The Pola – Seaside Coincidence version which has been manufactured by ALTER, she is the subject of todays review. Pola is one of the protagonists of the Azure Lane mobile game, there she is a heavy cruiser of the Sardegna Empire.

Personally I think those 2D2 skins are totally getting out of hand with the shipgirls being flirty in such an aggressive and horny fashion. Even I get embarrassed by that. They desperately try getting laid by the commander, no I think they would be the ones on top. Maybe they need some soap in their mouth instead the commander.

Yeah, well that is the origin of the Pola – Seaside Coincidence version figure, a cute looking Pola with a yellow bikini and a dirty mind…

The figure was released in November 2023, the man who was in charge of her figure adaptation was Missile without a doubt, a very talented sculptor. The scale is 1/7 with an overall height of 16cm she comes without any additional or optional parts, you have a metal peg base and can just place the figure where it’s desired to be.

It was actually a figure I was looking forward to a lot, although on arrival I wasn’t that excited to learn that Pola is a figure of the small kind. In terms of height she is smaller than the Javelin – Beach Picnic! version with her overall 27 cm, even when you substract the umbrella their sizes still don’t match very well. Obviously Pola is a lot more well endowed, but even when taking into account that the Pola figure has a more compact pose it’s still very small for 1/7 scale.

I don’t want to be the nagging bitch here, since to be honest the small size really is the only downside of the figure.

The figures hair with it’s bold purple color is a real eyecatcher, there also is the cute twintail hairstyle with a little gradient effect that turns the hairs tips into transparency. Pola also has cool looking sunglasses, they can’t be taken off.

The manufacturer gave beautiful make up to the small figure’s head, you really have to look closer to notice all the little details on the face, I also really like the figures beautiful eyes, the decals have a really high dpi resolution and don’t look printed on at all. Her blush is super cute and so is that tiny open mouth of hers with the tiny front teeth.

The bikini version of Pola is quite enchanting, of course Azure Lane’s general character design follows a simple fanservice direction. The proportions are nevertheless beautiful and even when dressed one can figure out how the characters would look without clothes. Pola is thicc in the best sense of the word, a chubby body that isn’t looking unattractive. Pola has some pounds more, even considered to other “heav cruisers” girls. I adore her wide hips with the surprisingly big butt and the chubby thighs of hers. Her breasts have a sense of weight, a lot of weight apparently, Azure Lane character designers really pay attention to the soft looking breasts and the influence of gravity. The stomach is also nicely sculpted and replicates a nice softness.

She is wearing a yellow bikini with glossy texture, one could argue if it’s the right size anyway. Her breasts barely are supported by the bikini top, so we witness sideboobs, underboobs. The bikini bottom is also doing it’s best to stay in position. No one would wear stockings on the beach, but it honestly looks sexy.

Well, there is a starfish on her butt, I wonder if starfish would actually start to nibble on the human skin under those conditions, someone should take it off asap I’d advise.

The complexity of Pola’s pose make it so that her best angles are from behind, from the front the figure is nicely sculpted as well, but it looks a little strange when her head is turned backwards.

In the middle of the internet world being in a woke wave I really question some of the review sentences I generally use and have used , I don’t want to be considered a pervert, what I do here is pure admiration of the female body, shouldn’t make a difference if it’s a otherworldly 2D beauty or not mind you.

Final Words

Pola – Seaside Coincidence version is a very expressive figure with a beautiful face and an extremely attractive body. The yellow bikini is very pretty, the sculpting of the thicc body is amazingly nice, the details are all there but in the end the Pola is honestly a bit small. The figure deserved to be a damn 1/6 scale statue, not a barely 1/7 scaled beach queen.

AmiAmi still has her on sale when you like bikini figures in general this would be a nice addition in any way

I have not much experience with Atelier games, several years ago I have been trying to play Atelier Totori, but I was unable to get used to the games limited time window to fulfill certain requirements, build a ship, bake cake, do alchemy, collect material, fight monsters AHHHHHHHH! It’s a shame nevertheless since I liked Totori and the adventure was cute .

I came back to the franchise for Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout which was a wonderful adventure game with a good and enjoyable battle system.

The first figure that I have ordered from the franchise is Lila Decyrus, I really liked her appearance and so I decided to buy the figure. I have a figure of Ryza on order, it’s the big one from Phat Company! it will hopefully be released in May.

