs and pretty boots which design also follows the one from the outfit.

The scabbard is attached at her black belt and she holds her rapier sword drawn, ready for some action.

An optional part of the figure are the blue, translucent fairy wings, although finding the small hole for the peg is a bit tricky, Asuna’s figure looks very cool with the wings attached to her back.

The figures relatively wide base is clear blue with light circles on it, that look like stylized impacts of water drops. Attached to the base is a translucent part in shape of wide circular swirl that moves around her feet.

Final Words

Asuna – Undine version is a wonderful figure, her stunning outfit that combines the colors white and blue in a very appealing way. The figure has been put into a very dynamic way that presents her detailed hair with flowing strands. It’s also nice how the clothes seem to follow the movement of her body. The scowl on her face gives her a cool fighting expression. Usually I prefer my figures to have a smile, but I sometimes make exceptions. Judging from my impression of this figure, Emontoys appears to be a very good figure manufacturing company.

Katsuragi Misato

Hooray, a new figure of Misato is a great thing, Rei or Asuka never where my favorites in Neon Genesis Evangelion, they were interesting but really weird. I always was drawn to Misato. This figure of her is dressed in a bikini, but nevertheless she still partially wears her usual uniform. In this attire It might not show the Misato figure of my dreams, but she looks great.

Kuramoto Erika – Mahou Shoujo

I had to get this beautiful Erika figure from Native. What is more important for me than the dynamite body is her pretty face with the enchanting smile. Compared to her official illustration this figure is based on, there are small, but great improvements, the face is so much better and the boobs are less big. Hopefully there won’t be another delay.

Ah, this blue haired and pointy eared Asuna looks so cool. I like the serious expression and her stunning uniform with the nice colors, it will be my first experience with Emontoys, I have good expectations.

When ALTER announced their Chachamaru I was so happy and excited, the figure looks great with the expressive golden eyes, furthermore she’s half nude and seductive. It’s not their first fanservice figure, but it is still surprising to see such figures from ALTER.

Nishikino Maki x Yazawa Nico – Valentine Hen version

This is a great two figure set, one I really like. The outfits are pretty and it’s sweet how the figures are connected.
I admit that I’m not the biggest Maki fan, but together with Nico it is a very nice combination.

Takagi-san

I feel quite excited about this one. I developed quite a crush on Takagi-san when Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san was airing, her anime was just wonderful. Phat Company makes this great looking figure of her sitting on a detailed school desk. I just love her sweet, confident and flirty expression.

A figure of a sexy teacher? … here is my money. No, seriously this a nice looking figure, she has a beautiful youthful face and is quite attractive in the business dress. Together with the glasses and playful pose the figure should turn out really nice.

Yes, I ordered another Asuna, I never knew I was a fan of her XD Of course Asuna always has been a pretty character, but really earned my sympathy by the end of Sword Art Online II. I’ve always been a fan of swimsuit figures and this one looks especially nice and detailed, I didn’t mind the exclusive price tag.

The Love Live Sunshine figures from With Fans! so far looked quite stunning, Riko is especially nice in my opinion, a pretty girl in school uniform. Her face and expression are so sweet, her hair with the flowing strands is also nice looking.

Recently I find it quite challenging to place more preorders for 2019, one reason is that I can’t decide between all those beautiful figures, another reason are the terrifying prices of figures, I would like to prevent getting more than 2 figures in the same month. Seems like Union Creative makes many popular characters from popular animes of the past, I always wanted a figure of C.C. in her attractive straitjacket.

This a quite interesting figure in my eyes, she has a photogenic pose and without a doubt she also has a very nice body. Orchid Seed implemented a variety of different display options and the nice figure measures 29,5 cm.

The concept of this figure is really awesome, when I saw that price of her, second thoughts were instantly kicking in, I’m no fan of the character nor do I like the bunny ears that much. Of course it’s still an impressive figure on it’s own.

