second anniversary of wieselhead.de
On May 13th 2010 this humble blog went on air, so yeah it’s already have been two years since I started writing figure reviews. In this 2nd year I’ve written 56 post, 23 were figure reviews, the rest were about anime, preorder posts about my figure purchases and there was quite a number of Super Sonico related posts, like the Sonicomi Game, music and artbook.
Sorry that I haven’t planned anything fancy for this anniversary post, no new theme, no changes in design, I just hadn’t the time, not the right mood and no satisfying idea. Or was I just lazy? Continue reading

Naoe Kanetsugu – Hyakka Ryoran by ALTER

It’s Hammer time! The warrior of love, Naoe Kanetsugu makes her appearance.
Today I can present you my review of ALTER‘s latest figure from the Hyakka Ryouran lineup. There already have been a few reviews of her, but it would be nice if you would read mine as well.
Naoe Kanetsugu is scaled 1/8 and has a height of 225 mm including the height of her hammer. She was sculpted by Makio Munetoshi who mainly works for ALTER and Kotobukiya as well.

Mirai Nikki – anime review

It’s anime review time again! I didn’t feel the urge to write a review about any anime from the past season, instead I will talk about my impressions of Mirai Nikki, an anime which recently ended.
Mirai Nikki is a 26 episode long anime based on a manga written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno.
It was produced by Funanimation and Asread and aired from October 9, 2011 to April 15, 2012.
I jumped a bit later on the Mirai Nikki bandwagon, but thx to that I had the pleasure to watch nearly the first half of the anime without weekly waiting time. The genre is a mix of supernatural, mystery, psychological-thriller and comedy, with quite a number of lunatic characters in the cast.

Artbook review: Xa Colors

I recently received a certain artbook from one of my favorite artist on deviantart gueuzav (Xa), he’s a french illustrator since 8 years and his style somehow combines the western comic look with anime. He also was the head designer of the MMORPG’s games DOFUS and Wakfu which I haven’t played so far. The book contains a varity of nice Illustrations which show original and game related characters. Im a fan of his characterdesigns and the vivid coloring.

Astraea – Sora no Otoshimono by PLUM

Hi people
Here is my first figure from manufacturer PLUM, it’s Astraea from the Sora no Otoshimono anime/manga. Her release date was in December 2011. On first sight, I got quite interested in this figure, but my opinion of Plums craftsmanship so far was just based on this Nymph figure and it wasn’t that convincing to me. So as their Astraea was announced I decided to wait a bit more with the purchase, I also expected that she might end up in the bargain bin like Plum’s Nymph before, but the opposite happened, at the shops I use more often the figure was sold out fast.
It seems like a lot of people bought this figure but actually not a single person wrote a review about her (correct me if I’m wrong), which was another reason for me to track this figure down. Fortunately I could find it the figure a few month after release at Plamoya, sometimes they have nice discounts, no Im not sponsored
During the shipment I started to doubt my decision, I didn’t know what to expect from Plum or this figure, would I be satisfied with this Astraea… ?
Anyway Im glad that I ordered Astraea in the end, I would have regret it if I had passed on her.
check out why in this review … Continue reading

New Preorders part 11

Hi here is a new figure related post, but instead of a new figure review it’s about my latest figure preorders. 5 more figures made it to my list. This years list keeps growing faster than I would actually wish, lets see if I can keep it under 24 figures at the end of this year unlike in 2011.
First the last minute preorders/orders which were just added recently.
SONICONICOROCK Tribute To VOCALOID – CD
![]()
Oh minna san
I have another Soniko merchandise related post for you, this time Soniko sings a few songs for us. This CD is called SONICONICOROCK Tribute To VOCALOID - Initially Pressed Limited Gorgeous Edition. As the name implies Soniko is performing some popular songs of Vocaloids. Don’t misunderstand Soniko is none of these synthesizer singers, since the Sonicomi game promotion started, she has a real voice, which is given to her by Ayano Yamamoto.

Genesis of Aquarion anime review

Genesis of Aquarion is an anime that I watched lat week, this show was 26 episodes long and was aired from April till September in 2005. Two additional OVA were made and a Movie came out in the year 2007. In this latest anime season a new adaption of the Aquarion franchise called Aquarion Evol started. So far I enjoyed it a lot and so I got curious about the previous anime.
With its fancy transformations, special moves and sudden enhancements of power levels Genesis of Aquarion is a little homage to the Super Robot shows of the 1980′s and 1990‘s.
In the distant past mankind faces a fearsome enemy, the Shadow Angels who harvest them to extract their plana, the energy source of the Angels. The Shadow Angel Apollonius once betrayed his comrades after he fell in love with the human girl Celiane. In a bloody battle Apollonius and his human comrades were able to seal the Shadow Angels in their base, called Atlantia. In the future 11 years prior to the story an great crisis occurred and the Shadow Angels from 12000 years ago were free again. They start to attack the humans again with mecha units and harvesting machines to catch the inhabitants of the cities. The weapons of mankind have no effect on the enemy.

Super Soniko Bondage Candy Pink by Orchid Seed NSFW

Hi, I recently received the Super Soniko Bondage - Candy Pink version, back in the first half of 2011 I already received the normal Super Soniko Bondage version. I guess my affection and love torwards the Nitro+ mascot Soniko started around the time I wrote her review last year.
Its actually a funny coincidence that this review is the most popular post on my humble blog
Buying a figure twice just because of a different color scheme appeared a bit odd to me in the first place, but I liked the previous black version of this figure to such an extent, that I even ordered the alternative Super Soniko Bondage - Candy Pink version, which was released around 9 month later on January 17th 2012. She is also sculpted by Tanaka Masanori.
This Soniko is scaled 1/7 and castoffable. Without taking shipping and custom fees into account I paid 6,600 JPY, for the previous one it were 6,630 JPY.
This Soniko comes with a blue colored and textured base with silver font, this time the guitar is pink and looks quite nice like that, the stand of the guitar is painted in a shiny white color.
Another reason for ordering the alternative version of her was, that I had the small hope that Orchid Seed wouldn’t forget to add the blushmarks on her face this time. For me it was the only big letdown of the first Super Soniko Bondage version. In the illustration she was sculpted after, she had clearly visible blushmarks which couldn’t be found on the cheeks of the final figure. Continue reading