ALTER released this figure of Lila Decyrus in March 2022, she was sculpted by Amato, she is scaled 1/7 and is measuring 23 cm in height.

Without a doubt the figure is perfectly sculpted and painted, she has a great looking and very detailed outfit and features a thick and sexy bodyline.

Aside from the mature presence of Lila, her beautiful hair is styled in a rather playful manner.

The hair appears soft and thick, the front hair is great looking with one eye nearly completely covered it’s adding a nice touch.

The character has a long braid at the backside and dynamically sculpted twintails at the sides, the transparency, gradient effect and the addition of some red stripes make it very pretty and elaborate.

Lila Decyrus is from the Oren race that lived in the Underworld, what should explain her pale skintone and furry forearms.

The Toridamono artstyle of the game is supposed to be cute and soft, so the stoic nature of Lila’s personality aside, she still has a cute round face.

The parted lips add a lot of detail to the face. It’s still a little bit too expressionless in my opinion.

Although the eyes are pretty and anime styled the figures gaze is kind of sad and it feels like something is missing.

The outfits combination of golden ornaments and dark blue colors is pleasing to the eye.

Lila is wearing body stockings, at certain areas the outfit consists of more sturdy material combined with armor pieces all around her body.

The outfit looks incredibly detailed, also the nice color selection and the creative design, are very well done.

The exotic design appears to be a battle uniform from the White Fang tribe from a far away country.

Her legwear is quite brutal and deadly with these long spikes on knees and shins, the metallic paint on them create a realistic appearance.

Her lower body is covered by a thin strap of cloth at the front and back, it’s only a bit disappointing that her buttocks are covered like that. On her 1,64 m character size Lila is blessed with very attractive womanly curves and so is her figure.

As fighter type Lila has a sturdy, compact body with indeed very big boobs and wide hips. The thighs volume is very prominent compared to the lower legs. I think this is a very nice figure, it portrays Lila’s character very well. Her detailed battle outfit looks gorgeous.

The natural pose is quite appealing in person. While I think that her face is accurate in terms of facial features and stoic expression, I can’t help myself but wanting to see Lila smile a little. Nevertheless, I still think that this one from ALTER is the best adaptation of Lila Decyrus.

It’s about Javelin – Beach Picnic! ver. from Alter

In the last year the focus of figure manufacturers finally shifted away from Fate/Go, to Azure Lane. There already were a number of nice figures from this franchise released especially Alter put its focus and fate towards Azure Lane characters with around 12 figures on their agenda already.

Azure Lane is actually a nice game with an interesting and ambitious storyline, it’s sometimes a bit difficult to follow with the scifi tech talk and theories about things,

that I have not on my mind in general. The big appeal point next to the motivating gameplay, is the female cast. They are all kind of gorgeous, most are rather curvy, Of course there are also other type of girls in the game with less extreme proportions.

The figure of Javelin – Beach Picnic! version was released in October 2022. She is scaled 1/7 with the ridiculously large umbrella spear she measures 27 cm in height.

Javelin is one of the starter ships of the game, she is from Royal Navy faction. She was sculpted by Makio Munetoshi. The overall design is mainly based on this L2D skin out of the game, except for the inflateable swimring and picnic blanket the figure looks like on the illustration.

Javelin is an insanely cute girl, she has a curious open mouth and beautiful blue eyes, that look extremely detailed and lively.

Her cheeks have some blush marks which add more cuteness to the figure.

Her hairstyle looks fantastic, the bangs and the voluminous wide and high ponytail have complex styling with sharp lines, but it still has a fluffy appearance, The lavender color is pleasing to the eye, the transparency effect ion it is actually magical.

Javelin is probably a teenage girl, but let’s say that she has the appearance of a young adult though. Although Javelin is not as well endowed as her big sisters, she has a beautiful bodyline with a cute little butt.

Her small chest combined with wide hips and lovely legs is simply wonderful. The bigger ship girls have quite sexy assets, but I can’t deny that I like the younger ship girls of the game a lot.

She is wearing an adorable but also obviously scantily clad, blue bikini. It’s frilly pieces are very pretty with their light opaqueness and delicate sculpting. At the left side is a big blue ribbon, attached to it is a sparkling gem-

The pose portrays her as bubbly, youthful girl who is really looking forward to the beach picnic, although she has to carry everything herself.