I’m a really big fan of Amanchu, it’s a really sweet show about the friendship between Hikari and Teko and character development. Before I would order Hikari though, I would like to know if also a figure of Teko is planned. Beach outfits are great and all, but the Amanchu school uniforms are wonderful, too can’t I have figures with those.

I’d really had preferred a 1/6 scale, on the positive side she is probably the best detailed 1/4 scaled bunny girl figures ever, I mean she looks totally great, I might order her.

I don’t know about the manufacturer FOTS, but I like the concept of this figure. This prototype looks more like a 3D model, but in the end it should be a figure. She’s been planned to be a big 1/5th scale figure that measures 17 cm.

It has been a while since i’ve seen a figure of a flirty vampire loli, I like it. This cutie is based on the game Azur Lane.

I recently got myself this lovely Asuna figure from Max Factory, she was too pretty not to buy.

This figure was already released, when I noticed her appeal, this often happens after user pictures appear. Sometimes promo pictures don’t convey how a figure will look in person. Asuna was released in late October, and barely available after that, luckily I found a friendly local dealer who still had her in stock, I a little paid more, I got her without customs trouble and relatively short shipping time compared to the transit times of SAL, Airmail or EMS.

Asuna is scaled 1/7, sitting on her legs she measures 13 cm. The figure was sculpted by Shining Wizard @ Sawachika. I don’t like all his works, but there are also figures on his list that are masterpieces, like Sansei Muramasa, Catherine or Psychic, who has yet to be released. Asuna is based on the popular Sword Art online, sometimes it’s rather bad, but it has it’s bright moments and can be fun to watch. In the arc this figure is based on she’s 17 years old.

After Sword Art online desintergraded Asuna is still in a comatose state. She is at the mercy of her would be future husband which was decided by her stupid parents. Still, villain – san won’t touch her real body until they are married. He made it so that Asuna was only conscious in the virtual world of another game called Alfheim online, the villain created her account, decided about her appearance and put her in a cage where no player can interact with her.

In the first half of Sword Art online, Asuna was an exceptionally skilled player on par with Kirito, but after she was put in the cage her role got reduced to damsel in distress and many fans got really upset about this development. I think the happy end as result was sweet, I’m actually someone who is always rooting for the first possible couple in anime, as result harem shows are hard for me to watch, but I didn’t really feel Asuna x Kirito, though.

With all the freedom in character creation of a MMORPG, the villains choice of ingame appearance was a rather plain copy of the real Asuna with pointy ears. In his position I would given her more bust, it had turned the show into a comedy and there is only place for one buxom female character. In SAO most characters have a normal build without such features.

The figure comes in a round transparent box with a birdcage design and printed rods, it looks quite fancy and the figure could also be displayed inside her box, which looks also very nice.

Inside there also is a huge round base painted in light green, Max Factory also added around 70 cm of wire with brown rubber coating in case you want to do some light bondage play with her, I didn’t go all crazy with it, you could probably apply it in better ways  than I did.

What I like about figures the most are expressive faces and this is one of the strong points of this Asuna figure. The sculptor toned down the cuteness of her anime appearance a little and made her face more sensual. The slightly closed eyes which are pointing to the left and concerned eyebrows create a convincing expression on her face. Asuna looks a little scared and defenseless, this vulnerable expression suits her quite well, she’s such a beautiful girl.

The figures orange hair is made of soft material, it’s very long and shows a lot of detail, several strands are which are hanging limply over her wings, on the backside she has two braids and a little veil. I really like the design of her bangs with the four major strands hanging down.

At the sides of her head are two pointy ears, as a friend of Elf ears I like this design a lot, the upper side of her ears show a metal like decoration.

Asuna has fairy wings with small winglets on top, it gives her the appearance of a delta winged plane, I can’t shake off the imagination of her to lift off like a space rocket. The transparency make them look quite pretty with the strands of hair over them, it also makes her look wider.

Asuna’s outfit looks rather simple in white, decorated with a red ribbon and a faint shading all around, a mass of folds and wrinkles is used as her skirt, a white ribbon is placed over her private parts. Arms and legs are decorated with brown string, her legs also have bandages.