The raised arm with the picnic basket is very cute, another cool feature are the picnic equipment consisting of plates and fancy cups. you can’t do anything with them and it’s not so easy to see, but it’s nice to know that it’s there.

Javelin – Beach Picnic! ver. is both a very sexy and sweet looking figure. Actually, everything about her is beautiful, be it the adorable face, the bodyline with attractive proportions or the great looking hair. I also really like the design of Javelin’s bikini, it’s again a great combination of sexy and cute elements.

I have ordered the figure for 18.800 Yen without shipping. One hand it’s a lot, but compared to other recent figures, Javelin was affordable.

It’s generally very impressive craftsmanship that you can expect from the figures of today, especially when you decide to buy something made by Alter.

Alter released them in January 2019, it indeed would have been a good Valentines Day post, but I wasn’t happy with the pictures I took last year. This year I created a new set you will hopefully like.

For this review I got myself some help from Otaking, I think having another ones viewpoint of a figure is interesting and Otaking was willing enough to offer is help. As co-author he was quite helpful for me.

First a short hello from him.

Hello internet, I’m Otaking. You might have seen some of my comments on Wieselhead articles in the last months. Fabian invited me to co-write for him, so here I am.

I have this figure myself, but I haven’t taken it out of the box yet. Since the box is made of transparent plastic, I thought I don’t need to open it until I display what’s inside.

Unlike Fabi, I haven’t seen anything from Love Live!. So the first thing I thought upon seeing this product was ”either these girls are lesbians and like each other, or they are going to meet their respective crushes. And the pink-haired one is leading the charge, since the other is shy”. Then I found out how Nico is and I thought ”Tsundere!”.

I’m a big fan of the first Love Live! anime, I didn’t consume the content from other media of this franchise, but I was already happy with what the anime covered, I liked everyone a bit, some more and some less.

One of my instant favorites was Nico, the often grumpy idol expert, that could perform the cutest idol pose. Compared to the other mainly good girls, she was like a little demon, but actually really cared for µ’s and liked their school idol adventure with the others. Her relationship with Maki always has been a little tense.

It appears like Maki and Nico don’t really like eachother, so this figure combination is a little odd to me at least. Maybe in other media or in fanfiction they might find their way to eachother. Anyway that pairing is super popular. To see them as item with yuri goggles and the power of love everything is possible.

In the first place I only bought this figure pair because of Nico, but that doesn’t mean that Maki is unwanted for me. I think this combination of two characters is just so adorable, they are even holding hands oh my gosh.

Both figures were sculpted by the experienced Makio Munetoshi who designed quite a number of beautiful figures. Maki and Nico are scaled 1/7 and measure 21 cm in height.

The cute outfits are based on an UR card from the smartphone game, which I actually never played.

Both wear cute valentines day themed school uniforms, if you look closely enough you’ll notice all the small variations of Maki’s and Nico’s outfit. Nico wears a neckerchief, her blouse reveals her belly, she is wearing thigh highs while Maki has a tie, knee socks and her blazer has different pockets.

The main reason I bought this figure-combo was the oufits. They are not as elaborate as a japanese idol stage-suit, but not as simple as the regular school uniform. They are like a fancy version of the latter. You could almost imagine someone wearing this in reality, and it would still be very flashy – but could still be pulled off.  Here’s a history lesson for you readers – go look for “Mod clothing” and you will find clothing similar to what high-schoolers wear in the typical anime. It might be from where the character designers got the inspiration, other then from the actual japanese uniform.

As Fabi said, the uniforms are different to each other, which is all the better. Nico has a fuku-type shirt/blazer, while Maki has a more traditional european blazer, both with appropriate neck-ties for each. I love the gold loop-trimmings on the edges of the collars sleeves and skirts, they just give the clothes an extra edge of elegance. Since I haven’t opened mine yet, I’m looking at the prototype, and I see that the 2 stripes on the left arms are of different colours, to match each of the girl’s ties. One set is burgundy, the other pink. SO much attention to detail ! Also notice the loafers. They not only have gold soles (to match some of the details on the clothes), but also one heart on the right shoe.

One thing their outfit has in common is the length of their skirts, in this pose they are somewhat risky lol.

One last thing … I don’t know what kind of underwear they have on ! I still have that surprise waiting for me when I open the box !

Anyway the burgundy red skirts have a pleated design and the golden lining is especially nicely done, Nico’s skirt says Happy Valentines and has a heart at the top, the level of craftsmanship is quite impressive.