The design of her top is quite simple, it could look a little thinner to create the illusion of cloth, but however. Her top is evenly torn, it’s a belly free top accentuating parts of her pretty body she has one hell of a pretty belly. It’s also sexy how her lower leg regions come forth under her skirt, the definition of her legs looks great. Every part of her body is nicely accentuated.

When flipping Asuna over she’s unexpectedly lewd, she is wearing a thong and it is badly off center, you can see her butt and also partially the outer parts of her genitals. It’s no necessary detail, maybe the sculptor wanted to show off like “Look what I do with your PG-13 heroine”.

With the arms halfway raised above Asuna’s head and wrists close together she can be constrained with the included wire, when you are into bondage games or just want to adapt a certain scene. I found the wire length to be a little short, as I tried to connect it to something.

I was a bit joking around with Miette-chan about combing this figure with a Rehgar Earthfury figure, his pose was rather hilariously fitting, but I decided that it would have been too outrageous for my liking, soft bondage is the most I can do to this beautiful young  lady.

Final Words

I can’t believe that I nearly missed to order this great figure, she’s without  much exaggeration, fantastic. The innocent white dress combined with the beautiful yet sorrowful expression is unique and make this figure special. The lewdness when flipping her over was surprising, but the sculptor followed his way of keeping attention to detail. The Asuna – Titania version has the nice slender body of a 17 old Elf eared girl (ok, that probably sounds really creepy).

She has a cute belly, also nice arms and legs, the best part for me still is her gorgeous face.
Max Factory did an excellent job and the concept of the figure turned out really nice.

The Mother Rosario arc started recently that finally shifts focus to Asuna, Kirito’s girlfriend if you remember. Sword Art Online always focused about the future of MMOPRG worlds and shows us games like they could be possible in the close future. Since Asuna started to behave like a NEET, it would be interesting to analyze what is happening in SAO II at the moment.

In the first season it was shown how deadly the future of gaming can be, when security measures are hacked. In Sword Art Online II our heroes and heroines are cheerfully playing ALFheim Online without having to risk their lives or other upsetting things. After Kirito saved Asada san she also joins the ALO group and it seems like everyone enjoys their time.

After the first Sword Art Online incident and being saved from Aincard, Asuna and a number of high school kids attend a special school, to close the gap between the time they lost when they were imprisoned in the virtual world. What we never saw so far was, that at Asuna’s home, her life appears like a golden cage with a rich family that seems to have fallen apart.

She is faced with a mother who is disappointed with her daughters development and doesn’t understand her true feelings. She wants to pull her to arranged meetings in order to get a social fitting husband, to strengthen the families social status. Her mother also wants Asuna to change into a for her standards, real school with a higher ranking and career options.

What appeared rather heartless and cold in episode 19 might have a certain truth. It’s the reaction of a mother who lost patience and worries about her childs future, since she’s has no real idea how to help Asuna to move on, she’s pushy and her method is very questionable.

Well, she’s definetely a bitchy mum, but far away from being a villain.

Asuna’s passive behaviour at home and her long gaming sessions might have triggered her mothers outbreak, as well. One day Asuna lost track of time, while playing ALFheim Online and her mother interrupted her game, because she missed dinner again. She gave Asuna a tongue lashing and announces to take her beloved device away if it will ever happen again.

The mother can’t understand why Asuna is still attached to virtual worlds after it send her in a comatose state for 2 years, to me it’s reasonable that her mother worries about her daughter.

Faced with too high expectations, a mother denying her boyfriend and no real life friends around Asuna is desperate and feels very lonely. This is a truly heart wrenching scene.

Is gaming the whole day something you would do in Asuna’s situation ?

We might realize now that Asuna uses ALO as source for escapism from reality. She was overjoyed about buying a home in ALO where she can live with Kirito and Yui in the cozy virtual world. Sorry little lady this not the right way, it’s a sign that Asuna hasn’t found her place in the real world yet.