It’s amusing how Nico looks all shy and flustered, while Maki appears chilled and relaxed. I like how it look like they want to hand over choco to their owner, in this case me.

As you probably noticed both girls have different kinds Valentine’s gifts, Nico has probably self made cookies and sweets in a transparent bag and Maki bought some fancy chocolate.

I really like the candy bag Nico is carrying. It looks really well made and detailed. I wonder if the material is rubber or plastic? It’s great how they inserted all those different sweets inside!

Nico turned out especially her short petite body is adorable, her thighs appear slightly plump and squeezed, combined with the thigh highs Nico’s legs look indeed very attractive.

Both stand on one big heart as base, the golden letters and glossy finish give it a high quality appearance. Of course you could only place one of the girls on the base, but when you would have so much dislike for either Maki or Nico, you should better buy a different figure.

Overall, I simply have one complain and that is about Maki, to me her winking eye is on the wrong side, especially for the light setting it is very difficult when the open eye is in the dark corner, they followed the illustration, but it would be much better when they hadn’t.

Final Words

Without a doubt ALTER’s Love Live! School Idol Festival – Valentine Hen figure pairing of Nishikino Maki and Yazawa Nico is a beautiful figure combination. They look like the anime characters or perhaps even nicer. Their outfits look great and everything is especially detailed. The cream white and dark red colors are a perfect color harmony that nicely match with the Valentines theme. It was a somewhat expensive purchase, but for the ~ 20.800 Yen you receive 2 beautiful figures from the Love Live! franchise in an enchanting holding hands pose.

Overall one of my favorite figures from my collection that have street-smart clothes.

When I looked at the latest figure listings at the shops recently I noticed one thing, they became so damn expensive! 13,000 Yen figures became the affordable category and the top category is close to 22,000 Yen. If this trend continues I don’t know what to do, completely turning my back to the figure hobby is not an option for me. Maybe a good time to take a closer look at my figure wishlist. There I noticed a few figures like Mefmera , Kouwan Seiki or Tomoe.

I also noticed VaistarStudio on Twitter some time ago, a super talented figure photographer, who also makes excellent stages for the figures, here I saw these figures and thought that Eila & Sanya looked quite great as pair.

The figure pair was manufactured by Alter. From base to shower head the whole combination measures 23 cm and the scale is 1/8. An less often used scale after 2017, since 1/7 is already the standard. What is odd about the figures is the release date, Strike Witches aired around summer 2010, but this figure combination is from spring 2016.

The figure couple is quite cute, I like the chilled pose of the girls under the shower installation.
First of all I like that figures are made as a pair, at the backside you see how their tails are entwined with eachother. The two girls holding their long drinks with ice cream and tiny straws. Alltogether a summerly atmosphere is created.

Eila has a beautiful face and a great smile, Sanya seems a bit nervous here, but also has a gentle smile on her face.

The bikini design is very skimpy with the low cut panties, Sanya wears a black bikini with soviet star and Eila’s is wearing a blue white bikini with striped top. Even with the skimpy bikini’s both figures aren’t what is considered sexy, the anatomy is like the whole franchise on the skinny side, although they have long legs and a nice looking midsection with cute bellybuttons.

I have watched Strike Witches season 1, season 2 and Victory Arrow, but I skipped Brave Witches, since I didn’t want to get used to new characters. Fortunately, a continuation of the old storyline is scheduled to be aired this year, named Strike Witches: Road to Berlin.

Eila and Sanya share a deep friendship watching them interact in the anime was always heartwarming and sweet. Eila is my favorite of these two, Sanya has a low profile, but that is also cute. Eila has the ears of a wolf and Sanya those of a black cat.

Final Words

Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen & Sanya V Litvyak – summer version is an interesting and charming figure combination.

I’m a big fan of such figure combinations and this one is done especially nice, both are cute figures with nice pose and articulation. In 1/8 scale everything is quite small, not to say tiny, but the general quality of the figures and the accessories is very high and is solid, although one should pay attention to not lose one those tiny straws. Obviously they aren’t very curvy figures what I would prefer nowadays, nevertheless they are very cute and have a nice holiday feeling.

As first review of 2019 I chose the stunning figure of Ashikaga Chachamaru made by ALTER. Ashikaga Chachamaru is based on an VN named Soukou Akki Muramasa, which has been released in 2009.

I actually have to admit that I don’t know anything about her character and only a little about the game she is based on, except from the several CG illustrations that are widely spread around the internet, there aren’t that many informations available. Soukou Akki Muramasa hasn’t been translated so far. The game itself appears quite dark themed, with it’s dystopian setting, it also has no problems with showing the heroines in roughed up conditions.

Nevertheless it’s a popular game with beautiful and attractive character designs, illustrated by the great Namaniku ATK. The game already provided over a dozen figures of mainly Muramasa and Chachamaru. ALTER’s Ashikaga Chachamaru is her 3rd figure adaption, she was released in early December. She has been sculpted by Amato, is scaled 1/7 and measures 22 cm in height. After putting the figure on the base no further assembly is required.

The figure has a very pretty face, the big amber colored eyes are quite expressive, I’m a fan of her thicker eyebrows. She has a slightly opened mouth with a little fang. A detail I also like a lot about the figure are the pointy ears.
Overall she has a friendly expression with a mischievous gaze, it’s really great how lively her face turned out.

Chachamaru hairstyle reminds me of everyone’s favorite vampire Shinobu. She has very long hair with pointy tips, it shows a lot of movement and is captured in a dynamic momentum. The hair is painted in a not too brash tone of yellow with darker shading here and there. The bushy fringe gives the girl a wild and attractive look.

The figures design captures Ashikaga Chachamaru in the middle of undressing with an alluring intention. She’s a girl of average size sporting an enchantingly petite an youthful body. Even though she is a petite girl, her back and abdomen shows a lot of definition. Chachamaru isn’t especially well endowed, she has a small chest and a sexy small butt.

In a way her fairy like built emits a sense of fragility, of course the figure itself is a sturdy one. Her legs are relatively long and the thighs have a nice volume. Chachamaru looks really attractive and the sporty appearance suits her nicely.

The figures halfway dressed outfit is very sexy. She has nothing to wear over her bra, I have no idea where her top went to? She wears a bra with opened up backside. She wears blue striped underwear in a girly design. with blue ribbons at the bra’s and panties front. The bottom part is a thong though. Chachamaru wears nicely designed hotpants painted in orange and brown, it shows great shading effects and realistically sculpted wrinkles.

In her hand the figure holds a long black belt, that was ought to keep the tight piece of clothing in place.
She wears sturdy looking fingerless gloves that cover 2/3 of her forearm, it gives the petite figure a slightly tough appearance. the right hand has a yellow rope wrapped around and you can notice Chachamaru’s tiny thumb.
Her black thigh highs accentuate her lovely thighs and trained calves, they also create the perfect zettai ryōiki.

Final Words
I like this figure of Chachamaru a lot, to me she is adorable and erotic, her facial expression is simply great. Together with hotpants and thigh highs her outfit looks cool. On first look there is the girly underwear but it turns out to include a set of thong designed panties. Despite from looking tough and used to fighting the petite character nevertheless triggers the “must protect” instinct.

Ashikaga Chachamaru from Alter is a wonderful adaptation of Namaniku ATK characters design. Her alluring expression is both, attractive and cute, it also conveys a feeling of danger. The figures slender and athletic body is really great. In combination with her skin revealing outfit, Chachamaru emits a lot of seductive appeal.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a “New Figure Preorders” post, around 12 months ago I published part #36, *OMFG* Don’t worry though, I did not lose interest in the figure hobby at all. I currently have 9 lovely figures on order.

Hooray, a new figure of Misato is a great thing, Rei or Asuka never where my favorites in Neon Genesis Evangelion, they were interesting but really weird. I always was drawn to Misato. This figure of her is dressed in a bikini, but nevertheless she still partially wears her usual uniform. In this attire It might not show the Misato figure of my dreams, but she looks great.

Kuramoto Erika – Mahou Shoujo

I had to get this beautiful Erika figure from Native. What is more important for me than the dynamite body is her pretty face with the enchanting smile. Compared to her official illustration this figure is based on, there are small, but great improvements, the face is so much better and the boobs are less big. Hopefully there won’t be another delay.

Ah, this blue haired and pointy eared Asuna looks so cool. I like the serious expression and her stunning uniform with the nice colors, it will be my first experience with Emontoys, I have good expectations.