I know about the appeal of gaming in general as source for entertainment, free time activity and also escapism. My first MMOPRG was Final Fantasy XIV and it was quite captivating how everything was designed and fascinating how you could design your unique character, it was great to dive into such a different world. I played quite a bit and you have to invest quite some time to increase your stats, some days I played all of my free time before my persistent sense of moderation stopped me *lol*.Well, I haven’t touched it since a few months yet.

Do you sometimes reflect about the time you invest into your gaming ?

As advanced as the virtual world in this anime is, I imagine it to be very difficult not to prefer such an augmented reality virtual world over your real life, especially when your real life seems to be a mess like in Asuna’s case. In the recent events Asuna found a new friend called Yuuki, I’m pretty sure she can give her some helpful life advice.

Sword Art Online always was very positive about MMORPG’s, sometimes with all the tech talk it felt a bit nerdy and boss battles were taken too serious. I wonder if the author/director will push all the blame on the mother or if they also intend to question Asuna’s escape from reality. After watching two seasons of SAO I don’t have the highest expectations of Kawahara, Reki’s talents as writer, but the Mother Rosario arc has quite some potential.

Welcome to Wieselhead‘s personal coverage from the Wonder Festival 2013 summer version, which was held on July 28th. It’s the biggest, most popular event for figure collectors around the world. There are two Wonder Festival each year, once in winter and once in summer.

Also in this year many manufacturers of figures and other anime related goods featured and announced interesting and most of all beautiful figures, most will hopefully (or hopefully not ^^) be available in the upcoming months. Due to the amount of interesting figures the Wonder Festival 2013 summer coverage will be divided in two posts full of bishoujo figures.

I was most impressed by the things from Max Factory, seems like they finally realized their talents next to manufacturing action figures. It’s a remarkable number of nice figures.

Shingeki no Bahamut – Cerberus

This was the first figure of this years Wonderfestival that caught my interest, maybe a top favorite. Fans of demon girls have a nice time recently, first the Seven Deadly Sins and now other demonic beauties. Cerberus has slightly less anime-ish characteristics than other figures, but she still has a beautiful youthful appearance with a cute face, a sexy body and furry hands… furry? ok ;D. I really like how Max Factory adapted this figure from the to me unknown source.

Sword Art Online – Asuna 

This a surprisingly nice portray of a damsel in distress, Asuna/Titania has a very seductive appearance, it looks totally like Max Factory qualiy, I mean her face is so beautiful and this expression  is so detailed. The chained up arms it gives a slightly sadistic touch to the figure.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai – Kashiwazaki Sena / Mikazuki Yozora

More Haganai figures, this time Sena and Yozora in cat ear leotards, I think they would look nice next to the previously released Kobato and Maria. Well, as much as I wished for something like this after the lovely Maria and Kobato in cat costumes, Im not that hyped for it. These two or better said Sena in particular is a little off. Her face appears a bit strangely captured

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai – Yagami Tsurugi

The anime was a bit super strange, but also very funny and with likeable characters. I actually mistook Tsurugi for her younger sister Tama, but ok I don’t favor any of these characters.
The figure is sculpted in a very cute pose and the side ponytail is another nice charm point.
Im already enchanted by the figure and will most likely purchase her when the time comes.

Strike Witches 2 – Francesca Lucchini

The good stuff comes at last, I always wanted a NICE figure of Lucchini, the mischievous and cheerful loli character of the witches. The prototype looks already very cute and portrays the character of Lucchini very well. It will probably be turned into a promising Strike Witch, ahh her machine gun is so huge. Too bad that I sold her bosom buddy Charlotte to someone in Hawaii.

Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai! – Takanashi Miu

Miu ≧(´▽｀)≦, Miu is a fine young lady with a sophisticated sense of fashion, I really liked her personality from the anime. The saucy lunatic smile is a bit unique for a young character, it’s like she says  “I don’t mind but you’ll get arrested for sure” A bit of improvement here would help her face I think, even though it would be funny to have a loli figure with such an expression.

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena – Labrys

Im honest, I don’t know whats this about, but it’s cool, the mecha girl characterdesign is totally cool, I like Labrys. The commanding pose and the huge battle axe make this figure even better, I hope the paintjob will bring out my positive image of this figure  in the final state, as well.

Nitro Super Sonic – Sonico – 1/7 – Santa, Swimsuit version

A Sonico figure from ALTER, who would have ever expected this any time!? This is a nice figure for sure, half nude, but with a non teased facial expression this is quite a nice change of pace compared to other figures of her, even though her best figures show her in a teased of embarrased state. There are also Sonico figures I don’t like, because of too exaggerated proportions or questionable poses, but let me say this, these hipster Sonico fans who say thing like “that would be the first Sonico I’d ever buy cause the others look cheap”, “if Sonico would have smaller boobs I’d like her”  totally annoy me. Accept how Sonico in general is or get lost.

Summon Night 3 – Aty

This Game seems to have a really nice characerdesign, even though I never played it. I like how Aty looks her as redhead magician with a fluffy hat and glasses, glasses are the best. The bright blue eyes, her face reminds me of Hattori Hanzo, I wouldn’t have mind if Aty had a slightly more young appearance than this. Anyway the outfit is pretty cool, I love the tight fit dress with the striation design, the belts around her waiste are a nice touch as well as the high boots.
Actually no one would wear these boots in daily life, those are mainly used in red light districts, it’s too bad. All Hail anime fashion, your characters can wear such clothes with attitude.

Nisemonogatari – Oshino Shinobu

Wasn’t it a pleasant surprise as the formerly silent Shinobu turned into a naughty, talkactive Vampire wearing an bishoujo summer dress in Nisemonogatari? I love it and now here is a figure of her also wearing a ladylike hat. In gray she already looks nice, I can’t wait until she’s painted.

Nisemonogatari – Senjougahara Hitagi

This appears also like a nice figure from Nisemonogatari. Senjougahara sama is portrayed with her caring yandere side, to keep her boyfriend from doing dangerous exorcistic activities. I like the whole presentation of this figure, sitting on a chair with a piercing look in her eyes.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon II – Asama Tomo

Kotobukiya’s second Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon figure, Tomo is posed in a powerful shooting stance, while her very female curves are accentuated nicely. It’s a nice looking  prototype, but still It’s still not my kind of dream figure from the Horizon anime, I want something standing in a more casual fashion. Sometimes I’m just too picky with figures where I know the origin.

The Idolmaster (TV Animation) – Ganaha Hibiki

I enjoyed Idolm@ster the anime a lot and Hibiki was among my favorite characters next to Haruka. Here the unique style of the show is captures very well, yeah the mouths are big, either you like it or not so much. The clothes of Hibiki are cool, Im a big fan of her heavy duty boots and the hotpants. The energetic pose is another thing I like about this figure of  Hibiki.

Fate/Stay Night – Saber – Pajama version

GK adaption ! Yay! I have a weak spot for Saber in alternative outfits, Saber in pajamas is something unexpectedly cute. She was made several years younger, her vulnerable and shy pose awakens protective instincts ^^.  The floating pose can be interpret as dreaming, but I think she needs a bed.

Nitro Super Sonic – Sonico – Mouse version

Sonico with mouse ears, I like it ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ.I approve of all the changes that were made compared to the source material, the hair is more three dimensional, a better face expression, toned down breast size and an altered pose. The arched back accentuates her well defined butt nicely.

Making figures of characters as child is a new or maybe very unique idea, child Sonico is based on an illustration from the booklet which was included in the Sonicomi game. Ahh why huge headphones again, you should listen to what your parents say about a healthy diet. Sonico must have old headphones or she’s a cyborg, whatever joking aside it will depend on the pose if I’ll like this or not, her face actually looks adorable, somehow I prefer her grown up though.