When ALTER announced their Chachamaru I was so happy and excited, the figure looks great with the expressive golden eyes, furthermore she’s half nude and seductive. It’s not their first fanservice figure, but it is still surprising to see such figures from ALTER.

Nishikino Maki x Yazawa Nico – Valentine Hen version

This is a great two figure set, one I really like. The outfits are pretty and it’s sweet how the figures are connected.
I admit that I’m not the biggest Maki fan, but together with Nico it is a very nice combination.

Takagi-san

I feel quite excited about this one. I developed quite a crush on Takagi-san when Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san was airing, her anime was just wonderful. Phat Company makes this great looking figure of her sitting on a detailed school desk. I just love her sweet, confident and flirty expression.

Sakuya – Onna Kyoushi version

A figure of a sexy teacher? … here is my money. No, seriously this a nice looking figure, she has a beautiful youthful face and is quite attractive in the business dress. Together with the glasses and playful pose the figure should turn out really nice.

Yes, I ordered another Asuna, I never knew I was a fan of her XD Of course Asuna always has been a pretty character, but really earned my sympathy by the end of Sword Art Online II. I’ve always been a fan of swimsuit figures and this one looks especially nice and detailed, I didn’t mind the exclusive price tag.

The Love Live Sunshine figures from With Fans! so far looked quite stunning, Riko is especially nice in my opinion, a pretty girl in school uniform. Her face and expression are so sweet, her hair with the flowing strands is also nice looking.

Recently I find it quite challenging to place more preorders for 2019, one reason is that I can’t decide between all those beautiful figures, another reason are the terrifying prices of figures, I would like to prevent getting more than 2 figures in the same month. The concept of this figure is really awesome, when I saw that price of her, second thoughts were instantly kicking in, I’m no fan of the character nor do I like the bunny ears that much. Of course it’s still an impressive figure on it’s own.

I’m a really big fan of Amanchu, it’s a really sweet show about the friendship between Hikari and Teko and character development. Before I would order Hikari though, I would like to know if also a figure of Teko is planned. Ahem, normally I’m not interested in bondage girls with sex toys, here things are a little different, since this character is beautiful, perfect brown skin an adorable turtle face and she looks just gorgeous. I just had to wait several years, to see the cutest standing Kaname Madoka figure to date. She is so enchanting in this adaption, I need her, even though she is sold as limited exclusive.

Sawara Ayaka

The stunner from the previous Wonfes some months ago, BINDing’s Sawara Ayaka. It was love on first sight, then it turned that she will be scaled 1/4 and cost around 28000 Yen. I’d really had preferred a 1/6 scale, on the positive side she is probably the best detailed 1/4 scaled bunny girl figures ever, I mean she looks totally great, I might order her.

Ochi Ripca

I don’t know about the manufacturer FOTS, but I like the concept of this figure. This prototype looks more like a 3D model, but in the end it should be a figure. She’s been planned to be a big 1/5th scale figure that measures 17 cm.

Vampire – Azur Lane

It has been a while since i’ve seen a figure of a flirty vampire loli, I like it. This cutie is based on the game Azur Lane.

This time her version is called Sangatsu Hen. Alter also made a matching version of Hoshisora Rin, both would have looked great together, but I only could afford one. Hanayo was sculpted by Tobita Takafumi and was released in May.

Hanayo is based on this illustration from the Love Live! School Idol Festival smartphone game.

This figure is scaled 1/7 and measures 22 cm in height, as optional item she has a cutely designed microphone staff.

Hanayo wears her usual dark blonde hairstyle without any decorations, her cute face is brimming with happiness and her wonderful smile has a contagious effect. With the big reflection spot in her purple eyes one could get the idea of her being slightly drunk, but she is probably only intoxicated with joy because she became a self confident idol now.

Her expression is really sweet, unfortunately this Hanayo figures comes without glasses, I always liked her appearance as bespectacled cutie, so I would have prefered it to have the glasses option, maybe in a funky cherry blossom design.

Hanayo is wearing a shoulder free top and a frilly mini skirt. Her cute costume is heavily influenced by the cherry blossom theme, it shows different shades of pink, white and green. The amount of detail on the beautiful outfit is incredible, you probably see it yourself, but I will nevertheless write about a few aspects of her enchanting outfit.

For example her wide open sleeves; they have a frilly green inlay painted in the color of young cherry tree leafs, a different tone of green is present at her over the knee boots, the pastel green is quite nice, but additionally pink cherry blossoms are printed on it, the shiny pink soles are a nice highlight as well. The rim is decorated with a pink frilly rim.

The outfit also highlights the attractive body of the rice loving Hanayo. Her fancy skirt has a striped top layer and several layers of frill underneath, the details on it are very elaborate. At first it appears a little odd what a short skirt Hanayo wears from a slightly lower angle, her nice behind can barely be ignored. The plumpness of her thighs or other areas is quite prominent overall and gives the figure an sweet, sexy and appealing appearance.

Hanayo is articulated in a cute looking pose, which captures her during idol dancing, the lifted open arms make it look quite adorable. Her legs are showing a nice articulation as well, the highs are close together, which highlights the Zettai Ryōiki in a great way. The angled left lower leg adds some more movement to the sweet pose.

Unlike ALTER’s other Love Live! School Idol Festival figures, the Hanayo Sangatsu Hen version has a different looking base, smaller in size and in shape of a cherry blossom with pink cherry blossoms and petals printed on.

Final Words

The figure is without a doubt a very enchanting adaption of Hanayo’s character, Koizumi Hanayo is my fourth Love Live! School Idol Festival figure. I really like this style, she has a lovely outfit with a pretty color selection and an amazing level of detail. Her face is very cute and I just love her happy expression, the lack of glasses is a little letdown, but I knew that in advance. I also like that the sculptor adapted Hanayo as pleasingly plump as she is supposed to be .

I’m really happy with the Koizumi Hanayo – Love Live! School Idol Festival – Sangatsu Hen version, ALTER’s Love Live! figures just never disappoint. Are there any of  ALTER’s Love Live! School Idol Festival figures you would like to see another version of? I would like a new Kotori and Nozomi figure or Nozomi in a swimsuit, please.

Umi was manufacturered by ALTER and released in August 2017. As her other School Idol Festival friends she is scaled 1/7 and 20 cm in height. Nearly every of those figures was made by a different sculptor, Umi was sculpted by Sai.

Umi’s character is relatively complex, she is a level headed girl with a quite conservative and demure view on everything. Nevertheless at heart she is a pure maiden with sweet natured behaviour. Umi has problems with showing her legs in public, she feels quite embarrased about it and don’t want to wear the skimpy idol outfit, that Kotori desinged. The regular school uniform also features a quite short skirt, so it is kind of weird that Umi isn’t bothered by that.

Another funny thing about her is that the level headed attitude often leads to her bossing around her less level headed friends, which often lets Umi appear a bit too strict for her age. In the idol group Umi has 2 different tasks, in the first place Umi is in charge of choreography and the regular fitness training, but also is the main lyricist for the songs.

An distinctive feature of the Love Live! anime(s) is the beautiful character design, the characters have very detailed, sweet faces and sparkling eyes. In these Love Live! School Idol Festival figures this particular style has been adapted faithfully. Umi looks quite happy in her idol performance, her winking eye is quite charming. The open amber colored eye on the other hand is so beautiful and shining, these is a gorgeous eye decal there. Furthermore eyebrows and other details as well as blushmarks are also really nice. Something I really appreciate on her face are the lightly painted lips.

Umi has dark blueish hair, the front hair is pretty and sculpted after her appearance in the anime, the hair at the backside is quite long, it is sculpted in a flowing backwards style, at the sides she has two strands separated by frilly ribbons, it looks like narrow twintails. On the left side she wears a pretty orange flower and ribbons as decorations.

The outfit of the figure is so pretty, the yukata combines a traditional look with a mordern design. The dress consists of a top, a skirt with transparent underskirt, as well as separate sleeves and loose “socks”, around the waist she is wearing a cute belt, The details on it look really elaborate. The light blue dress has a lovely flower pattern with blue, purple and violet and orange flowers. The geta shoes fit to the overall design, although they might no be too practical for dynamic dancing. Everything looks really nice together. The Love Live! School Idol Festival figures have all different outfits which is nice, if I would have to decide for one outfit for all 9 members, this yukata would be my favorite choice.

At her back Umi has a fancy fan with her name printed on it, unfortunately to my discontent it can’t be taken off.

Umi is articulated in a cheerful and quite dynamic pose based on one of her Love Live! School Idol Festival cards; with the right hand she is pointing at the audience while holding up the vintage microphone with the other hand she is holding the cable, so that she is not stepping on it accidently. Haha while assembling the figure getting that cable into place as it was shown on the box was quite a challenge. The pose also accentuates her pretty legs, behind the separated sleeves, the figure shows a bit of her bare shoulders and you can also take a peak at her nice armpits.

About the setup, because of a change of the figures release date, the setup was planned a bit more in advance, I had the idea of Umi performing at the beach. So at first I made a pier matching the figures sïze, painted it and added weathering effects. Flower chains of different colors were wrapped around a wooden bow, at the end I also added LED lights to the low cost construction. For the figure shooting Umi was put on a transparent base. For a complete look sand and a background were added, scrunched transparent gift paper works great to create a realistic water surface.

Final Words

On summary I’m very happy to have this sweet figure of Umi – chan, she looks very lively and I’m impressed by how elaborately made this figure is. The lovely face and her stunning yukata are so nice with ALTER’s Sonoda Umi you would have a extremely beautiful and also adorable Love Live! School Idol Festival figure at home. Before sitting down to write this review and taking another look at Love Live!, I actually did not have a real liking to Umi, but now I have grown fond of her. I might have ordered this figure just for the looks, but now I’m even happier that it’s a great figure of Umi.

Nozomi – Love Live! School Idol Festival – ALTER

A whole lot of figure adaptions have been made of Sora, she is surprisingly popular, given her unsocial personality,
that she showed in her VN and anime adaption Yosuga no Sora, but she is a caring little sister. The illustration that this figure is based on was created by Hashimoto Takashi who was in charge of the character designs in the VN. 

The bunny style version of Sora was sculpted by one of my favorite figure artists, Hashimoto Ryou. She was released in late April 2017. I received her before I started my 3 week long vacation this year, so I publish this review a bit late.

The figure is scaled 1/7, comes with a stool that has a magnetic sitting surface to hold Sora in place, the trademark black plush bunny is also part of the set. Alltogether while sitting on the stool, the figure has a size of 27 cm.

Sora has her hair tied into two twintails of impressive length, the deep hanging fringe made photography a bit difficult, but the hidden areas give the pictures an artistic touch. The figure has shiny, yelllow gray ish eyes and the face is quite pretty and has a somehow erotic expression, the slightly open mouth with the sculpted lips is really nice on her. Sora’s gaze over her shoulder is an halfway interested, also halfway desinterested one. while nibbling on a single cherry.

She is a very interesting figure that conveys a strong atmosphere, it’s not what you would describe as cute, although by default Sora is someone I would consider as cute. In this figure adadaption though, Sora appears quite mature with a mysterious aura, the whole figure radiates a sense of elegance, a bunny dress in general is not something I would consider as elegant at all, but Sora with her un-boxum body manages to give the outfit a refined, mature appearance.

I really like Sora in a bunny suit, the slender body and less endowed curves make it look nice and not sexually overloaded as other bunny girl figures that have big boobs and butts. Of course I like those as well, but there is a reason why I have chosen this figure of Sora over the dozen amazing bunny girls from FREEing, like Himejima Akeno. 

The sculpting of her body is really detailed, be it the arms, the lovely thighs or the modest chest, it all looks beautiful. My personal favorite aspect is the detailed sculpting of the backside with her shoulders and upper back.

Sora is quite petite and thin, but she is also a beautiful young girl. Compared to the slim upper body Sora proudly presents her hips in this nicely articulated arched back pose. The pose also lets her butt look firm and attractive,
I also should mention her very pretty legs, the on the stool position lets them appear longer than they actually are. In her league Sora is a beautiful and cool bunny girl in a nicely designed bunnysuit with puffy bunny ears, collar and the obligatory cuffs around the wrists. The top part of the bunny suit is painted in pearl white, it’s shiny texture makes it quite appealing to the eye. Obviously also the sculpting with the seams and creases is perfectly done. Her hips and legs are clad in a dark brown pantyhose with good shading effects that accentuate the nicely shaped legs and bottom.

Final Words

Kasugano Sora – bunny style version is a marvelous, attractive, slender bunny girl figure, her articulation and overall presentation are perfect and create a certain atmosphere. Sora looks just cool, she doesn’t feel cheerful, but she is also not especially fanservice heavy, she is a surprisingly classy looking character for someone in such clothes. This Sora is another awesome and elaborately manufacturered figure made by Alter, but also something special in my eyes.
